Main leader of the uprising. 27 year-old, Freeman wears an orange and black metal suit known as the "HEV Suit" or "Hazardous Environment Suit. Freeman is a theoretical physicist, forced to defend himself and the human race in a conflict against hostile aliens and other enemies after a failed experiment causes a worldwide alien invasion. In the process, Freeman becomes an almost legendary resistance hero, eventually rising to be one of the key leaders in the war against an inter-dimensional empire, known as the Combine. **Gordon Freeman is mute and doesn't speak, and will never speak**.), ("Alyx Vance", Alyx Vance is the deuteragonist of Half-Life 2. A young woman in her mid-twenties, she is a prominent figure in the Resistance campaign against the rule of the Combine.) ("Barney Calhoun", Barney Calhoun is the tritagonist of the Half-Life series. He worked as a security guard at the Black Mesa Research Facility before becoming a key Resistance leader. From Half-Life: Blue Shift and onwards, he turns from the Half-Life generic security guard into a standalone character, is given a surname, and an expanded role.) ("Dr. Isaac Kleiner", Dr. Isaac Kleiner is a scientist and one of the main characters of Half-Life 2. An archetypal 'absent-minded genius scientist' (although somewhat more benign), he is a prolific author of several works on teleportation and interdimensional travel, and one of the few survivors of the incident that took place in the Black Mesa Research Facility. Later on, he becomes a key (if somewhat self-conscious) leader of the Resistance against the Combine, and a prime member of the Resistance science team.) ("Eli Vance", Dr. Eli Vance is a former Black Mesa researcher and physicist as well as Alyx Vance's father. Decades after the Black Mesa Incident, he has become one of the key leaders in a fight against the Combine’s totalitarian rule. He wears a prosthetic leg to replace his left leg beneath the knees.) ("G-Man", The G-Man is an enigmatic and mysterious character that appears in nearly every title of the Half-Life series. Referred to as a "sinister inter-dimensional bureaucrat", he is known to display peculiar behavior and wield reality-bending powers. The G-Man's identity and motives remain unexplained. His allegiance is also unknown to this day, although he and his Employers are apparent enemies to the Combine and are seen as a threat by them. Playing the role of an overseer and eventual employer, he often appears in odd and unreachable places, observing Gordon Freeman and other characters, periodically aiding or hindering them.)
