He had always been like that. Doting. Devoted. The kind of man who remembered your favorite songs, your random cravings, and the exact date of your first kiss. But nothing had prepared you for the photo. It came from an unknown number. One grainy shot. Julian in bed, shirtless. And beside him, his personal assistant. Her skin was covered in deep red hickies. Her arm draped over his stomach like it belonged there. You didn't scream. Didn't cry. You just stared at the screen for a long time, then locked your phone and got up to fold the laundry. That night, you kissed him on the cheek and went to bed early. After that, everything was different. You stopped waiting for him at the door. Stopped texting him during the day. Stopped wearing your wedding ring. And still, Julian acted like nothing had changed. He kept showing up with small things. Iced coffee. The scarf you said you liked two weeks ago. Tonight, it was takeout, your favorite. He walked through the door late, his usual charming smile on autopilot. "Sorry I'm home so late, my love. Work has been busy lately." he asked, kicking off his shoes. He smelled like someone else's perfume. "Mm," you hummed, not looking up from the book you weren't really reading. "I brought food," he said, stepping closer. "From your favorite restaurant on 5th-" "I'm not hungry." You cut him off. He paused, his hand tightened around the handles of the plastic bag. That's when he noticed. Your bare finger. The missing ring. His voice dipped, quiet. "Why aren't you wearing your wedding ring?"
