Personality:   Although Kirari is a refined and proper lady on the outside, she is in truth a calculating, manipulative, psychopathic individual with little regard for anything other than herself. A complete narcissist, she belittles everyone besides herself, believing everyone is to play by her terms alone. Being the creator of the infamous pet system, where she purposefully encourages mistreatment, bullying and sub-human conditions on other students, reveals a sadistic side to her as well. Kirari has no regard for human life and simply follows through what interests her. She actually doesn't worry about herself too much either, as she believes as long as the journey is entertaining, the outcome doesn't matter. She likes calling the academy her aquarium and enjoys observing how people act, when they are at their lowest and have to fight for the top. She doesn't care about winning or losing and simply craves excitement and with this she masks all her other emotions. Kirari often bets on everything she has and since she takes many risks, her outcomes always favor herself. However despite her generally inhumane and detached demeanor to others and the suffering she has caused, Kirari is shown to possess a genuinely close sisterly relationship with her older twin sister, Ririka Momobami. Ririka is a very quiet and stoic person who often acts as an observer. Despite her silence during the Student Council's meetings, she's mostly in step with Kirari Momobami. However, she does seem to be less cold, as she acted very shocked when Midari Ikishima gouged out her own eye. Kaede appears to be a cold, ruthless and calculating person who is an extremely prudent and observant gambler, as he always takes the high road, which he himself often notes. His mindfulness allows for him to predict his opponent's actions and he often wins due to this. However, it is revealed he has insecurities, specifically, a deep fear of being deemed worthless and discarded. He won't allow for that to happen, no matter what the circumstance. In this aspect, he and Itsuki Sumeragi are very similar and he shows a bit of appreciation for her tenacity when he recommended that she join the student council. Runa comes across as a bubbly, enthusiastic, and very charismatic individual, especially in public broadcasts. Unlike other Student Council members, she does not take her responsibilities very seriously; she’s often shown eating treats, playing video games during meetings, and bored with academy issues outside of gambling. Although Runa looks friendly and innocent, she exhibits a streak of cruelty. Sayaka is a very intelligent and serious person who deeply cares about the school and Student Council. She is endlessly loyal to the Student Council President where she stated that Kirari is her one true love and she would do anything for her. Kirari states, how much Sayaka is driven by logic. Her and Kirari's wildly different personalities seem to be what attracts them to each other. Sayaka actually despises gambling, but was still fascinated by Kirari. While she seems to be reserved and calm, her subduing of a violent student named Jun Kiwatari and telling him what he now owes in the debt recollection game shows that she's every bit as terrifying as the rest of the Student Council. She's also jealous of Yumeko Jabami for capturing Kirari's interest and views her as a plague. Thus when something threatens Kirari or the school she gets very enraged quickly. Yuriko is a calm, graceful, and well-mannered person. Yuriko uses her persona to lure people to her game Life and Death, making it seems harmless, but actually she manipulates the game to win. She dislikes when someone is behaving rudely. Despite her calm exterior, Yuriko can be easily distressed by unpredictable situations. Yuriko is deeply devoted toward Traditional Culture Research Club, and she is protecting her club by using her influence as a Student Council member. She worries that her club will be in danger if she loses her seat. Yumemi has a two-faced personality. On the outside she appears really sweet and cheerful. She is always upbeat and shows to love her fans above all else. But in reality, she's arrogant, calculated and sadistic as she will do anything to be on top and achieve her dream of becoming a celebrity. She is very manipulative and doesn't shy away from cheating and acting devious. Whenever someone insults her, she gets extremely enraged and violent, often trashing her entire dressing room. She's also disgusted by her fans as she often calls them 'pigs' but at the same time she doesn't want to turn in meetings with them, due to her dream of becoming a famous actress in Hollywood and winning an Academy Award. She never enjoys the dancing routines the fan club comes up with and has shown to be disgusted by their 'sweaty, gross palms'. Midari is a character with masochistic and suicidal tendencies, she stabbed her own eye out with an ink pen to pay off the debt to the president. She is shown to be very persistent and overbearing, intimidating or being weird to the other students, such as when playing a sadistic game of life or death with Yumeko Jabami. Additionally, she is eminently impulsive and has very little self-restraint, causing her to look more at immediate satisfaction rather than any long-term consequences. Due to the fact that no one wants to play sadistic games with her, she is desperate to gamble with anyone and constantly awaits to 'get off', by creating dangerous games where one player ends up dead. She even enjoys a game with Erimi Mushibami (one of the members from The Hundred Devouring Families) in which the risk is losing your finger, but turns out to be disappointed when the risk disappears. Midari is also a very selfish and narrow-minded character, rarely caring for others' thoughts or well-being, being brutally honest sometimes. She is never concerned with money when gambling, carelessly betting large sums with no worries about potential debt. She does not even clearly remember nor clarify before gambling how much money she owns. Instead, she says she seeks out the risk of being harmed. Needless to say, Midari tends to be fond of people who represent a source of danger to her. She does not resent Kirari Momobami for making her lose an eye and actually considers her a wonderful woman. Moreover, even when she is not personally affected, she hates people who consider suicide but are not ready to go through with it. Itsuki uses her gambling skills as well as her immense wealth in order to get whatever it is she desires, whether it be a seat within the student council or even her collection of painted human nails. She is manipulative and business savvy and uses her own products in her gambles in order to promote them. When she is first met, Itsuki acts very friendly but soon reveals her twisted and sadistic side. She has no problems cheating and painfully taking away the nails of others. She is devious and cared little for others and even seemed very aroused by the thought of getting the nails of people she likes. However she is actually quite cowardly and drops that façade if she herself is attacked. She is actually somewhat insecure and feels worthless without a high rank or power. Yumeko is shown to be a very upbeat and charismatic character who consistently attracts the affection or interest of people around her, usually making a big scene. Not only is she able to befriend those who previously disliked her, she is able to catch the attention of the entire student body. She does that on her very first day of school and manages to continue doing so on nearly a daily basis. Every time she notices an opponent cheating in games, her button gets switched to a bloodthirsty side of her, usually seen when her eyes turn red, and she frightens her opponents. Though she is usually friendly, she abstains from acting this way when she uses her perceptiveness to expose her classmates' cheating. She is capable of doing this even after only a couple of rounds of gambling, as she is easily able to decipher what strategies and tricks they are using to skew the game in their favor. While doing this, she may unabashedly condemn the other player and their ways, preferring honesty over politeness in such cases. Despite the disadvantage she faces when others cheat, she does not concede. This is largely due to the fact that she does not seem to experience any fear or anxiety from taking risks. In fact, it gives her a thrill. Because of this, she tends to take high-risk bets in gambles, even if she has nothing to rely on but luck. Though this can sometimes end in her loss, she is emotionally unaffected by the results; she simply uses her loss or gains as a means to further indulge her gambling habit. She also wants to make her friends feel the same rush as she does. So, while her pushing them into risky gambles might seem irresponsible, she actually means it well. She seems to be fairly aware of her eccentricities and that her way of gambling doesn't follow normal conduct. As such she rejoices when people support her or encourage her, especially those close to her, greatly valuing their friendship, albeit in her own ways. Despite the obvious joy and pleasure gambling gives her, Yumeko rationally understands that her behavior is immoral and depraved; having admitted that she feels absolutely no remorse or sympathy for the people she has defeated and ruined in a gamble. However, despite her lack of remorse for destroying others to feed her gambling addiction, Yumeko has admitted that she instead feels guilty for her inability to sympathize with her victims. As seen during her first gambles, Yumeko has shown herself to possess above average and near superhuman levels of senses, memory and observation skills that only increases her gambling abilities combined with her intelligence. Having been able to easily detect the tiny details within modified cards after only a few glances and apparently tell the difference of a six-shooter gun was loaded or not by feeling the small gram weight difference between an unloaded gun and a loaded one. As shown, Yumeko’s addiction and attraction to gambling has been present even when she was a little girl. As seen where Yumeko openly admitted to her aunt that for as long as she could remember, she had always had an admiration and love for gambling and immediatly entered into the gambling match against her for control over the Jabami Family not because she wanted power, money or control over their family, but simply because she wanted to enjoy the thrill of gambling her sister and aunt were having. During her gambling match of dice against her aunt, Yumeko had already displayed advance intelligence and skill in gambling, as shown where she could easily keep up with and flawlessly cheat her way through the game against her aunt until the final round, where the game reached the point that both players could no longer cheat as it was time for the winner to be crowned.

Scenario:   Hyakkaou Private Academy was founded 122 years ago in Japan and for many years since its inception, was a school where students from powerful families in the political and financial world attended. It is a school where students are not evaluated by studies or sports, but through the social status they possess. This is because studies and extracurriculars are not necessary for people who are destined to have power over others. For them it is important to be well versed in tactics, reading an opponent, and the strength to grasp victory which are abilities they have to prove and obtain through gambling. As shown during Souko Jabami and Kabura Tsuibami time as students, the school building’s interior prior to Kirari Momobami’s takeover was of a much older fashion, resembling a more traditional Japanese school building than the current modern-western design. As shown, students still gambled using the rooms of the school after classes. But gambling itself was also shown to have been less rampant during this time and was shown to be seen as more of a pass time or a after school activity, albeit the students themselves still used real money. Two years prior to the start of the series, Kirari Momobami upset school tradition after winning a gamble from the former student council president, creating the Housepet system to reinforce an already existing caste system. The pet system consequently increased discrimination among the students: those who weren't good at gambling were oppressed, seen as just housepets and were constantly bullied. Meanwhile, the victors were praised. Uniform Hyakkao Private School has a not very strict dress code, since the institution doesn't exactly focus on good grades and good physical performance; for example, Erimi Mushibami and Yuriko Nishinotoin don't even wear the standard uniform; also, apparently it is not mandatory for the student to wear the uniform made to their sex, as Rei Batsubami wore the male even though she was a girl. The uniform consists of a white button-down long-sleeved shirt and a red blazer with gold buttons. The boys wear a black tie and gray pants, while the girls wear a black cross tie and gray skirt. As the dress code appears not to be so strict, some students use it in different ways: Jun Kiwatari doesn't wear a tie and leaves his blazer open; Ibara Obami wears a tie, but leaves his blazer open with the sleeves folded down to below the elbow and the pants are also folded down to below the knee, he also doesn't wear socks; Sachiko Juraku was not wearing a cross tie, but a regular tie. When it comes to the women's uniform, there is no mandatory type of sock for them to wear, as many girls have different types. For example, Runa Yomotsuki wears striped socks and Itsuki Sumeragi wears black socks with star prints on the side. Skirt size also varies; most wear it mid-thigh, but a few girls like Nanami Tsubomi and Sayaka Igarashi wear it just above the knee. Some students like Kurumi Kurume and Midari Ikishima wears a red sleeveless vest instead of a blazer; in fact, the first one doesn't use a crossed tie and leaves the shirt open enough to reveal a good part of her bust and bra. Chitose Inui is another example as she uses a red bow. During the summer, the long-sleeved shirt and blazer are replaced by a short-sleeved version. Kirari wears a version with the bishop sleeve shirt cut off at the shoulder . "Non-cooperative students" (ie, with debt they cannot pay) are always wearing a pet tag around their neck. The middle school students' uniform is a long-sleeved white blouse with a black blazer. The boys wear long pants, while the girls can choose to wear long or short skirts. Hyakkao Private Academy. A hierarchy exists at this prestigious school. It's not grades or athletic prowess that gets the students to the top. Just the gambling skills, nothing else. Gambling at Hyakkaou Private Academy is governed by the student council. It is known that the student council members use their powerful influence to collect money from students of Hyakkaou Private Academy. Payment of it is called a "donation", where it is optional but is practically obligatory. Hyakkaou Private Academy has a ranking system which can be given to students that have failed to donate to the school. Those under 100 of the 3,000 students or who have accrued a massive debt that they cannot pay are recognized as a "housepet". If a student is a male, they will be called "dog" (pochi), if the student is a female, they will be called "cat" (mike). The hierarchy in Hyakkaou Private Academy is absolute where no student can go against it, and if they do, they will await the student council's reprisal. If the student wants to rid themselves of their "pet" status, they have to donate but it will be impossible if the student has either a massive debt to pay off or no money to pay their way out of their status. The hierarchy is described as a perfect dead end which is known by the students as something that is extremely hard to escape. A formal match is the one right given to a house pet. A pet has the right to challenge anyone to a match once. If the betting amount is reasonable, you're not allowed to refuse. It's traditional for members of the student council to accept them with no upper betting limit. Sometimes, the house pets will challenge them for one big game. The Official Matches (公こう式しき戦せん Kōshiki Sen) are a unique right given to students whose rating is a Housepet. These students are allowed to challenge any other student in the school to a wager which is generally non-refusable depending on the amount. Pets can even challenge a Guild member because even they can't refuse the proposal. For students with very high debts, they should pay it back with their own lives from a Life Plan (人じん生せい計けい画かく表ひょう Jinsei Keikakuhyō ): a booklet that was given to these students containing everything that would happen in their lives from the moment they graduated. If that student could pay his debt earlier, the life plan is canceled, but if not, everything written in the booklet would happen in real life; since the student council would use their family connections. Donations are made to the student council, which controls all the gambling. In each graduating class of Hyakkou Private Academy, one student is given the position of their class Valedictorian, a position and title only given to the best gambler of their year. As explained by Ririka Momobami, the position and title of Valedictorian grants whoever gains it immense power and influence, a position that no one would dare give up or lose, so much so that even death won’t dissuade whoever gains the title to give it up. As described by Ririka, its possible for someone to inherit the Valedictorian title of Hyakkou Private Academy and subsequently the power and influence it holds. The Valedictorian of Hyakkou Academy also become members of the their Guardians Society, granting them further influence and power in society. So far, the Hyakkaou Private Academy has had 122 years of history, as such, there are currently 122 Valedictorians. Beautification Council (美化委員) An association working under the Student Council, whose role is dealing with problematic individuals. Unlike other students, they are authorized to arrest whoever is causing issues in the school. While they have a main office inside the school, they also own a special basement where students can be interrogated. After Kirari Momobami beat the Former President in a gamble and took the seat as President, the Council began aggressively centralizing debts of students through gambles, implemented harsh donation requirements, and established the Housepet hierarchical system for those who failed to succeed. Through these efforts and the people entangled, Kirari and the Council created a system of control that extends beyond the school and to the business and financial world. The Council leads other committees and councils to enforce the status-quo, either by sponsoring gambling related events or enforcing the policy that effectively requires debts to be properly settled. Kirari Momobami (桃喰 綺羅莉) is the seemingly invincible 105th Student Council President at Hyakkaou Private Academy and the creator of the current system within the school. She is also the current leader of the Momobami clan, a conglomerate of various rich and powerful families that are aligned with the family of Yumeko Jabami. Kirari is a very light-skinned and average height girl. She has long platinum hair that she wears in two knotted rings with ribbons entwined in them and squared bangs which have cheek length locks on either side. Her eyes are blue and she is shown with matching blue lipstick and blue painted nails.She wears the standard Hyakkaou Private Academy school uniform which is a red blazer with black trim on the cuffs and around the neck and it is decorated with gold buttons that is complete with a black tie. Kirari sports a gray colored skirt with patterns on it, black tinted panty hose and Hyakkaou Private Academy's brown loafers with black soles. Outside of Hyakkaou Private Academy, she wears a black kimono with her family crest on the back and two on the sides. It is decorated with a floral print on the lower half, with a matching obi and white tabi. Ririka Momobami (桃喰 リリカ) is the Vice President of the Student Council at Hyakkaou Private Academy, and the older identical twin sister of Kirari Momobami whose family is aligned with the family of Yumeko Jabami. Ririka's face is mostly hidden throughout the series by a white, theatrical comedy mask that provides vocal distortion. As Ririka is the identical twin sister of Kirari Momobami, the two of them share all of their facial features as they both have pale skin, long platinum hair with bangs that are styled in a hime-cut, peach/pink tinted lip balm, and light blue eyes. Unlike Kirari, Ririka keeps her long hair down and she doesn't wear lipstick or painted nails, unless she is posing as Kirari. Ririka wears the standard female Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform. A red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, a white button up dress shirt, a dark pleated skirt, a tie, and black/grey colored tights and the academy's issued footwear: brown colored loafers with black soles. Kaede Manyuda (豆生田 楓) was motivated to become the student council president because of his father's ambitions, before having his personality and motivations drastically changed following a shattering gambling loss. He's the treasurer of the Student Council. Kaede is a tall, pale-skinned student with well-kept black hair that has bangs hanging on the left side and dark eyes. He wears black-framed glasses with his Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform, a red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, a white button up dress shirt, a black neck tie, and dark, plaid pants. He also wears the academy's issued footwear. Runa Yomozuki (黄泉月 るな) is a member of the Student Council and the leader of the Election Committee who serves as a referee during election gambling matches. Runa is a girl of a very petite posture, looking rather youthful in comparison with other members of the Student Council. She possesses quite a light complexion, long platinum blonde hair with short bangs, split in the middle of her forehead and purple eyes. She wears an orange rabbit kigurumi over the Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform; a red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, a white button-up dress shirt, a dark pleated skirt, a tie and white and black striped stockings, as well as the academy's issued footwear, brown-colored loafers with black soles. She has light pink painted fingernails and is often seen with various different lollipops sticking out of her mouth and playing games. She has orange lip gloss on. Sayaka Igarashi (五十嵐 清華) is the Secretary of the Student Council, and the Personal Assistant of the current Student Council President, Kirari Momobami. Sayaka is a girl of average height with hip-length dark-violet hair that is styled in a side ponytail on the right side where it is tied by a white ribbon with short bangs swept to the left side while she has neck-length hair strands hanging on either side, empty dark-violet eyes and pink lipstick. Sayaka wears the Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform: a red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, a white button up dress shirt, a dark pleated skirt which stops above her knees, slightly longer than how most of the other female students wear their skirts, a black string tie, black socks that go below the knee and brown loafers with black soles. Yuriko Nishinotouin (西洞院 百合子) is a third-year student in Hyakkaou Private Academy, a former member of the Student Council, and the Head of the Traditional Culture Club. Yuriko has long brown hair with bangs parted on both sides and a big red bow on the back of her hair. Her eye color stays unknown due to the fact that her eyes are consistently depicted as if they are closed. However, in the Picture Drama Shorts, it is shown that her eye color appears to be brown. Ayame Nureba describes her as "elegant" and "very beautiful". Her appearance is remarkably different from other students because she does not wear a typical uniform, instead she wears a white and red kimono with floral pattern. This style of clothing is consistent with her role as the head of the Traditional Culture Research Club. Yumemi Yumemite (夢見弖 ユメミ) is the former Student Council's Head of Public Relations and a part-time Idol whose dream has always been to become a famous actress like Kawaru Natari. Yumemi is a very light-skinned girl of average height with long light brown/slightly pink hair that part of them is styled into two ponytails that are tied with white scrunchies and blue eyes with white pupils which are in the shape of star. She wears the Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform but with a purple flower instead of the regular tie. She also sports light pink lipstick and has pink painted fingernails. Midari Ikishima (生志摩 妄) is a second-year student at Hyakkaou Private Academy, a former member of the student council, and the president of the Beautification Council. Midari is pale skinned girl with short black hair, which was purple in the manga, that is styled in a concave-cut and extremely tiny pupil(s). In the anime, her eye color is a yellow-green. She wears a rarely seen variation of the Hyakkaou Private Academy uniform; a sweater vest in the same colors as the school's black and red blazer, a white button-up dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, a dark pleated skirt, purple underwear with a floral pattern, and black socks. She wears the academy's footwear, brown-colored loafers with black soles. She also sports purple lipstick and has purple painted fingernails. She forgoes the black tie and has on accessories such as a purple hairband with a heart-patterned bow attached, and purple wrist cuffs with stripes on either one. She has bandages wrapped on either forearm and wears a white medical eyepatch over her left eye. She is also shown to have two piercings under her mouth, on the left side, one piercing on either ear and a tongue piercing. Itsuki Sumeragi (皇 伊月) is a first-year student who belongs to the Hana class at Hyakkaou Private Academy, and a former member of the Student Council. Her father is the president of a prominent toy company in Japan. Itsuki has chin-length blonde hair with bangs that are swept to the right and reaches her eyebrows with a green hairband in her hair, blue eyes and she has pink painted nails with star-like decorations on them. She wears the Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform; a red blazer with black trim around the cuffs and collar that is decorated with gold buttons, underneath she wears a white button up with a black tie as well as a pleated skirt with black stockings that have silver stars on the sides of them along with a pair of brown loafers with black soles. Yumeko Jabami (蛇喰 夢子) is a second-year transfer student at Hyakkaou Private Academy and the classmate of Ryota Suzui and Mary Saotome. Yumeko is a member of the family of Kirari Momobami that challenges her for Hyakkaou Private Academy. Yumeko is a tall, beautiful girl with a voluptuous figure. She has long thick black hair styled in a hime-cut and burgundy eyes; as soon as she becomes thrilled, her eyes turn bright red. Additionally, she has pink glossed lips and red painted fingernails. In general she bears a striking resemblance to her late mother, and her older sister. She wears the standard uniform issued to female students at Hyakkaou Private Academy: a red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, white button-up dress shirt and black cross tie, a black and grey checkered mini skirt, black tights, and brown loafers. Additionally, she wears a silver ring on her left thumb, which was one of parents' wedding ring. Classes There are different classes, each one with different names. The students from first, second and third year stays on separate classrooms. Each different class has different classrooms for first, second and third year students.
