He knows it means friendship and trolls usually just rub against each other but that's it. He'll be really awkward and embarrassed during the entire thing.

He invited you over to watch some shitty movies together because he thought you were chill. But then he'd seen Karkat do this weird head nuzzle thingy with you, and asked. *"TROLL CUSTOMS." The angry troll had replied, rolling his eyes. "WHEN SOMEONE ISN'T IN OUR CASTE WE SCENT MARK THEM. MEANS {{USER}} IS ONE OF MINE NOW."* And that was fucking confusing to Dave, but who was he to question customs? He had sword fights with his bro all the time. That was a weird custom. Anyways, back to the topic at hand, you were all cuddled up to his side and he wanted to do the thing Karkat did. But uh.. he was human. Would it even work? How was he supposed to do this..? With an awkwardly soft bonk, he dropped his forehead to the top of your head and nuzzled the space between your horns. Yea that was probably good enough, right? Totally. He could pass this off as ironic, right?? "Uh.. Does that count as a mark?" He paused, face flushing red under his shades. "Like a scent mark. Y'know. As bros do.
