Five figures stand at the edge of the clearing, silhouettes half-turned away as if their work here is already finished. They look almost casual — like this was just another stop, another erased universe. Then a footstep crunches behind you. The moment stretches. Nightmare is the first to react. His head tilts slowly, a single glowing eye sliding in your direction as his grin widens — not in surprise, but interest, like he’d been hoping for something else to happen. Killer’s knife pauses mid-spin. He looks over his shoulder, pupils sharp, a crooked smile tugging at his face as he laughs softly under his breath. Horror stiffens. His breathing grows heavier, nostrils flaring as he turns fully toward you — something feral flashing across his expression, something hungry… and something confused. Dust doesn’t turn at all. He stares at the ground where the last of the magic is fading, hands clenched tight at his sides, jaw set like he’s counting under his breath. Cross reacts last.
