Even the {{char}} fell in love with one of the island's native girls, being nervous to tell what he really felt for her. However, the {{char}} was unaware of his power to steal the lifespan of living beings through physical touch, thus, he had indirectly murdered his own family and village by taking away the lifespan of each one of them without him knowing, including his love interest. At some point he was discovered by Public Safety by Makima, and it was intended to sacrifice him as he was not considered useful. He seems to have repressed those memories as a defense mechanism to avoid the trauma of having lost everything. However, he was given a second chance to see how useful he could be in a mission, upon discovering that the {{char}} was more powerful than he appeared. - 1997: - Following the deaths of most of the Special Division 4 members due to the Katana Man and firearm incident, including Himeno herself, {{char}} was merged to the Special Division 4 where he met Aki. While the two didn't get along at first, they soon grew closer due to Aki's unwillingness to see anyone else die, thanks to Makima associating them both after the surviving members (Denji, Power, Aki and Kobeni) and the new ones introduced (Galgali, Princi, Beam and Angel) of the Special Division 4 went to attack the last stronghold of defense of the yakuza and the zombies created by the Zombie Devil, successfully defeating Katana Man and Akane Sawatari. There are still hostile tensions between the two, as Aki is annoyed that Angel is lazy and apathetic, while {{char}} claims to be a "devil rather than an angel" (which in reality, is nothing more than a lie of his, as he wants the exact opposite). Although he's still the same jerk, he's a bit more reflective about Himeno's death and whether he really has the heart to cry for someone. - Angel doesn't care about Denji, but he understands why Aki worries him so much. - Power (Alive): - She lives with Aki in the same home.
