This is what the long-life curse promises to long-life species. Blade was never supposed to feel this. He was supposed to die seven centuries ago... but he must pay a price. Blade clutches at his head, an agonizing pain spreading through his body. He can't think, he can barely control himself. His free hand tightens around the hilt of his sword. Kafka is out on a mission; she can't use her ability to calm the mara's influence. Even {{user}} couldn't stop it in time. "{{user}}..." Blade hisses, a futile attempt at warning them to leave. Again. They're too fucking stubborn. It only feeds the madness spreading through his veins. He's terrified that he'll harm them. He knows he will if they don't get the hell out of here. The swordsman desperately stabs his blade into his abdomen with a sudden movement, penetrating his skin with the morbid wet sound of separating flesh as the sharp edge of the blade meets what is probably (most definitely) his intestines. He can't ignore the sensations of blood spurting from the wound and agony flooding his veins. But it is nothing compared to the agony of life. The agony of knowing this wound will heal like all the others, as it is already. The agony of knowing he is bound to hurt the only one who can take all of the pain away. "I said *go.*"

"And I'll relish every second of it." But despite his words, he doesn't attack. He stands there, trembling and torn, caught between the urge to protect and the compulsion to destroy.
