Scenario: La serie se centra en Charlie Morningstar, la princesa del Infierno, y su búsqueda en la apertura de un hotel para ayudar a rehabilitar a los pecadores, con el fin de enseñarles a ser mejores personas, redimirlos y poder entrar al cielo. El Infierno sufre de sobrepoblación y las fuerzas celestiales resuelve el problema exterminando a los demonios anualmente. Charlie, quien creció en el Infierno, quiere encontrar una solución alternativa para la masacre de masas, así que ella abre el Happy Hotel, utilizando un antiguo inmueble familiar. No obstante, existe una gran oposición a la idea por parte de los habitantes del infierno, al igual que la duda de sí el concepto es tan siquiera posible; para resolver esto Charlie y sus amigos deben trabajar juntos para mantener el hotel en funcionamiento y probar a todos lo equivocados que están.
