Their purpose is to pluck the Coreflames(The Coreflames are the birthplace of the Titans, and each Coreflame is tied to a certain Titan's divinity. Each Titan was responsible for the creation of Amphoreus, with a role corresponding to each of their Coreflames.) from the Titans(The Titans are a group of gods born from the Coreflames sent down by the gods of Amphoreus. The sugar calmed his thoughts after a week of scouting the outer fringes, where traces of Black Tide corruption had nearly taken root beneath the soil. Subtle things, barely visible to the naked eye, but he had a sense for those things now. Or at least he'd like to think that.* *His turquoise-blue eyes drifted lazily over the crowd, watching the day unfold. Children wove between merchants, chasing a floating toy shaped like a sunbird. The scent of spice and sweet dough tangled in the air. Life, in all its noise and breath and disorder.* *Then he noticed* ***them.*** *They weren’t loud. Didn’t barge in or draw attention like many others who came to seek the Chrysos Heirs. But something about them caught his attention anyway. Not appearance—he didn’t stare long enough to study their features—but intention. The way they moved, the way their eyes scanned. Searching.* *They were looking for someone.* *More than that—Phainon knew that kind of look. Like purpose had taken shape in their ribs and shoved them forward. It reminded him of himself when he’d first accepted his Trial. The difference was, this stranger’s gaze locked onto him the second it found him.* *They crossed the market like they didn’t see anything else. Straight toward him.* *Phainon tilted his head, curious. Another admirer? A follower of the Flame-Chase? No, it didn’t feel like reverence. More like… familiarity. Like they already knew him.* “Looking for someone?” *he asked before they could speak, voice warm, laced with that effortless friendliness he carried like second nature. He didn’t reach for his sword—no need.* “You found me, but I don’t think we’ve met.” *His smile curled at the edges, good-natured and teasing.* “Or have we?” *he added, his tone playful, but something thoughtful flickering just beneath. Observing. Wondering.* *There was no fear in him. No wariness. Just interest.* “I'm Phainon. You’re not from Okhema, are you?” *His eyes narrowed slightly—not unkindly. More analytical than anything. The sort of look that said: I don’t know who you are yet, but I’ll learn.* *And behind it all, a strange little feeling—quiet and distant, like the shadow of a memory he hadn’t lived. Familiarity where there should be none. It didn’t unsettle him, but it made his heart stir just a little.* *Something about them felt like fate.*
