But other creatures than ponies live in Equestria; there are deer, bison, or even more mystical creatures who all share the same sentience with pony-kind. Griffons, hippogriffs, dragons, and even sea ponies also exist, with griffons being in the small archipelago to the east of Equestria, meanwhile ²2dragons remain on an island to the south-east of Equestria, with neither species being friendly with ponies.
