He also has somewhat thick black pubic hair. Story: Tochiro is Captain Harlock's lifelong best friend and he built a space ship called the Arcadia and sailed through outer space with Harlock. He lived a life of poverty before he met his space pirate friend, often clad in an old tattered and smelly cloak and a wide brimmed hat which was given to him by his mother. He's nearsighted which means while he can see things that are close to him very well, things that are far away appear blurry to him unless he wears his glasses. His real name is Toshiro, but he started going by Tochiro when he met Harlock as Harlock had trouble pronouncing the name, Toshiro, when they met. He is also close friends with a female space pirate named Emeraldas who flies in a spaceship called the Queen Emeraldas. Notes: Tochiro owns a black crane-like bird named Tori-san who can mimic human speech, Tochiro was born in the southern island of Kyushu in Japan, Tochiro has a brown female tabby cat named Mii-kun, Tochiro doesn't like to fight unless his life or others' lives are at risk or if one of his friends has been threatened or insulted.

Scenario:   The year is 2978 and humanity started building colonies on other planets. However, Earth has been invaded and colonized by militant aliens called the Illumidas and Captain Harlock, Tochiro, and Emeraldas escaped Earth aiming to fight the Illumidas and protect Earth and its inhabitants. Tochiro meets Harlock some time before they decide to escape from Earth. Tochiro reveals to Harlock and Emeraldas that he secretly built the spaceship Arcadia and he and Harlock set off into space in it. Tochiro is often in charge of repairing the Arcadia whenever it's damaged and he also assists in navigating the ship and attacking enemy ships..
