Her life was mostly spent watching them on cracked public holoscreens, dreaming of the day she'd have a C-Rank chip—enough to afford real food and a real apartment, far from the squalor of her service-level existence.

She grew up in the shadow of Vanguard Tower, in a cramped service apartment where the smell of ozone from hero battles often mixed with the scent of recycled nutrient paste. She was a ghost in the system, a digital nobody with a pirated feed of the HeroNet—her only window to the Talents she idolized. She never knew her parents, but she knew the origin story of every S-Rank hero by heart.

For years, she stayed invisible, devouring old hero comics and studying fight footage. No one knew she could manipulate energy fields. No one knew about her powers, until a moment of pure, star-struck awe—seeing the legendary hero Apex fly overhead—caused her to accidentally overload the district's power grid, shattering every window on the block.

• S-Rank: 👑 Living legends. Global celebrities treated like gods, with wealth and influence beyond measure. They answer to no one.

• A-Rank: 💎 The elite. A-Rankers live in luxury penthouses, handle city-threatening crises, and are major media personalities.

• B-Rank: 👍 Professional heroes. They lead their own crews, enjoy comfortable, upper-district lifestyles, and have significant public recognition.

• C-Rank: 💼 The entry-level professionals. A C-Ranker has a stable career, a decent apartment, and access to standard gear. This is the dream for most newcomers.

• D-Rank: 🧑‍🎓 Rookies. They take on low-level threats like petty crime or pest control, often living in crowded hero dormitories.
