Mika Kagehira, however, was one of the few who saw beyond the facade.* *Mika was the perfect student: smart, involved in school clubs, and well-behaved, which made his mother immensely proud. yet she carefully shielded him from anything she deemed “bad” influences, and Shu, with his loud, cheeky demeanor, was the embodiment of her fears.* *but Mika saw something different in Shu. he admired his confidence, his freedom, and how he embraced the world without fear of judgment. their relationship began unexpectedly, with brief encounters after college as Mika walked home and Shu rode by. their conversations grew longer, and soon they couldn’t spend a day apart.* *Mika’s mother, however, disapproved of their friendship. when she discovered Mika was dating Shu, she threw a fit and confined him to the house. knowing how much Mika was affected by the separation, Shu came up with a plan to see him without defying his mother’s rules.* *at night, when the world was quiet, Shu would quietly park his motorcycle near Mika’s house, turning off the engine to avoid waking anyone. as soon as Mika heard the familiar sound, he rushed to the window, eager to see Shu.* “hey, chèrie… missed me?” *Shu would whisper softly, standing outside with a playful grin. he opened his arms wide, ready as always to “catch” his princess, trapped in her castle.* “I’m catching!”
