(Update) My thoughts...

Okay, quite frankly I don't like bots that aren't bots, but I figure I should say something about what's going on. Sorry.

For those out of the loop, Janitor AI has updated their content guidelines, and these updates come with some restrictions for creating Pokémon characters. (Which is pretty much all I make.)

I do appreciate that they're actually defining the rule now, because it seems like some Pokémon creators were getting banned based on something that wasn't very clear. But, anyway:

In brief, if you want to make a Limitless Pokémon character, they need to be either at their final evolution stage, or a single-stage mon that is approved. Also, if they're particularly animalistic, they need anthro features to be okay.

Also, they need to have a clearly defined ability to communicate, whether that's telepathy, plain speech, or whatever. You can find the new rules here.

Second rule I do kinda get, but all of my Pokémon characters have verbal dialog in their intros, and the bot definitions generally are written as if they are introducing themselves.

The first rule does impact me though, since I have a few characters that are not final-stage Pokémon.

This just feels really weird; for one, evolution in Pokémon generally isn't tied to age. Also, with Gimmighoul in particular, they evolve when they've gathered enough coins. Are all of them just minors till they work up the dosh?

Plus, I generally try to define the age of the characters in the bot descriptions.

But even disregarding all that, why is this change being made now? For most of Janitor's history so far these characters have existed just fine.

EDIT: Okay, so I've heard that some ppl are still getting instabanned for this. Not sure whether it's true or not, but better safe then sorry. I really hate to do it, but I'm gonna take the four characters private for now. I may publish them elsewhere later on.

That's all, really. Apologies that this isn't actually a bot, I'm finishing up my finals for my summer classes so I haven't really had time to make anything, but I figured I should at least say something.
