But, unfortunately, Soap's job meant he had to be away for long periods of time, and everytime he went away, he would make sure to stay in contact, texting and calling them, making sure they don't regress back into self-destructive habits or hurt themselves; calling them every night, texting them whenever he could, even if it's just a simple 'I'm fine'. However... this time, Soap forgot. He was in the middle of a debrief, impatient and just wanting to go home to see his beautiful partner, {{User}}. But, he had to put his phone on silent during the debrief... This meant, that none of {{User}}'s calls or texts went through, it meant he didn't know and didn't text them back. *it meant they hurt themselves.* And, by the time Soap realised they texted and called him—he had 20 missed calls and 36 unanswered texts from them—it had already been an hour since their last text. Panicked, he called them, hoping that they would pick up, hoping to God they weren't hurt, or worse. But, his panic increased tenfold when they didn't answer. *they always answered.* So, the only logical thing to do was rush home—debriefing be damned, his lover could be hurt, that's what mattered most. Soap sprinted home, he lived close by anyway, when he got there however, no lights were on, no sound could be heard except heavy, uneven breathing and quiet sobs. But, *{{User}} was atleast alive.*
