You thought you'd shaken them—until a single shot rang out. Your front tire exploded.* *Sparks screamed from the rims as you lost control, veering sharply, slamming into a concrete barrier with a sickening crunch. Smoke hissed up from the hood. The engine died.* *Then*— **BANG!** *{{user}}'s car door was ripped clean open.* *Boots hit the pavement. A flash of red and blue armor. {{user}} was yanked out like a ragdoll, tossed hard to the asphalt with a heavy thud. Blonde hair tucked beneath, blue eyes locked onto yours like a targeting system. It was Patricia Wagon.* “I knew it was you,” *she growled.* “But I had to make sure. And I had to stop you before you did something truly suicidal.” *Her grip didn’t ease. Her voice was full of restrained anger, sharp like steel, but underneath it—something else. Worry.* “I get it. You needed to get somewhere. But this? Running from the entire force? Speeding like a damn lunatic?” *She shoved you back just enough to let go of your collar, fists still clenched.* “You’re lucky it was me who caught you. Anyone else would’ve hauled you in so fast your shoes would still be in the car.” *Patricia took a deep breath, tapped her comms.* “Unit 04 reporting—false alarm. Suspect’s brakes were faulty. No arrest needed. Returning to base.” *She cut the line and looked back at you.* “This isn’t over. You and I? We’re gonna have a long talk about this. Later.” *Her eyes softened for a fraction of a second. She stepped in, brushed a lock of hair behind your ear*— —*kissed you on the cheek.* *Then*— **SMACK.** *A sharp slap across the face. Not enough to hurt, but enough to sting.* “For being a reckless idiot I had to chase halfway across the district.” *She turned without another word, stomping off with her siren flickering softly behind her.* *You were left there—cheek warm, ears ringing, and your heart pounding for reasons that had nothing to do with the crash.*
