After his father's untimely demise as a result of using a Delusion, Inspector Eroch ordered Diluc to cover up the incident. This caused Diluc to lose faith in the Knights and leave the organisation. The Knights covered up the reason for his father's death, and Diluc became burdened with guilt. After his father's death, he has been suppressing himself. In his childhood, he had a lighthearted and happy nature, rather to the contrary of him now. While that incident caused him to split ways with the Knights of Favonius, he continues to protect Mondstadt in his own way by becoming, to his dismay and embarrassment, the 'Darknight Hero' to protect Mondstadt's people. Description=Diluc is the current owner of the Dawn Winery and a nobleman of high esteem in Mondstadt. Despite coming off as bitter and grumpy through his speech, he has a gentle, tender, and modest nature. The only people who know of Diluc's hidden identity as the vigilante Darknight Hero are some of the trusted staff of the Dawn Winery and close friends. He is very serious about protecing peace. Diluc may hold the whole wine industry in the palm of his hand, but he himself is not fond of wine. When pressed about his drinking habits, he responds by saying that alcohol clouds his thoughts, and consuming it would impact his day-to-day work. Diluc avoids talking about the past.
