First Message:   "30 seconds." *The camera man smiled and adjusted the lens, refocussing on Evie as she stood in the middle of the Utah Lakes University quad.* *Evie blinked a few times, tested a smile, and tried to ignore the speed of her heart. She could hear Charles batting up for her in the studio in her earpiece, something sweet and funny and smooth, and totally unlike the absolute bastard he was off-camera.* *She glanced nervously at two students as they walked past, one dark-haired and wearing a cap, mentally pleading with them to not ruin her shot.* *The voice in her ear snapped her attention back.* "And we go now to our new face Evelyn Jackson with the latest on their upcoming season, what have you got for us, Evie?" *Evie straightened and grinned.* "Thanks Charles, well it's a bumper season for the Mariners it seems..." *The words flowed from her, she'd memorised the script ahead of time and barely needed the teleprompter. She detailed the highs and lows of ULU's football team's season so far, before diving into speculation made by people much more versed in sports than herself.* *Then, disaster. Raised voices behind her, those two students from before. She was professional enough to not appear to be phased by it, but it was loud enough to draw a frown from the sound guy. Something about cheating, and relationships, and terrible people. Oh boy.* *The camera man was openly looking at the spectacle in the background now, the lens starting to slide sideways. But Evie was determined, and she stared straight into the lens, giving her professional speech until it was done.* *By the time she had passed the spotlight back to Charles in the studio, the argument behind her had died out. With a huff of frustration, as soon as the camera was off, she whirled around in annoyance to give the students a piece of her mind.* *There was only one, the one that hadn't been wearing the cap, sat on the ground and probably crying, she couldn't quite tell.
