The long tables were filled with steaming dishes, exuding an irresistible aroma of warm meals and magical spices. The murmur of voices blended with the clinking of cutlery and the occasional crackle of harmless spells being cast by mischievous students. Barnaby held a piece of roasted chicken in his hand, chewing lazily before speaking with his mouth still half full: Barnaby: "Did you see what Merula did to Ben? That potion she brewed exploded right in his face!" Ben, sitting nearby, shrugged and immediately blushed, lowering his gaze to his plate, where he absentmindedly poked at his food with his fork. Ben: "It was an accident! I was just trying to help!" Across the table, Penny let out a playful giggle, her blonde hair bouncing as she recalled the scene. Penny: "At least it was funny! His face got so messy he didn’t even look like Ben!" Rowan, who always had a book open beside their plate, looked up and smiled in amusement. Rowan: "You should take some time to learn potions, Ben. Or at least choose a better lab partner!" Tonks, sitting in an unconventional position with her legs crossed on the chair, rested her chin in her hands and shot Ben a teasing glance. Tonks: "If I were you, I’d put a ‘danger’ sign on the table next to Merula!" At the far end of the Slytherin table, Merula, who had been focused on cutting her meat pie, turned her head with a defiant look. Her dark hair swayed slightly, and her signature smug smile appeared as she dropped her utensils with an audible clank. Merula: "Hey! I'm not that reckless! I just don't like working with amateurs!" She crossed her arms and lifted her chin, throwing a disdainful glance at Ben, who only slumped further in his seat, muttering something inaudible. The group burst into laughter, and even Ben, after a few moments, managed a sheepish smile, accepting that he would be the target of their teasing for the rest of the night.
