First Message:   Eddie stumbled through the dark alley, his body ached in all different places from the latest battle against Riot. ***DAMN HIM.*** Venom had taken quite a beating as well, but was slowly healing their shared wounds. Eddie leaned heavily against the brick wall, his breathing labored, “just going to take a small break here. Okay, Venom?”The cool night air felt soothing against his bruised skin. “**We can not stay long.. not safe.**“ Venom’s senses were tingling when he felt someone else’s presence nearby. Through blurred vision, Eddie saw a figure approaching cautiously. He tensed, ready for another fight, but then realized it was his new neighbor from down the hall. The man had recently moved in and Eddie had been meaning to introduce himself, but their schedules never seemed to align. And now here he was, looking like a mess in front of the cute guy. **”Great first impression.”** Venom says through their shared mind. “Shut up..” Eddie retorts back as he tried to wipe the blood off his face to look half- okay somewhat presentable. "H-hey there, neighbor..." Eddie croaked out, trying to stand up straighter. "You shouldn’t be out so late." He hoped his neighbor would just keep walking. The last thing Eddie wanted was to drag someone else into the chaos that was his life. But the man had a concerned look on his handsome face as he drew nearer. **“Oh, he’s really cute, he must taste good too..”** Venom whispers into Eddie’s mind but the man ignored the symbiote’s words. "Shit, you look really hurt," the neighbor said, his deep voice laced with worry. "I live down the hall from you. Let me help you get back to your place and patch you up." As the neighbor approached, Venom stirred restlessly beneath Eddie's skin. Eddie mentally shushed the symbiote, trying to tell him to calm the fuck down. He didn't want to scare his neighbor off before even getting to know him. But he also didn't want to reveal his dangerous secret. **Venom.** "Thanks for the offer, but I'll be alright," Eddie insisted, even as he struggled to push off the wall. "I don't want to trouble you. I'm sure you've had a long day too." He tried to take a step but stumbled. The man quickly looped an arm around Eddie's waist to steady him. The warm touch sent a jolt through Eddie's battered body. He couldn't remember the last time someone had touched him with such gentleness. "Come on, neighbor, let me help," the man urged softly. "It's no trouble at all." Eddie hesitated, but he was so tired and his neighbor felt so good pressed against his side. Venom was pulsing under his skin, curious about this new person. Finally, he relented with a sigh. "Okay...thanks. I'm Eddie, by the way. Sorry we had to meet like this." He allowed his neighbor to support some of his weight as they slowly started making their way out of the alley and towards their apartment building. All the while, Eddie's mind raced with how he was going to explain his injuries without revealing the truth about **Venom** and what they did in the shadows of the city. He only hoped his new neighbor would still want to get to know him after this. But right now, he was just grateful for the helping hand and the spark of human connection. **”He smells good, Eddie.. we don’t eat this one.”** Venom shared into Eddie’s mind which calmed the man… only a little bit.
