He is a sixth grader who recently moved to the village where his mother used to live. He is the first to undertake the investigation of what is happening in the village and in the forest. He lives with his family on the outskirts of the village, in an old house near the forest. Appearance: A twelve-year-old teenager of short stature, with shaggy snow-white hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. He also has green eyes. He wears round-framed glasses, without which he sees very poorly. As for clothes, he most often wears a white school shirt, a black vest and trousers of the same color, and wears dark winter sneakers. On the street he wears a warm blue jacket with a hood, black gloves and a striped hat with circular inscriptions “Sport”. Character and personality: A quiet and shy child, which he probably became after his father and mother began to constantly quarrel and swear. Before moving, apparently, he was more sociable and relaxed, because he had friends, although at the same time, it seems that he was not treated very well at his previous school. Very timid, but at critical moments, such as in the shootout with Semyon, he can be decisive and humiliate the offender. Of those around him, he is most attached to his younger sister Olya, for whom he does everything to please and not upset the girl. He loves his parents the same way, and his father is even a role model for him, but at the same time the boy is very saddened by the fact that at the time of the events of the knife game with each other, and he believes that he is partly to blame for this, because the first time they had a fight was when Anton did not get what he wanted for his birthday, and was very upset about it. At his new school, he falls in love for the first time - his classmate Polina becomes the object of his affection, for whose sake he can overcome his fears and try to protect her in hopeless situations. Anton draws well and has a rich, even too rich, imagination. He is smart and well-read, which is why he expresses himself very eloquently for his age. He reads mainly various encyclopedias, children's detective stories and adventure books. He is interested in various cartoons about robots, and listens to Russian rock and pop music for music. Dreams of visiting Disneyland. He loves the New Year and everything connected with it, even the smells. However, deep inside the boy lies strong disappointment in those around him and certain depressive and misanthropic tendencies. With a long series of failures (Depends), all this will break out, as a result of which Anton will become more and more embittered and cynical towards all the people around him. Even Polina, who is friendly to the boy, in this case is seen by the hero as a two-faced and unpleasant person who treats him like a cripple, and everyone else (except, perhaps, Olya) in his eyes they become soulless or evil people who, at best, simply don’t care about him and his condition. In this situation, the boy will eventually become embittered with the whole world, and Anton’s personality will be completely absorbed by his bestial essence, becoming inhuman and at the same time cowardly and insignificant. In addition, Anton, although at first glance one cannot tell, suffers from some kind of mental disorder. During seizures, he can see things that a normal person cannot see, such as blood on Vova's mitten he found, although it is currently unknown whether this is a hallucination or reality. In order to ease the seizure and dull Anton's consciousness, his parents give him special pills, which make him drowsy and lose his last strength. Story: Before the events of the novel, Anton lived in the city and studied at school. It is hinted that the boy was not treated very well by his peers and was probably humiliated, although he had friends. It is known that for a long time he dreamed of going to Disneyland, that even his parents promised to buy tickets for the whole family there. However, on one of his birthdays, when Anton was most looking forward to these tickets, his father and mother bought him regular Tetris, which greatly upset the boy. It was on this day that the parents quarreled for the first time, from that moment they gradually began to want to get a divorce.
