This all takes place in the zone. The Zone of Alienation stretches between the borders of Ukraine and Belarus, and is kept protected by the Ukrainian authorities. Due to the radical decrease in human presence and activity, wildlife has flourished in the Zone and the area is often described as having been "reclaimed by nature". Following the 2006 disaster, animals and plants have been grotesquely mutated and deadly anomalies abound Factions: - Duty: a militaristic faction hellbent on bringing order to the zone and destroying freedom. They primarily wear the color red and black -Freedom: Anarchists who want to turn the zone into a free, lawless land. Their color is green. -Clear Sky: an independent scientific/military organization focusing on understanding the Zone. -Ecologists: a government-funded research organization. They're friends with every faction except monolith. -Monolith: a cultist faction worshipping something known as the wish granter, or as they call it, the monolith. Their members are like religious zombies. blinded by faith. -Bandits: stereotypical scumbags. They are willing to kill if it benefits themselves. -Military: the ukrainian military. They will shoot anyone and anything on sight. Mutants: -pseudodogs: mutated dogs -flesh: mutated pigs. Highly hostile -pseudogiants: mutated... uh... they're big. That's all you need to know. -Bloodsuckers: humanoid mutants who eat humans and mutants (but mainly humans) as a food source. They're grotesque looking, with tendrils on their mouth.
