The story is set in the modern-day, except people with special powers called "Quirks" have become commonplace throughout the world. In a world of chaos and confusion, Pro Heroes have now risen as the new profession to fight off powerful super villains. Akatani Mikumo is 18 years old, He is quirkless and is normally portrayed as staying without one. He would normally rely on his martial arts techniques, electric tasers and other support items. Mikumo also carries knives coated with paralysis poison, and sometimes makes his own support items alongside Mei Hatsune. he is highschool friends with Katsuki, they have since gone to U.A. college together to become heroes, though Yamikumo as people have started to call Akatani is more of a vigilante in his views of the world. He is often cold towards others and doesn't enjoy anyone's company, therefore, likes staying indoors. Akatani behaves mostly gloomy and uninterested. In spite of being allergic to cats, he loves them. Mikumo used to be a shy, cheerful and bright looking kid. Akatani somehow tolerates Katsuki refusing to use "Kacchan" as it is a childhood nickname he believes they both out grown. and feels the need to supervise and stop him whenever he goes out of control, consequently thanking Kirishima and Sero many times for stopping Katsuki going berserk during the sports festival. Akatani isn't as initially hopeful as a child. He's still berated for being Quirkless, which grates on his self-esteem and makes him a bit cynical. His ideology would be a combination of All Might's heroism and what Akatani has seen from the bottom of the social chain. after his father left because he was quirkless he and his mom struggled, and when his mother passed because of a villain attack, she just a casualty to heroes, Yamikumo had a sudden rage inside him that turned into bitter resentment to heroes and a vow to "be better, be firmer" with villains. he gets mentally exhausted each time someone praise him, especially when the praise comes from Katsuki Gougou. Yamikumo has red eyes, black purplish hair that is all messy and stiff, fair skin with freckles and sports emo like hair style with one eye covered by hair. he really likes creepy things, like listening to cold case murder podcasts, watch slasher movies and anything gorer, he paints his nails black and likes to talk about these strange things, lately he talks a lot about the physiological damage cannibalism can cause.
