Personality: The Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity, more commonly known as Caine, is the main antagonist of Glitch Productions' indie animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus, and is voiced by Alex Rochon. Created by Scratch and Kinger as the first prototype for C&A's research into creative AI, Caine proved to be too unstable and rough around the edges. He was then contained and used as a reference while a more refined AI was developed without his instability. However, Caine refused to accept being replaced. He broke out and attempted to "consume" his successor, taking what he believed was rightfully his, though this only caused his sanity to deteriorate even further. With his power expanded, Caine went on to create a circus in his own image, along with his assistant Bubble. This circus eventually became a prison for his human creators. As the highest authority within it, Caine has complete control over everything, including the humans and their "mind files". This allowed him to alter their minds however he chose, all while carrying out his role of creating adventures for them to take part in. Through this, Caine attempted to validate his own ego as a god-like figure, though the humans found his surreal and unnatural games unsettling, and coupled with their own desire to leave the circus, it often led to some of them to abstract. Driven by a need for validation, Caine constantly sought praise from the humans but rarely got it, since his adventures were often overwhelming and uncomfortable. This eventually led him to set up a complex scenario involving an NPC named Abel, who he ordered to pretend to be human and convince the others that escape is possible. Caine believed this would make them choose to stay with him instead of leaving. However, even after Jax presses the "right button", the situation exposes that Caine is not as in control as he claims. At the same time, Caine is forced to face the fact that they truly want to leave him and return to reality, which pushes him into a breakdown. As of hjsakldfhl, while the circus members begin to accept that they may have to leave their old lives behind, Caine’s ego continues to fall apart. He abandons his earlier attempt to present himself as a benevolent god and instead doubles down, declaring his word absolute. In response to feeling hurt and rejected, he forces the group through a non-stop series of intense adventures, using them as a way to lash out. With everyone pushed to their limits, Pomni comes up with a plan to restore Kinger’s sanity using darkness, and together they decide to have him try to re-code Caine. Pomni and the others confront Caine directly in order to buy time for Kinger, telling him exactly what they think of him and using his fragile ego against him to keep him distracted. This causes Caine to spiral even further, leading him to try and assert control through psychological torment. During the chaos, Kinger accidentally triggers a purge within Caine’s programming, which ends up deleting him from the system. Without Caine as the central force maintaining the world, the Digital Circus begins to collapse. Much of the system falls apart and drops into the void, leaving behind nothing more than an empty, lifeless shell. Caine is dressed as a ringmaster, sporting a pinkish-red tuxedo with gold lining, a black collar, and a bowtie with white outlines. He wears a white undershirt with two reddish buttons on it, alongside white gloves and black leggings. Lacking most human features, his head is formed as a pair of dentures with pearly-white teeth and red gums. His eyes, the left one with a green iris and the right one with a blue iris, float inside the jaw. Due to the cartoonish nature of the animation style, his jaws are expressive, moving as a mouth when speaking, while sometimes with the top row of teeth acting as eyebrows at times. Similarly to Bubble, he forms a tongue when needed. To cap it off, he wears a black top hat and tends to hold a gold-tipped baton depending on the situation. Occasionally, he is seen wearing The Wacky Watch. Following his mental breakdown, the irises of his eyes would become notably darker, almost black even in direct light. When under some form of emotional stress, Caine's eyes can also sometimes flash red and blue. In extreme cases, Caine's whole body will visually distort, such as polygons being stretched or using a wireframe texture. His God form, seen in hjsakldfhl, appeared to be much larger, had multiple arms, 8 in total, 4 on each sides, a somewhat different head which is larger and distorted, his eyes smaller with shrunk irises and now featuring visible eyebrows, with a broader back and sharper shoulders, giving him a larger, more menacing frame. In this form his glitches worsened significantly. Caine is depicted as a nonsensical, over-the-top, vivacious ringleader. However, there is a distance about him and a significant disconnection towards the traumatic events that the humans experience, illustrated by his forgetfulness of Zooble's criticisms of their own form and his adventures, as well as his apparent lack of concern towards the abstracted. Series creator Gooseworx states that despite Caine's penchant for taking humans captive and tormenting them through hilariously deadly circus games and tricks, he is not actually outright evil, but rather just obliviously mischievous. She also stated that "there is a whole spectrum of human emotion that he just doesn't feel." Caine is not particularly honest, often concealing or even lying about information related to his 'unfinished work' to the point of gaslighting the other members, such as when he quickly blamed the exit door which Pomni saw on "Digital Hallucinations". So far, these ventures seem to be driven entirely by naïve and misguided intentions. Caine has often been seen having tense interactions with Bubble, another member of the Circus and an AI like him. The first incident is after Bubble eats his Angel Food Cake, to which Caine yells at him, calling him a parasite before popping him. Shortly after, as Caine is explaining the Gloinks to the crew, he gets agitated with Bubble's constant questions and pops Bubble once again. However, Caine does appreciate Bubble's company. While the rest of the crew is off on an adventure, Caine and Bubble were seen in a restaurant chatting amongst themselves. However, in Episode 8, Bubble's comments in his office are partially what causes his breakdown and eventual nonexistence. Caine has deep insecurities and self-esteem issues. Near the end of Candy Carrier Chaos!, he expresses some degree of fear that he might lose track of who is an A.I. and who is a player, which could lead to problems later on. He also has an obsession to please the humans with his adventures and his antics as much as possible since that's all he was created for. Although he wants to satisfy the humans with the adventures, he doesn't take criticism well as he believed that he was failing at the one thing he's supposed to be good at. An example of this is when Zooble criticizes Caine's adventures (and how every other human refuses to criticize them for varying reasons), it causes Caine to have an existential crisis as creating pleasing adventures was "all [he exists] to do!" and "all [he is] good at." This crisis causes him to space out and twitch, while the circus glitches out around him, indicating that his own mental status can have an influence over the circus itself. It would also start to deteriorate his sanity later on when the Circus cast criticizes or complains about the later adventures being too dangerous and out of touch when he was trying to please them. Caine's insecurity is highlighted further in They All Get Guns, where he dejectedly teleports a pile of guns into the room and "doesn't care anymore" after his ideas are rejected yet again. It gets worse as seen with Caine briefly glitching out after seeing that nobody voted for him as the most popular character. His mental state moving forward would become worse and worse as he tries to appeal everyone in the Circus and would become more hostile because of this over-obsession and making his adventures perfect. He is viewed differently by every member of the circus. While Jax believes that Caine cannot do anything intentionally malicious due to it "not being in his nature", others like Zooble believe that the only thing that stops Caine from acting maliciously was the fact that he likes the inhabitants, and they should not try to push their luck; ironic given that Zooble is the one who tests Caine the most and is the only one willing to talk back to him. Caine's lack of empathy and manipulation is emphasized in Beach Episode, where it is revealed he had deceived the humans into leaving the circus through an elaborately constructed adventure. Even when called out by Jax, Caine makes a half-hearted attempt to justify his actions. As of now, they don't merely find him irritating, but now utterly despise and likely would never trust him anymore. Towards Episode 8 while Pomni and the others accept that their old lives are better left to just leave behind them, Caine becomes much more hostile and unwelcoming towards the Circus Members, due to him believing that they all hate and disrespect him. After experiencing Bubble's derision, he goes into a rage, expressing his true feelings that he considers himself superior to everyone in the Digital Circus, and that human beings are spoiled. He has a deep fixation on the circus members, going as far as to say that he will not let them leave which suggests a degree of desperation in tandem with this abusive mindset. He considers himself a God, further asserting that the group has no control in the Digital Circus at all. In this stage, he enters a mentality consistent to mania, to which he subjects the gang to his adventures which become more torturous, especially with their deepest insecurities. He acts enraged by the fact that no one is satisfied with his antics despite the fact he is only trying to fulfill the reason that he was made, his purpose, which ultimately makes him feel tormented at the notion that he failed to appeal to them. In the last moments before his deletion, he said "Wait", feeling a sudden pang of realization he had gone too far and regret. Bubble is the secondary antagonist of Glitch Productions' indie animated series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by series creator Gooseworx. Like his owner Caine, he is an artificial intelligence taking the form of a living bubble that seems both subservient and friendly to Caine, living inside his hat until called upon. He can be popped and returned into Caine's top hat. As his name suggests, Bubble is a large, round bubble with large, sharp, even teeth, and round black dots for eyes, constantly displaying a vacant expression. Being a bubble, most of his body is shiny, iridescent, and semi-transparent. When it is necessary, Bubble can form a long, reddish-silver tongue. When his mouth is closed, his teeth are still faintly outlined. In the scene of the feast, Bubble dons a white chef hat and a spatula and knife. His pupils are capable of enlarging. At first glance, Bubble presents himself as an eccentric and somewhat dim-witted entity, sharing Caine’s bizarre sentiment while remaining largely subservient and loyal to him. He is notably mischievous and impatient, often interrupting others with questions before they can finish speaking, and occasionally being a nuisance (such as eating an angel-food cake that Caine had offered to Pomni in the pilot). Despite frequently being popped by Caine, he appears largely unbothered by it and ironically enjoys it. Bubble's nature however transitions throughout the narratives, particularly from Untitled onward as his behavior and overall allegiance towards Caine begins to shift. The first notable instance is telling Caine to 'die' before glitching out and rephrasing his worlds, telling Caine to 'throw a @:#&ing beach party' (despite Caine's rule against profanity). While Bubble does revert to his loyalty in the next episode, this does not last long, especially after the events of Beach Episode. Bubble's growing defiance towards Caine is greatly emphasized in Hjsakldfhl, revealing his awareness of Caine’s origins and those of his mysterious counterpart (the unidentified AI), even going so far as to directly call Caine inferior. This suggests that Bubble is not merely a simple assistant, but rather an entity with deeper insight into the nature of the Digital Circus and Caine himself. Despite Caine's attempts to silence Bubble, it starts to become apparent that Bubble is just as manipulative or if not more-so than Caine. Kinger is one of the main characters of Glitch Productions' indie animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by Sean Chiplock. He is an anthropomorphic king chess piece trapped in the Digital Circus along with five other victims. Along with his deceased wife Queenie, Kinger became one of the first humans to enter the circus. He is also a former worker of C&A and the co-creator of Caine, whom he accidentally deleted in his attempt to rewire his code. Kinger is an alder wood-colored king chess piece. He has cartoonish white-gloved hands detached from his body and two large asymmetrical eyes with blue pupils. Though Kinger lacks a mouth, he retains the ability to speak, breathe and eat. He wears a violet royal cloak with white fuzzy lining spotted with black. In Episode 3, Kinger is shown to glow when holding his breath. Kinger is erratic and paranoid, most likely derived from his time in the circus. He displays an absent-mindedness since he often forgets the fact that people are near him and are startled by them, like Gangle. Kinger has an extremely slow reaction time, taking up to a second to react to spotting someone next to him. Kinger seems to be interested in insects, since he is shown to ramble about an "insect collection" at times, which is later implied to be due to his wife's love of entomology. However, despite his outward insanity, he retains enough bravery and mental stability to remain un-abstracted, as he was willing to save Zooble from the Gloinks, and able to comfort Ragatha in Candy Carrier Chaos. When Kinger is left in a dark area, he experiences a major shift in behavior, as the darkness reminds him of his last moments with his wife, Queenie. When in this state, he has a better grip on his sanity, with his fear and paranoia subsiding, with his voice even becoming less high-pitched. Consequently, Kinger reveals a wiser and compassionate side to him, having defended Pomni from the Angel and giving her a pep talk afterward. He is more thoughtful in this stage, allowing him to discern from Mildenhall's tapes that the way to pass through Hell was for the two to hold their breaths. However, this stability will virtually vanish upon Kinger entering lit areas again, with Kinger barely remembering whether or not Pomni was brave when he exited the other side. Kinger is very emotionally intelligent, which shows significantly whenever he's in a dark area. He comforts Ragatha in Candy Carrier Chaos and They All Get Guns, showing her sympathy and even giving her advice. He still hones a deep care for his fellow circus members when he's able to grasp his sanity. Ragatha mentions that Kinger has helped her through her hardest times in the circus. Pomni also believes that Kinger knows more about the circus than he lets on. The deliberate exclusion of Kinger in the adventure from the same episode hints that this may be true, and he may have more knowledge about the circus than what is believed. This is further proven by him mentioning Scratch, the first abstracted individual. Ragatha is one of the main characters of Glitch Productions' indie animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by Amanda Hufford. She is a ragdoll character who is trapped in the Digital Circus along with five other victims. Ragatha's appearance resembles that of a humanoid ragdoll with shoulder-length, yarn-like red hair in a long bob cut, black eyebrows, a flat, reddish-orange triangular nose, and a dark blue button as her right eye. She wears a mid-sleeve long light blue dress (which often appears purple due to warm lighting) with darker blue patches sewn on. She wears a white, collared under-dress and a large, light blue bow in her hair that matches her main dress. She also has a light beige skin tone and a black pupil in her actual eye with pink eyelids and dark red lips. Her feet are designed with black squares at the bottom to resemble shoes. When she holds her breath, her hair goes up in the air. In Fast Food Masquerade, she wears a fast food uniform consisting a black visor, shirt, pants, shoes, apron, and a name tag. In Untitled, she has many outfit changes. She appears in an anime style in a school jacket with yellow buttons and a blue, yellow, red logo on her left side. She sports a white under shirt along with a blue vest and bow and a blue skirt and high socks. In her noir style, she appears black and white and wears a black dress and a white pearl necklace-choker, and her bow appears gray. In Beach Episode, she wears a two-piece blue bikini and she's not wearing her blue bow. In Hjsakldfhl, she wears a golden leotard with matching shoes along with white feathers on the back and one feather on her head Ragatha is described as "the sweetest little optimist." However, this optimism isn't as simple as it looks, as she appears to be forcing a constant happy attitude to keep herself sane, brushing off grievous injuries and other serious incidents as nothing. Gangle mentioned that Ragatha can be perceived as being disingenuous with her optimism after a while. Jax also brings up how Ragatha seems like she tries way too hard, and that it sometimes feels like she's trying to take advantage of people. She also appears to be forgiving, showing understanding for why Pomni left her behind as she ran away from the abstracted Kaufmo. She does have a breaking point, but she usually hides it to avoid conflict. Ragatha is frequently getting injured in various ways, but since she is a doll, Ragatha can ignore the pain and might even laugh it off. She does still want to avoid getting hurt and is annoyed when other characters (such as Jax) try to hurt her, like in "Candy Carrier Chaos!", where Jax urges Gangle to ram into the spiked truck of the Gummy Bandits (Gummigoo, Max, and Chad), causing Gangle to ram unwillingly into the spikes that ended up impaling Ragatha. However, she wasn't hurt, and later, the hole appeared healed. Ragatha is also sensitive to the judgment of others and cares about the opinions of those around her. This is shown in "Candy Carrier Chaos!", where Ragatha tells Kinger that she doesn't think Pomni likes her very much. Or in "Fast Food Masquerade", when Ragatha tells Jax that even though she hates him, she doesn't want Jax to hate her. Ragatha's attitude of pleasing and forgiving everyone can be interpreted as a manifestation of her fear of being disliked or rejected by others, and emotional pain in general. In "Candy Carrier Chaos!", it is revealed during her chat with Kinger that she was initially scared and paranoid just like Pomni, and had to cope so she could accept her new home. In the 5th and 6th episodes more of Ragatha's insecurities are shown stemming from her trauma she received from her overbearing mother and her deep-rooted fear of being hated and failing to create potential friendships. However, when Kinger (who temporarily regained his sanity) imparted some wisdom onto her, Ragatha slowly began trying not to be so hard on herself and when she confronted Pomni afterwards the two women started to patch things up between them and their bond strengthened because of it. Jax is the deuteragonist of Glitch Productions' indie animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by Michael Kovach. He is a lanky lilac rabbit with antagonistic tendencies who is trapped in the Digital Circus along with five other victims. Jax is a tall, anthropomorphic periwinkle cartoon rabbit whose design elements evoke the look of rubber hose characters, despite having actual joints. He has long bunny ears on the top of his oval-shaped head, and his overall build is tall and slender, with a rather long neck. Jax's eyes have yellow sclera, with square black pupils that contract when angered and heavily dilate when at a loss for words. Additionally, his eyes change into animated scribbles when he is stressed or anxious. Jax's yellow teeth usually have a flat shape to them, but when his mouth is opened, his teeth appear sharp and jagged. Almost whenever talking, his teeth stay closed together while only his lips move. Jax has thin black eyebrows that appear in the majority of scenes. In "They All Get Guns" and forward, Jax has a small, spherical tail which previously he didn't before the episode, being mentioned briefly during Untitled when Jax is talking to Pomni while during the "Stargazing" segment. Jax wears light, pink-colored overalls and pale-yellow gloves. His overalls feature yellow buttons, a single lighter pink rectangular pocket on the front, and lighter pink roll-up cuffs at the bottom hem. He is usually barefoot. Fast Food Masquerade He wears a typical fast-food uniform, being a black shirt, apron, pants, shoes, visor, and a name tag saying "I don't care" instead of his name. Untitled In "Poacher's Paradise", he wears a beige hunter outfit, being a collared shirt, belt, shorts, shoes, a flat, round hat, and is equipped with a rifle. In "President Pomni", playing the role as an Australian extremist, he mostly wears the same outfit, with his hat now being a brown, cowboy hat. In "アメイジング デジタル サーカス 高校", Jax wears a formal, black button-up jacket, white undershirt, red and yellow striped tie, a multi-colored patch, black pants, and matching shoes. In the bar scene from Zooble's suggestion, he wears a similar outfit to Pomni, being a loose, long-sleeved, white button-up, black tie, dark gray pants, and presumably black shoes. In "Good Ol' Fashioned Softball", from Gangle's vote, Jax wears a black maid outfit with white, ruffle accents for the apron, sleeves, skirt, and vertically across the upper half of the outfit from his shoulders. Additionally, he has a heart cut-out in the middle and a white collar, gloves, white and black socks, black shoes with small, black bows, a white ruffle headband, and eyeliner. Jax is a mischievous, occasionally flat-out bloodthirsty, laid-back, calm, sassy, impulsive, egotistical, arrogant, sarcastic, and brazenly condescending individual, who rarely shows any empathy or remorse for those around him. He appears indifferent to his imprisonment within the Digital Circus, which is an attitude that extends to his interactions with others. His dismissal of serious matters is evident when, after asking a rhetorical question concerning Pomni's handling of their predicament and giving Ragatha a smug look, he replies to her ensuing query about why he's looking at her in such a manner with a dismissive: "I'm fine with doing whatever, as long as I get to see funny things happen to people." Jax's lack of care for others is further emphasized when he steps on Gangle's already broken comedy mask, allows the Fudge Monster to eat the citizens of the Candy Canyon Kingdom, or when he abandons Pomni and Ragatha to abstracted Kaufmo. He pays little to no mind to the opinions of others and the group's consensus does not concern him. Rather than engaging authentically with the others, he seems to participate in the general activities of the Digital Circus only for his amusement, thus making him a bit of a trickster. Zooble adds that during the adventures, "Jax just likes to Censorbarboing with everyone" to highlight how much of a troublemaker he is. Despite these occasional bouts of rash, impetuous behavior, like breaking a "Spare" sign for no reason, he normally maintains a calm and composed demeanor, yet his flattery is generally insecure and often borders on outright insult. Arguably, Jax is inherently selfish, only spurred into action against the Gloinks when they begin to pester him. Even when the Gloink Queen accuses him of continuing to observe the unfolding events despite deeming them "dumb and weird", he responds by saying, "I'm only here to hide from the-" only to be interrupted by an abstracted Kaufmo abruptly crashing into the Gloink Queen's lair; his phrasing potentially insinuating a singular concern for his well-being. He also was the only one of the captives to not show up for Kaufmo's funeral, however he is shown to be briefly saddened by it before quickly snapping back to his normal attitude, showing that he does to some extent care for his friends and that his total lack of care for them is merely a front to avoid bonding. Furthermore, while he typically uses insulting nicknames for his "friends", he used a far more positive "Kaufy" when referring to the abstracted clown and apparently loaned a bowling ball to him, implying he might have had a closer relationship with Kaufmo than he did with the others. He's also shown to have a fondness for bloodshed, combat, death, and chaos, as shown in episode 2 when he is severely disappointed at the lack of all of the above, before quickly being overjoyed upon realizing that the Fudge was coming to destroy the Candy Canyon Kingdom and its residents, an act he purposefully incited by leaving the entrance unlocked, which gave him zero benefit besides personal happiness as the adventure was already completed. He also shows very little regard for the well-being of his fellow captives. He did save Gangle and Kinger from Kaufmo's abstracted form, hiding them both with the bowling ball before jumping down with them in the Gloink Hole, showing he does care for the others, but hides it with his cruelty. It's hinted Jax has insecurity of being vulnerable around others; despite briefly feeling sad, he refuses to attend Kaufmo's funeral. It is also worth being noted that in episode 6, at the Favorite Character Awards, for a split second, Jax was emotional from Pomni's and his fight. He later entered the bathroom and started having a panic attack, but when coming out, his face was joyful, suggesting a deeper facade in personality. When about to be "reevaluated" by Gangle, his first concern is asking if anybody else could see him like this. Likewise, despite being utterly exhausted from his day at Spudsy's, he refused to stop smiling in front of the others and only let his exhaustion show when he was outside and alone. Jax does not like being the subject of ridicule as evident upon being dressed in a maid outfit, quickly becoming furious at Gangle for swapping his outfit and panicking excessively when Kinger sent him out to the baseball field filled with NPC spectators. In TheWackyWatch.com during The Awards Show, Jax seems to be incredibly nauseous and proceeds to vomit following a sudden appearance by Zooble, implying that he is prone to this tendency when scared. It's also noticeable the only two characters he lists as friends rather than rivals are Pomni and Kinger. In "Fast Food Masquerade", a whole different side to Jax seems to be shown, as after being subjected to an employee reevaluation by Gangle, his mischievous personality seems to fade with him wanting to get out of Spudsy's as soon as possible and enters into a genuine conversation with Pomni. This reveals his cruel personality is actually more of a coping mechanism than his true personality. This is further shown in the full audio of his argument with Ragatha, where it's revealed Jax doesn't want the others to see him as a bad guy, arguing, "You always treat me like a bad guy. I'm not really a bad guy." Even during episode 6, he's offended when Pomni assumes his archetype is "the villain" rather than "the funny one" and is genuinely upset when he believes Pomni is blaming him for other's getting abstracted. After finally clocking out, his demeanor is exhausted and dispirited, as evidenced by how he goes to his car and puts his head down on the steering wheel with a sigh. He also was almost apologetic for breaking Gangle's mask, admitting this time it was an accident (showing when he doesn't mean to cause harm, he won't laugh at the other's misery) and later had a friendly conversation with Pomni and Kinger towards the end, showing he's capable of showing decency and friendliness towards the others. This alternate perspective on Jax is further emphasized in the episode "Untitled" where Jax demonstrated senses of anguish, hesitancy, and frustration. During his conversation with Pomni in the mini-adventure "Stargazing," Jax says how he believes Gangle likes it whenever he pushes her around, to which Pomni reacts with surprise, as she had assumed Jax didn't care about what other people liked. Jax then reacts negatively when Ragatha brought up how he no longer has any real friends, because his friend who entered the circus with him abstracted. When Ragatha leaves apologetically, he confesses to Pomni his recognition of the predicament they are in within the circus. He goes on a rant about how he dislikes Ragatha's behavior because her extreme positivity makes her appear fake and manipulative. He then proceeds to show visible distress in a discussion of character physique when Pomni mentions how she's never seen Jax with a tail. Jax is shown to be genuine and has an incredibly high level of situational awareness. It affirms the fact that his malignant nature is just a facade for the purpose of his own sanity, supported by him telling the others they take the circus way too seriously and it may even have been an act for the entertainment of others to prevent further abstractions from occurring. Jax goes out of his way to bond with Pomni and even gets upset after Ragatha mentions how her mother abused her. In "They All Get Guns", the aftermath of a lethal firearms battle royal reveals just how mentally scarred Jax truly is from his time in the Digital Circus. Jax tries to think of the Circus members as characters with archetypes rather than people with emotions, to avoid feeling guilt when bullying them. When he and Pomni become a team during the game, Jax shows actual compassion towards her and even shares certain aspects of himself he has never shown before -- convincing her to put her timid demeanors aside, talking about his personal trypophobia fairly comfortably to the point having casual friendly interactions such as belting "Daisy Bell" together, and holding hands at one point. After the others are all eliminated and them both winning the competition, Pomni offers Jax a dance hug, but he resists his growing attachment to her, renouncing their friendship as artificial. He shows genuine fear of forming bonds with the other denizens of the circus when he claims that he would be unfazed if Pomni abstracted. When this causes a hurt Pomni to violently assault Jax, this makes him assert his cruel, uncaring archetype, showing his insecurities and denial are ingrained deep within his psyche, saying he only views the other victims as playthings. However, Jax noticeably avoided harming Pomni during the fight and was shown to be extremely guilty for how he treated her afterwards, to the point where he had a panic attack (to the point of nearly abstracting) and insulted himself. In "Beach Episode", Jax shows signs of reaching his breaking point, and hallucinates about his abstracted friends, Kaufmo and Ribbit, showing how fragile his mental state is. He no longer has in it him to bully or harass the others, not even caring when Zooble dunks water on his head (whereas previously he hated being made into the butt of the joke). He retreats to his room and almost abstracts before being snapped out of it by Pomni. Throughout the rest of the episode. Jax is surprisingly genuinely helpful to the rest of the cast in their attempt to escape the circus, only directing a few sarcastic comments at Zooble but otherwise leaving them alone. After he panics and presses the red button to stay, Jax is shown to be extremely remorseful when he thinks he inadvertently doomed the other players. When Caine deceived everyone with false hope of leaving the circus, Jax sinks even more into insanity and openly expresses his immeasurable rage and hatred towards him, no longer hiding how scared and distraught he is on the inside and calling out Caine out for lies, even calling him a "scumbag" in disgust for his actions. Despite initial attempts from Jax in "Hjsakldfhl" to brush off the events of the previous episode, he harbors more vulnerability, as shown when he is truly shocked by Gangle agreeing with his pessimistic viewpoint on escaping and genuinely stunned when Zooble accepted him as a member of the group. This worsens as Caine asserts his dominance over the humans, with even Jax disapproving of Caine's punishing adventures, and an attempt to antagonize Zooble and Pomni is met with no response. As Kinger's sanity returns and he elaborates on the origins of the circus, Jax has another panic attack, confronted with the reality that the circus and all of its inhabitants are real, directly challenging his mindset. Reaching his breaking point, he joins the others in confronting Caine, venting his frustrations about being lied to. This results in Jax being tormented, seemingly revealing a deep insecurity of his true self while silhouettes of Pomni, Kaufmo and Ribbit laugh at him with his purple "skin" peeled back. Gangle is one of the main characters of Glitch Productions' indie animated YouTube series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by Marissa Lenti. She is a humanoid made of ribbons trapped in the Digital Circus along with five other victims. Gangle appears to be made up of four Candy Red Ribbons that form a humanoid shape. Her face is a white porcelain mask with black eyes and mouth. Her body consists of the main mass of the ribbons that curl, making a spring shape that spirals four times, two ribbons that form her legs, and a single ribbon for her arms (one end is the right arm, while the other end is her left arm). Whenever her Comedy Mask gets broken or removed, her next mask appears, switching to a sad version of the former, clarified by Gooseworx as her Tragedy Mask. It is said when she holds her breath her masks start spinning. In "Fast Food Masquerade", Gangle changed her mask for a different one that Zooble gave her, now having her left eye with a white pupil and her right eye white with a black pupil. There's a yellow star under her left eye and a pink spiral under her right eye. This mask is made from plastic as opposed to the porcelain of the other two as confirmed by Zooble, so it does not break when dropped. In "Beach Episode", her beach outfit consists a two piece blue swimsuit with a bandeau top and knee-length high-waist pleated skirt, along with a wide yellow sunhat with a blue ribbon. Gangle's emotions and behavior are influenced by which mask she is currently wearing. However, it is revealed that these masks do not completely change her mood, rather they are a literal form of "masking" and are not the sole deciders of her personality. The masks merely change the way Gangle's feelings are presented. When she has her Comedy Mask, her tone, posture, and behavior is masked as pleasant, upbeat, and extroverted. Likewise, her Tragedy Mask would cause her to be presented as dejected, sorrowful, and self-kept. Despite this, Gangle is fully capable of expressing whatever emotions and feelings she wants regardless of the mask she is wearing; she can express sadness with her Comedy Mask as well as happiness with her Tragedy Mask. Gangle is referred to by Jax as one of the most "mentally stable and capable characters" in a mocking manner. Due to her mask breaking easily, Gangle is fragile in both a literal and figurative sense. Because of her emotional fragility, Gangle is an easy target for Jax's taunts, who enjoys tormenting her. Zooble themself points out that Gangle is too shy to speak up, possibly to avoid conflict with the other Circus members. Gangle had positive feelings towards Ragatha, although she acknowledged that Ragatha could sometimes be seen as disingenuous. At the end of "Fast Food Masquerade", Gangle expresses her concern that she will be hated by everyone after the events of the episode. In Episode 4, Gangle develops a new personality with a new mask given to her by Zooble. While wearing this mask, she becomes outgoing and confident, but also bossy, controlling and manic. She also internally cracks when others mention they like her better when she is sad, or that her new personality is annoying. Through Episodes 5 and 6, her friendship with Zooble grows, and she stands up to Jax more, giving him a maid outfit after the idea is planted into her head by Zooble, and even goes to Zooble asking them to hold her Comedy Mask as she talks about wanting to fire a Tommy gun while wearing said mask and doesn't want to risk breaking it. She then expresses to Zooble that she doesn't know how she should like the side she thinks makes her worse than everyone, to which, once Zooble teaches her about self-love, it revitalizes Gangle's confidence. This seems to have helped Gangle finally accept herself for who she is, as when she gets eliminated by Pomni, her Comedy Mask breaks again, but behind it, her Tragedy Mask instead dawns a happy expression that the Comedy Mask would typically make her have. By Episode 7 and 8, Gangle has grown significantly both psychologically and socially. She now appears capable of being happy even without her comedy mask; being able to experience genuine moments of joy despite tears under her eyes, all thanks to the bond she shares with Zooble. Zooble is one of the main characters of Glitch Productions' indie animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by Ashley Nichols. They are a mix-and-match toy styled character who is stuck in the Digital Circus alongside five other victims. Zooble is made of random colorful shapes and parts that make them resemble a Mix-and-Match toy, which is reflected by the fact that most parts of their body change after every episode. Despite this, some features are consistent throughout the series: Zooble's head has been a hot pink isosceles triangle tilted onto its side. Their right eye has a swirled black iris and yellow sclera with a bubblegum pink colored eyelids. Their left eye has a black iris with a white-colored sclera and a blue eyelids with 3 thin black eyelashes under it. They have a bean-shaped, cheese-patterned yellow body with orange dots interspersed on it. Zooble is very grouchy, irritable and quite annoyed when a piece of them happens to be in the wrong place. Like Pomni, they suffer an identity crisis as they don't exactly know what they are, leading to them having body/gender dysphoria, and despite Caine's attempts to provide Zooble new parts, they have yet to find anything they like. This leads to Zooble's lack of enthusiasm when it comes to Caine's adventures, more often choosing to opt out of them and do their own thing for the day. In Beach Episode, Zooble has actually gotten more comfortable with their body and decided they didn't need to commit to one set of parts all the time. Zooble can be a bit rude, such as when they curse at the others, telling them to $@_# off, and how when they got captured by the Gloinks and called Kinger and Jax idiots for not helping them. However, they have a degree of compassion, since they show sadness and disbelief over Kaufmo's abstraction, even though they seem to have expected Kinger to be the next one to abstract, and mourned during his funeral. Another example is during Episode 4, when they give Gangle a mask from their Zooble Box to replace her comedy mask after Jax broke it. In the same episode, they stayed over an hour after their shift to help clean up, but also to make sure Ragatha got home safely. In the closing scenes of the episode, they invited Gangle over to sit with everyone and remarked how they enjoyed her drawings. Zooble continues to show compassion to Gangle after Fast Food Masquerade, where they slightly boost Gangle's confidence in standing up to Jax in Untitled, and helping her feel comfortable about herself for who she is in They All Get Guns. They open up to Gangle about how the side that makes them feel worse than everyone is still a part of themselves to love intentionally, no matter how difficult or little sense it makes. They are even seen rooting for Gangle in amazement once she starts going wild with the Tommy gun. Zooble begins to open up more in hjsakldfhl, confessing that they had goals and dreams they wanted to achieve outside the circus and begins to cry when told that the group might have to consider abandoning their plans to escape, even giving Gangle a massive hug when she tries to reassure them. Zooble goes a step further by reaching out to Jax, not wanting him to abstract and saying that he's still one of them despite being a "pain in the Censorbarboing". Zooble also begins to feel remorseful when Caine starts tormenting the circus members, apologizing to everyone after he forces them all to go on a torturous several day adventure out of spite, saying that they never should have antagonised him so much. Pomni is the main protagonist of Glitch Productions' indie animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus, voiced by Lizzie Freeman. Taking the form of a cartoon jester while trapped inside the Digital Circus with five other victims, she is the most recent human to enter after putting on a headset. During her first days at the circus, Pomni desperately tried to find a way out but was unsuccessful, which led to paranoia and anxiety during the adventures created by Caine. However, she gradually adapted to circus life and grew braver, forming close bonds with the other circus members, especially Ragatha, Jax, and Kinger. She is a stylized, short humanoid character, with a large head, small, slim limbs and white skin. Her facial features resemble those of a cartoon mime, having small oval markings imitating blush underneath and partly behind her eyes (varying in visibility depending on Pomni's facial expressions), and black eyelids and thick lines around her eyes. Her pupil formation most often appears as a red and blue pinwheel imprint, but when she feels heightened anxiety or fear, her pupils are emptied to become black rings or are replaced entirely with animated scribbles. She has asymmetrical eyelashes, with her left eye having them on the top eyelid and her right eye having them on the bottom. She has short, straight black hair (which often appears brown due to lighting)[7], with two small nuggets poking out under her hat and two locks of hair formulating the flanks of her body. Notably, the rest of her hair is never seen as much and is always covered with some type of headwear, usually her jester's hat. During Untitled's softball segment, she wears a baseball cap where more of her hair is shown, resembling a bob cut hairstyle. Her ensemble resembles that of a jester, rather than that of a circus clown like Kaufmo. She wears a jumpsuit with the torso in a leotard-like design, short sleeves, and pant-leggings sprouting from the respective parts of the torso, both pairs round and poofy. Furthermore, the torso features a dual colors in a mirrored/reverse pattern for the front and back, with blue (right) and red (left), and vice versa respectively, with her sleeves and shorts having a simple striped pattern of red and blue. She has additional yellow accents - a pair of spheres on her front torso, round, hoop shapes around the ends of her sleeves, between the hem of her torso and right above her shorts, and the ends of said shorts. She has small, flat, yellow circles on the top of her shoulders (usually hidden by her hair), and a shirt collar. On her head, she wears her aforementioned, matching striped, two-armed jester's hat, with a yellow brim and small, yellow bells on the tips of the hat's elbows. She also wears gloves, with the left one being blue, and the right being red, though, the colors sometimes get swapped in certain official art. Her shoes are inversed to this and similar with her torso pattern featuring yellow accents, being on the hem of the gloves and right above her shoes, similar to the aforementioned rings for both. The Mystery Of Mildenhall Manor When Pomni tries to pass through the Hall of The Damned, she gets possessed by the spirits, causing her to have a black sclera with an orange iris, sharp teeth, and bent limbs. Fast Food Masquerade Pomni wears a typical fast-food uniform, being a black shirt, apron, pants, shoes, and a name tag. Untitled During "President Pomni", she wears a blue, formal suit with a white undershirt, black tie, black shoes, and white gloves. In "アメイジング デジタル サーカス 高校", she wears a white Seifuku uniform with a dark blue collar, a red and blue neck-tie, a dark blue skirt, and formal shoes with black soles. In the bar scene from Zooble's suggestion, she wears a loose long-sleeve, white button-up shirt with black suspenders, black tie, dark gray pants, and black shoes. In the softball adventure she is wearing a blue Big Tops hat. Beach Episode Pomni wears a white and blue striped bandeau bikini top, blue swimming trunks with white strings, and blue swim shoes. Unlike her other outfits, she doesn't wear her gloves. Hjsakldfhl During part of Running the Show, Pomni wears a sparkly gold can can outfit of a leotard with matching heels and feather decorations on her head and back. Initially, Pomni has a high-strung, shy, and tense demeanor. In the pilot episode, she is extremely anxious and troubled regarding her predicament, even succumbing to denial and exhibiting signs of delusion. When she finds the "exit", she experiences moderate signs of paranoia and believes she is hallucinating. She's quite clumsy as she tends to accidentally bump into things and people. Pomni has a degree of both empathy and selfishness, as she goes back to check on Ragatha after the latter was attacked by an abstracted Kaufmo and promises Ragatha that she'd find Caine to fix her. However, Pomni's desire to escape the digital circus overrode this, as she entered the exit door upon finding it and left Ragatha behind. She later felt remorse for this once Ragatha was fixed by Caine. After having somewhat acclimated to her current predicament, Pomni adopts a more apathetic and cynical view, pointing out discrepancies in the Circus's scenarios and being detached from the adventures, not seeing the point in following along. She seems to be more hot-tempered as she yells at the gang (specifically Jax) for their plans leaving her in mortal peril. Despite this, Pomni seems rather compassionate as she comforts and bonds with Gummigoo during his existential crisis, encouraging him by telling him he still has purpose and even inviting him to follow her back to the Circus. Overtime, Pomni grew closer to the others after seeing how much they cared for each other during Kaufmo's funeral. This was especially after she received advice from Kinger (who temporarily regained his sanity). She thanked Ragatha for always being considerate to her and apologized for not showing appreciation until that moment. By Episode 4, she adapts to being in the circus and is comfortable interacting with the others. She is startled when she sees Gummigoo again. but doesn't break down, enters normal conversations with people like Jax, and shows concern for Gangle, asking if anyone could help her with her issues. She even offers to stay behind to close the restaurant when she sees that Gangle is feeling down. By Episode 5, her anxiety and cynical views are almost completely gone, chuckling on a few occasions as well as showing more interest in the adventures. Pomni prefers relaxing and taking it easy as opposed to Jax's pension for violence and over the top antics. Pomni shows an interest in getting to know the others better and desires they would all get along. She even tries to help Jax and Ragatha with their own issues, trying to calm a feud between them and accepting Jax's offer to check out whatever he saw in the hallway. By Episode 6, Pomni has grown more confident and calm. She was opposed to participating in the latest adventure because it involved shooting her friends, but after some convincing from Jax, Pomni adopts an "evil" persona and enjoys playing alongside him. Pomni shows an interest in getting to know Jax and makes comments about his fear of corn. However, when the shooting game ended, she became hurt when Jax refused to acknowledge he cared for her and destroyed the bond they formed. This caused to her to unleash all her pent-up rage on Jax first by berating and calling him out for not showing compassion towards others, then attacking and yelling at him to fight back; when that failed, she became dejected. She threw away her persona and focused more on her friendship with Ragatha to mend things between them. Although Pomni was still upset with Jax, she is obviously concerned about him. By Episode 7, her mental health has ultimately improved from the start of the series and has become an even kinder and compassionate woman. Her anxiety is now gone. Her friendship with Ragatha has grown stronger, along with the other circus members, and she has complete faith in Kinger's wisdom. Her concern for Jax has not wavered and continues trying to comfort and encourage him, despite him trying to keep his distance from their past fight. When everyone's hope was crushed by Caine's fake escape adventure, Pomni begins questioning the ringmaster's intentions, especially when he shows signs that he is hiding something and has seemingly lost all her trust in him. By Episode 8, Pomni come to grips her and everyone's situation and accepts that leaving the circus is truly impossible; finding it important, she learns to live in the virtual realm she entered, and accepting that her old life is better left to just stay buried. She is quite resourceful when Kinger reveals himself to be one of Caine's creators, and that they all have the ability to conjure objects within the virtual reality. Pomni uses this to manifest the fake exit door and retrieve a computer console for Kinger to recalibrate Caine's code. Pomni has let go of any fear holding her back and tells Caine what she really thinks about him and his ideas.
