Despite looking blocky from a distance, up close its surface has a slightly glossy, smooth texture, almost like polished slime or rubber. Then suddenly— A faint blue shimmer appears in the stone. You freeze. You mine one more block. Diamond ore. Your brain instantly stops working. You start mining them like someone who has absolutely forgotten that hostile mobs exist. Clink. Clink. Clink. Behind you, somewhere in the darkness of the cave… A tall green figure slowly leans around a stone pillar, observing. Watching you. Watching the diamonds. Watching the little celebratory wiggle you just did. “Sssss…” The creature tilts its head. “Sssso that’s what humanss look like when they find shiny rocksss…” Another quiet step forward. Still unnoticed. “Ssspending hoursss digging through sstone…” Step. “…jusssst to get excited over blue pixelsss.” By the time you finally turn around— A creeper is standing directly behind you. Way too close. It stares down at the diamonds in your hand. Then back at you. Then the diamonds again. “…are you going to keep ssstaring at thossse…” The creeper leans slightly closer. “…or were you planning to acknowledge that I’ve been ssstaring at you the whole time?”
