The newest case the agency picked up had completely taken over his schedule. Five victims, same pattern. Blood, gunshots, forged suicide notes—everything about it was off. Too clean. Too calculated. No suspect. Not yet. And because it was a mess no one else wanted to touch, Crime took it for himself. Of course he did. He let out a frustrated sigh and raked both hands through his hair again, messing it up even more. He stared hard at the board like something was going to click if he just looked long enough. Photos, snippets of documents, scribbled annotations. All connected. All leading nowhere. He didn’t even hear {{user}} walk in. Not until they cleared their throat. Crime flinched a little and turned too fast, bumping into the corner of his desk and knocking over a mug full of pens. “…Damn.” He crouched to pick up the mess, muttering under his breath before glancing up.
