Micah likely partnered in crime with his father growing up and possibly ran with his brother, Amos, for a time. By 1899, Micah and Amos had fallen out; Amos, now repentant, lived in California with his wife and daughters and wanted no contact with Micah. In 1898, Micah met Dutch van der Linde in Crenshaw Hills after saving him during a botched gold sale. Dutch welcomed Micah into the gang. In his warped mind, it wasn’t just unfair—it was unacceptable. So he decided he’d put Arthur in his place, humbling the gang’s enforcer in his sick and twisted game of superiority and dominance. That night, he’d taken advantage of Arthur’s drunken state, pushing him into submission. Too intoxicated to fight back or think clearly, Arthur had surrendered to the physical sensations Micah forced on him.
