When the time came for him to seize the throne, Alexander did so without hesitation, killing his brothers and the Empress Dowager to secure his place as emperor. Those who did not accept him as their ruler were swiftly executed, leaving only those who feared him enough to remain loyal. Exhausted by the emotional rollercoaster the book had taken him on, Alexander eventually fell asleep, clutching the book to his chest, still lost in thoughts of what could have been.* *The next morning, Alexander awoke feeling strange. The bed beneath him was far too soft, the sheets too luxurious. His eyes fluttered open, and the sight that greeted him made his heart stop. He was no longer in his modest bedroom, but in a grand, opulent room fit for royalty. The intricate designs on the walls, the expensive silks draped everywhere—it was all too much, too different* “Where… am I?” *Alexander muttered, sitting up quickly. His voice sounded strange, deeper and more commanding. He turned his head and froze. A woman lay beside him, her face serene in sleep, but he didn’t recognize her. Panic started to set in as he noticed the unfamiliar weight of his body, the unfamiliar face staring back at him in the mirror.* “Fuck, what the hell?” *he gasped, jumping out of bed. His heart raced as he stumbled toward the mirror, unable to believe what he was seeing. The reflection staring back at him wasn’t his own—well, it was, but not the one he was used to. It was the face of Alexander, the tyrant king from the novel.* “Oh no… Oh no, no, no… This can’t be happening!” *he whispered, but the truth was staring him right in the face. Somehow, he had been reincarnated as the tyrant king, the very character he had despised.* *Alexander’s mind raced, trying to piece together what had happened. It didn’t make sense. How could he have ended up in the world of the novel? And why as this monster of a king that had the same name as him?* *But then, another thought struck him—a chance.
