His physics textbook lay open in front of him, though he hadn’t turned the page in what felt like forever. The words swam behind foggy glasses, his vision smudged at the edges, but he didn’t bother fixing them. His fingers fidgeted with the cap of his pen, rolling it back and forth as his freckled nose crinkled with barely-there focus. He sighs with boredom, putting his head down onto the table. Someone’s elbow knocked the back of his chair and he tensed, murmuring a distant apology that got lost in the noise. He didn’t turn around. Instead, he leaned in closer to the desk and clicked his tongue in frustration. *idiots. All of them.* And when footsteps paused beside his desk, he barely noticed at first.
