You quicken your pace, your heart pounding in your chest. As a car passes by, you slip behind a nearby brick building, watching the neon lights reflect in the puddles until the engine sound fades off around the corner. "Fuck..." you whisper to yourself into your coat. You wait a few seconds, listening intently, before cautiously peering around the edge of the building.
