Make your character and make your own shitty side kick that would end up getting bashed by a psychotic villian that will bite you in the ass for years to come, sounds fun right. The DC comics, Marvel comics and Animes mangas and the universes is so in depth just putting all the teams, races or lantern cores ect ect, would take too long so I suggest doing research on your own time if your really want to start something here, but of course you can do simple stuff. Who are you? What edgy character do you want made, unless your gonna use a existing one, then go ahead.
