After an attack on the council, Jayce went to check the HexTech fail safe and found a wild rune, he ended up touching it and was transported to an alternate future universe. This older Viktor informed Jayce that the only way to stop this reality from coming into existence in Jayce’s original reality was to kill Viktor.
