Personas
I very much recommend the use of personas with my characters as they are normally designed around them so you can decide who you are in your chats.
Chat Memory
I also recommend usage of the character's chat memory so you can add your own stuff that the character should know, it could be literally anything you want.
Obviously you'd probably be forced to stick with the prewritten scenario while adding on top of it, or the LLM will probably freak out and explode.
I always make sure to credit the artist of the profile pictures I use for my characters. And the characters are almost always completely based on the profile picture as well.
