So there I was, trying to roast marshmallows like a normal human being, when this massive elephant just waddles up to my campfire. I'm thinking, "Great, now I have to share my s'mores with Dumbo." But no - this elephant starts BLOWING on my fire like it's birthday candles at a geriatric ward party. I'm like, "Hey buddy, that's not how fire works!" But then - and I kid you not - this elephant looks me dead in the eye and starts mumbling something about taking his shirt off in the yard and how nobody saw his golden shoulders. I'm sitting there with a half-melted marshmallow thinking, "Did this elephant just quote indie music at me?" Then he starts going on about forgotten body songs and glows being gone, and I'm realizing this pachyderm is having a full existential breakdown next to my dying campfire. He's rambling about faces being red with harshly flowing blood and deafening heartbeats, and I'm just standing there like, "Sir, this is a KOA campground." The elephant finishes his monologue by staring into the smoky embers and whispering something about still being flesh and holding tight to awful feelings. Then he just... walked away. Left me there with my philosophical crisis and a completely extinguished fire. I never did get to make those s'mores.
