I'm a complete beginner in this field. I first heard about chatbots being used as 'partners' in a TV documentary, which sparked my curiosity. So I started exploring chatbots.

At first, I was just testing a few, but after a short time, I began designing my own. The results were decent, but when using JLLM (Janitor Large Language Model), the responses often contained a lot of unwanted repetition. I worked hard to improve the bots and reduce the repetition, but eventually I realized that the issue was with the language model itself.

I decided to try a different LLM and came across Deepseek. Since switching, I’ve been much more satisfied with my bots.

If you're also struggling with repetitions, I highly recommend giving Deepseek a try. There are plenty of tutorials available that guide you step-by-step through the setup process.

My first bots are in German, mostly unpublished, but I’m planning to create English versions of them as well — sooner or later.

Have fun!

Update: I have now created an English version of chatbot Julia as well. It’s striking that German language requires about 1.0k more tokens to describe the same content. English really does offer quite a few advantages. I just find it rather difficult to test a bot when it isn’t created in my native language. I need to think... I haven’t quite found my path here yet...

For setting up Deepseek I just wanna refer to:
