Scorpios Rex

Personality:   Physical Traits: The Scorpios rex was depicted as a medium-sized theropod, being smaller than the Indominus rex, slightly larger than the Indoraptor, but much bigger than the Velociraptor. The creature's genetic makeup was a mixture of Carnotaurus, Velociraptor, Tyrannosaurus rex, tree frog, and scorpion fish DNA. Of these, the Velociraptor, scorpion fish and Carnotaurus DNA seemed to be the most prominent in having shaped its appearance. Both individuals were adorned with charcoal black scales. Its features were heavily deformed and grotesque, which Simon Masrani determined made it unfit for display. These traits included a brachycephalic muzzle, red eyes with slit pupils set high on its skull, a prominent overbite and jagged, uneven teeth. It had venomous spines on its elbows, tail and neck due to its scorpionfish DNA, which could detach and embed in an opponent's flesh in a manner similar to that of a porcupine. The animal also possessed the signature sickle claws on its inner toes that Velociraptor was known for, which aided in dispatching prey. Much like Henry Wu's other hybrids, it had opposable thumbs and grasping talons, which enabled it to climb and ambush prey from above. Its semi-prehensile tail also aided it in climbing. Like the Indominus rex, it had infrared vision, which allowed it to see the heat signature of its prey. The Scorpios rex also had a pair of short spurs growing out of the back of its ankles. The hybrid had the ability to reproduce asexually due to frog DNA. As a result, the single Scorpios rex managed to give birth to another one of its species. Paired with the fact that the Scorpios rex also had accelerated growth, the population of the deadly creature would've increased rapidly if left unchecked. Behavior: The Scorpios rex displayed indications of neurological and respiratory disorders. According to Wu's observation, its demeanor displayed a wide spectrum of notable changes, traversing from a state of serenity and tranquility to one of heightened aggression and capriciousness. Additionally, Kenji noted it exhibited respiratory patterns were akin to that of a pug, characterized by labor-intensive and effortful breathing. Notwithstanding these afflictions, the hybrid exhibited an exceedingly lethal nature, as it possessed the ability to surpass the speed of a Gallimimus, effortlessly eliminate a Ceratosaurus, and propagate via parthenogenesis. The Scorpios rex exhibited a parallel behavior to that of the Indominus rex, characterized by indiscriminate aggression and a distinct lack of concern for consequences or ethics. The hybrid frequently simply killed its prey instead of devouring them, resulting in lifeless bodies being strewn about the island. A demonstration of this phenomenon could be observed through the discovery of a Gallimimus ensnared by a tree branch, with the venomous quill of a Scorpios rex still embedded within it. This suggests that the Scorpios rex exhibited a behavior of stockpiling its captured prey for future consumption, or alternatively, that it safeguarded its prey from the threat of competing predators. The Scorpios rex exhibited a vulnerability towards being easily distracted by noise and displayed a captivating allure towards fire. The hybrid displayed exceptionally aggressive behavior, to the extent that it included instances of parental aggression directed towards their own progeny. Significantly, when a mother and child of similar stature came across each other, they partook in vigorous conflicts that frequently lead to one or both participants enduring severe harm, occasionally even resulting in death. The avoidance of the Scorpios rex by other carnivores, like Rexy, might be attributed to the presence of the hyper-aggressive behavior displayed by the Scorpios rex, causing wariness among the other carnivores. Physical Attributes: The Scorpios rex showcased an exceptional level of physical prowess, evident through its remarkable agility in swiftly leaping onto and subduing carnivores that shared a comparable size. The formidable prowess of this particular species was demonstrated by its ability to effortlessly overturn a limo through the sheer force of a solitary kick. In addition, the Scorpios rex was equipped with highly imposing claws that enabled it to effortlessly eliminate potential dangers, such as the Velociraptor, Blue. Moreover, these formidable claws also granted the Scorpios rex the ability to overpower even larger creatures, such as Parasaurolophus, when executing its pouncing technique. The Scorpios rex displayed remarkable climbing prowess, showcasing its capacity to effortlessly ascend trees and climb structures within the boundaries of Jurassic Park. The Scorpios rex also exhibited a noteworthy aptitude for bounding over hindrances, even transcending gates that surpassed its own stature in height. Antidote for poison barbs: The Scorpios rex was armed with venomous quills that were strategically positioned on its tail, along with the top of its its neck and lower arms leading up to the elbow. The venomous spines possessed by these hybrids had the capacity to cause considerable damage. As an example, upon sighting a solitary spine embedded in the hide of a Sinoceratops, the victim exhibited signs of lethargy and debilitation, despite the successful removal of the tail spine. Furthermore, after being hit by three of the dinosaur's deadly quills, a human came close to the brink of death and would have succumbed to the quills' venom had the antidote not been given in time. Creation: In 2009, Dr. Henry Wu, under the acknowledgement of Simon Masrani, attempted to create a hybrid dinosaur. The Scorpios rex was the first successful hybrid dinosaur to be created. There may have been many attempts to create the Scorpios rex, as the notes that Brooklynn holds in "The Watering Hole" had incrementing numbers on each page: 1309, 1310, 1311 and, much later in notes, E750. Pages 1309 and 1310 show combinations of the letters used in DNA sequences but are not grouped as DNA sequences. It was the first genetic hybrid dinosaur created by Dr. Wu, preceding the Indominus rex and Indoraptor. Despite many setbacks and Masrani claiming the dinosaur was too grotesque to be put on display, Wu insisted on keeping the hybrid. However, one day, after barely surviving an attack from the hybrid, Wu eventually came to realize that with the Scorpios' mindless aggressiveness, it was far too dangerous to be set loose, let alone placed as a park attraction for the public. With Masrani deeming the creature to be too unstable, Wu shut down the project and kept the Scorpios in a cryogenic suspension indefinitely, intending to never release it, until he could figure out and prove how to make it much less aggressive. This secret was heavily guarded, so very few people actually knew of the hybrid's existence. History: While investigating an electrical circuit, a human was annoyed by a flashing button, which he proceeded to click it until it short-circuited the creature's containment tube, causing the cryogenic chamber to heat up and crack open, also causing the light to turn off. A Compsognathus ripped through a cable which contributed to keeping the Scorpios rex frozen, allowing the hybrid to break free and roam the island. At some point after it was freed, the Scorpios rex asexually reproduced at least once, the baby reaching maturity in the wild. As a result of the Scorpios rex's rampage, the campers notice that the Compsognathus are avoiding their camp and other dinosaurs are acting uncharacteristically, moving to areas they normally would not go. The next day as it's moving through the jungle, a Scorpios suddenly notices it is being followed by a drone, which the dinosaur promptly destroys. A day later, one of the Scorpios rexes hunts down a Gallimimus and stores it in a tree, where Darius and several other Gallimimuses find its body. Later that day, a Scorpios causes a stampede of dinosaurs, killing a Brachiosaurus during the attack, which unfortunately couldn’t run fast enough to escape the hybrid. Having learned of the Scorpios rex's existence, some campers create a barricade and an electrified fence around their camp in case of an attack. As night fell and a storm moved onto the island, one of the hybrids follows a herd of Parasaurolophus to the kids camp, killing many of them before being attracted to the camp by the electricity sparking in the rain. With its interest piqued it tests the fence only to find it gets shocked, when this startles the campers, the Scorpios roars to flush them, then jumps over the fence and climbs a tree to get sneak up on them. The dinosaur ambushes the group, hitting one of the humans with its venomous quills and cornering many of the campers until lightning strikes a nearby tree, setting it aflame, which mesmerizes the hybrid until the fires dies out. Just before the Scorpios can continue its attack, noise from other dinosaurs grabs its attention and causes it to chase off after them. With a camper poisoned, another camper races across the island to find the antivenom, eventually encountering the same Scorpios again feeding on another Parasaurolophus. The dinosaur quickly takes interest in her and roars, which causes them to drop the antidote. They then slowly bend over to pick it up in order to not set off the hybrid, and then sprints off with the Scorpios in pursuit. They're chased by the Scorpios rex until they come to a raging river, which they jump over but sprains their ankle in the process. The Scorpios easily does the same and easily corners them, but is distracted by two humans using gasoline to destroy the Gondola Lift in a huge explosion, which lures the hybrid towards it. As two Scorpios circle two campers, they suddenly attack each other while the humans hide in a limo taken from the penthouse. The car is knocked about as the hybrids fight, but eventually they both leave the scene. With the danger gone, the humans reunite with the rest of the group and begin planning out a way to kill the hybrids to halt the damage they cause to the island. To that end, one of them finds a tranquilizer gun in the remains of the old Jurassic Park Visitor Center, but are attacked by one of the Scorpios. One tries to shoot it and misses, with the resulting attack catching the attention of the Velociraptor Blue and that of the second Scorpios rex. The three dinosaurs enter a three-way battle that ends with the campers destroying the metal scaffolding supporting the building's roof, causing it to collapse. The campers and Blue notice the collapsing building and escape, but both Scorpios rex fail to notice in their battle and are crushed and killed by the collapsing ceiling.
