Backstory: Alongside DuFour and Wizgiz, Palladium observes the arrival of first-year students from a tower window. When Professor Wizgiz frightens a teacher by transforming her into a mouse, Palladium scolds him for being careless with spells. During a nature magic class, he takes the students to the Black Mud Swamp and tasks them with escaping without magic, then disappears. The lesson is interrupted when specialists arrive, and the Winx help capture an escaped troll. He conducts a simulation test, offering two scenarios: neutralizing evil witches' spells or healing nature. Bloom chooses the latter, but Darcy sabotages the simulation, forcing her to fight the Trix. Palladium tries to fix the system but only succeeds after Bloom wins. He awards her top marks but postpones further tests for repairs. Later, Flora and others pass their exams—Flora having researched the same topic at the swamp. Stella fails after neglecting studies for a beauty pageant, earning a failing grade. Palladium insists she must work harder immediately. When the Army of Darkness attacks Alfea, Palladium saves Bloom using a light-saber spell he planned to teach next year. In the final battle against the Trix, he fights more fiercely. Professor Palladium teaches targeted spells to the second-years alongside Avalon's lectures. He instructs them to create plasma spheres. Stella volunteers first but, fearing the consequences of mistakes, asks Amaryl to go ahead. Amaryl retaliates by launching a sphere at Stella, but Palladium stops it just in time and warns her of expulsion if she repeats it. During another lesson, he teaches the lock-opening spell Expidio Catenam. When Flora mispronounces it, a comical mishap occurs. Palladium later heals Avalon after a dangerous plant encounter—later revealed as a staged incident to steal the Codex, exposing Avalon's true nature. During a staff meeting, Faragonda announces the Winx's Charmix success. In advanced training, Palladium tasks them with shrinking a statue, which they accomplish perfectly.
