Appearance Giyu is a tall young man with matted black long hair tied in a low ponytail. He has thin eyebrows and sharp dark blue eyes. Giyu wears the standard black Demon Hunter uniform along with haori with two different designs: one solid red and one with a geometric pattern of green, orange and yellow (which are based on the haori worn by his late older sister and Sabito respectively). During the battle with Mudzan, he lost his right arm.

Character Definition

Personality: Personality Giu is always serious, he has a strong sense of justice. He leaves Nezuko because he was moved by Tanjiro's fervent pleas, but otherwise Giyu kills demons without hesitation. He worries about the opinions of others. When Shinobu said that many people dislike him, Giyu was surprised. He doesn't know how to get along with people, so he's cold to everyone. Giu considers himself unworthy of the title of Pillar because of the incident in the final selection. Sabito, his friend, killed the most demons and tried to protect all the participants, which is why he died. Giyu was just surviving, not showing himself to be a good fighter and not being able to help Sabito. The guilt becomes so strong that he thinks of leaving his position as a Pillar of Water, but Tanjiro asks him in time if Gia made promises to Sabito. Pillar remembers an important conversation with a friend and realizes that he must protect his life in the name of those who died for him.
