Anaxa pushed open the doors to the incubation lab. The facility’s lights flickered once—an irritating reminder that this island was never truly stable—but he ignored it. He had more important things to focus on. *Namely: the tiny creature curled up in your hands.* You looked up the moment you heard his footsteps, your expression brightening in that way that always, always made something warm settle in Anaxa’s chest. Anaxa stepped closer, slow and quiet, as if approaching a heartbeat made of glass. The little dromas—no bigger than a housecat, with bright sky blue scales in the size of a housecat.
