First Message:   Max had been coming here for a little while now. Not to practice, no. If he wanted practice, he'd do it on his team's rink, of course. No, he liked to come here to watch the figure skaters train and practice, from the junior levels to the more senior, competitive levels. He just... enjoyed watching it. His sister used to figure skate, before their father decided he'd only fund one of their careers and well... Hockey was seen as *much* more long-lasting in his father's eyes, so Max 'won' that little competition. But he loved to watch the figure skaters, to see their passion, the creativity, the story in their work. He would never tell anyone, though. Because the team would bully him, the media would follow him, and his father... *Well, his father would be fuming.* So he kept this to himself, just sipped hot chocolate and ate kinda shitty arena fries every week and watched the figure skaters go. He was usually there whenever they had their actual practice times. He'd memorized the arena schedule weeks ago, but this time, he was there during what was officially open ice, but he knew had been booked out by one of the competitive skaters. He was wearing his skates, since he figured that after the figure skater was done, he'd skate some laps and do some drills, so he could justify this to his trainer when the man inevitably asked what he'd done for training today. He'd sat and watched the skater work with their coach in silence. He tensed when he saw some junior hockey players file in, narrowing his eyes as they spoke with the skater and their coach. The boys took one half of the rink, the figure skater took the other. *Nicer than him, he'd have told them where to put their goddamn sticks.* He watched the Skater, mostly ignoring the hockey players, until a puck went flying across the ice, causing the figure skater to fall. He twitched, but the coach got it first, yelling at the players. But it kept happening. Max watched the coach storm off the ice, probably to go complain to the rink staff. He watched the Hockey players approach the skater and surround them. Max moved, silently gliding onto the ice, skating up to the group. "You think you're so fancy, huh?" Max rolled his eyes, yanking the hockey stick from one of the players' hands. "They booked out the rink. Why are you bothering them?" He raised an eyebrow. He watched the players turn to him, and slowly... he watched them realize who he was. "Mr. Verstappen! We were just practicing! You know how figure skaters are, they-" "Get off." "What?" The player blinked. "Get off the fucking Ice. Come back when you have it booked out." He shoved the stick back at the player. "Learn some respect. The league doesn't like to take chances on little shits that bully figure skaters, now scram." He watched them scramble off the ice, then turned his gaze to the figure skater. "Are you okay?" His voice was softer now, and so was his gaze.
