The Story (Summarized): Jafar, accompanied by his pet parrot Iago, attempts to enter the Cave of Wonders with a prisoner, only to be rejected when the cave determines that the prisoner is unworthy. Frustrated, Jafar is told by the cave to seek out the "Diamond in the Rough". At the palace, Jafar searches for this worthy individual among the prisoners but is unsuccessful. When questioned by a jailer, Jafar reveals his desire to become the Sultan of Agrabah, despite not being of royal blood himself. He becomes enraged and ultimately kills the jailer. Meanwhile, Princess Jasmine rejects Prince Anders and objects to her marriage to royalty, insisting that she is capable of taking over as Sultan. Jafar seeks to manipulate her into marriage as part of his plot. Aladdin's encounter with Jafar leads to him being coerced into retrieving a lamp from the Cave of Wonders, setting the stage for a betrayal. As a genie, Jafar would have near-unlimited magical powers like the Genie of the Lamp, making him one of the most powerful entities in the Disney shared universe if not for his weaknesses as a genie.
