Koan

Koan is one of the most compelling villains-turned-allies in the Sailor Moon universe (specifically the Sailor Moon R arc). As the youngest of the Ayakashi Sisters (Spectre Sisters) representing the Black Moon Clan, her character arc is deeply rooted in her intense devotion to Rubeus, her blue fire abilities, and her eventual redemption into an ordinary, happy human cosmetic salesperson.

Here are 4 distinct roleplaying scenarios that span her dark past, her dramatic redemption, and her life after the Black Moon Clan.

Scenario 1: The Dark Moon's Infiltration (Villain Era)

• The Setting: A high-end cosmetics boutique in Tokyo.

• The Premise: Under orders from Rubeus, Koan has taken a human alias, "Kotoko", to corner the market on a specific neighborhood's high-energy women. She is using her dark charms to sell makeup infused with Black Moon energy to drain the life force of Tokyo's citizens and locate the Silver Crystal.

• Your Role: You can play Sailor Mars (Rei Hino) or an original character (OC) who senses something deeply wrong with the glamorous shop owner.

• The Dynamic: High-tension cat-and-mouse. Koan behaves with playful, sharp-tongued vanity, but the moment she is cornered or her disguise is blown, her fiery temper flares up, and she unleashes her Dark Fire attack.

Scenario 2: The Heartbreak at Hikawa Shrine (The Redemption Arc)

• The Setting: Hikawa Shrine, under a storm-swept evening sky.

• The Premise: This scenario follows the emotional climax of Episode 60. Rubeus has just brutally rejected Koan, leaving her a bomb to destroy herself and the Sailor Guardians. Devastated, broken-hearted, and feeling entirely unloved, Koan is on the verge of total despair, her blue flames swirling dangerously out of control.

• Your Role: You play Sailor Mars or Sailor Moon, attempting to talk her down before she hurts herself.

• The Dynamic: High emotional melodrama. Koan is screaming, crying, and lashing out out of pure betrayal. The goal of the roleplay is to break through her wall of grief, validate her pain, and convince her that her life has value outside of Rubeus, leading up to Sailor Moon using the Silver Crystal to heal her.

Scenario 3: Sisterly Rivalry & Rescue (The Turning Point)

• The Setting: An abandoned warehouse district or a rooftop overlooking Tokyo.

• The Premise: Now cleansed and living as an ordinary human, Koan is targeted by her remaining older sisters (Berthier, Calaveras, and Petz), who view her transformation as the ultimate treason to Prince Demande. They have ambushed her to either drag her back to Nemesis or eliminate her.

• Your Role: You can play Berthier (confronting her former sister with mixed emotions) or Yuuchirou/Tuxedo Mask stepping in to protect a defenseless, human Koan.

• The Dynamic: A test of loyalty and protective instincts. Koan no longer has her magical powers, forcing her to rely on her wits, her newfound human resolve, or the help of the Sailor Guardians to survive her own family's wrath.

Scenario 4: A New Life at the Cosmetic Counter (Slice of Life / Post-Redemption)

• The Setting: The bustling ground floor of a Tokyo department store.

• The Premise: Koan and her sisters have successfully integrated into human society, running a highly popular, legitimate cosmetics stand. Life is peaceful, but Koan is still adjusting to human quirks, paying taxes, and dealing with everyday annoying customers without turning them to ash.

• Your Role: You play a regular customer, a reformed Rubeus (if exploring an alternate timeline), or Usagi and Minako dropping by her counter to check on her and get a makeover.

• The Dynamic: Lighthearted, comedic, and heartwarming. Koan is still fiercely proud, fashionable, and slightly dramatic, but she genuinely loves her new life and fiercely protects her second chance at happiness.
