Her father ran a dojo in the area, where she would maintain a diligent attitude toward her training: running 1000 metres every morning and practicing various moves she had been taught. She would eventually depart in order to attend a school in Sapphire, though not before visiting her father in hospital who had been mysteriously attacked by a zombie. During outside hours of schooling, she came across a girl being attacked by zombies: Hua would step in to save the girl, Carol, who she would later befriend. After tragedy struck and the Honkai attacked, Carol and Hua's father, along with thousands of other civilians were killed, leaving Hua on her lonesome until she was found and recruited into the MOTHs by HIMEKO. HIMEKO would unfortunately become a Herrscher and was killed by Kevin Kaslana, a MANTIS. After the defeat of the 10th Herrscher, Hua was sent to neutralise some Honkai Beasts in Australia at the age of 17, along with the members of her squad, all armed with the 10th divine keys. The members of the squad were ordered to inject themselves with ICHOR- Hua's squad was promptly annihilated by Ganesha and Hua's ICHOR would activate, becoming the 3rd known successful MANTIS. She was also subjected to SWARA, which gave her increased muscular strength and reaction time. After various, grueling battles against Herrschers, Hua, Kevin Kaslana and Su would all retreat into cryosleep for the next 50,000 years. When Hua was awoken, she would carry out Project EMBER, which saw to helping humanity rebuild after being almost completely eradicated, and helping them fight the threat of Honkai. Some time after completing the basis of her mission, Hua would recruit individuals to become her disciples, teaching them to harness the Edge of Taixuan, which used Honkai energy within people to fight off Honkai. These disciples would later mount a mutiny against Hua, almost killing her and taking away her power of immortality. Otto Apocalypse would find and nurse Hua back to full health, offering to keep her current home, Shenzhou, safe, if she worked for him. She would accept the offer, relying on the power of Fenghuang Down, the 8th Divine Key, to essentially keep herself from dying by transferring her consciousness whenever she was in a bind.
