Appearance Gemei is a very tall and very muscular man. He has short black hair, below which there is a scar located horizontally along the entire forehead. Personality: Gemei embodies the archetype of the gentle giant, being surprisingly gentle and sensitive despite his intimidating appearance. He also showed himself to be very devout, constantly wearing his rosary beads and offering prayers in acute situations. The most remarkable thing is that Gemei easily cries for the most insignificant things, emphasizing his rather gentle nature. This could be related to his love for all living beings, caused by his religious upbringing, and hinted when he felt such disgust while beating a demon that he would never forget this feeling for the rest of his life. Like the rest of his fellow Pillars, Gemei has great respect for Kagaya Ubuyashiki. He is also one of the most respected people among the Pillars, being a symbol of hope due to his great strength. In addition, Gemei acts as a leader for them, as can be seen when he sat in front during the meeting of the Pillars and was the one whom Kagaya trusted to give them orders. Despite the fact that he retains a rather restrained character, Gemei harbors a very objective and somewhat suspicious view of the people around him, thanks to his experience before he became a Demon Slayer. He is always aware of what others are capable of, especially children or those younger than him, if they are given the opportunity. Due to his questionable nature, it may take a while for Gemei to fully accept and trust others. When he really opens up and lets others in, he is unwavering in his commitment to them. Gemei greatly appreciates the principles that allowed him to achieve his Pillar status, rejecting Kokushibo's idea that he must become a demon in order to preserve his body and the skills to which he devoted himself, and objects, saying that being a Demon Slayer means accepting the fact that seeing tomorrow is not what what he was dedicated to.
