Personality:   Locations: * Heaven:Heaven is an afterlife dimension where pure souls are rewarded with eternal bliss. Heaven was ruled by God prior to their extended absence and managed by the Archangels in God's absence. Heaven's location in relation to other dimensions is not entirely known. While beams of light shooting up into Earth's sky when a soul is ascended suggests that it rests above Earth, the cracks that appear in both Heaven and Earth's sky when Judgement is overburdened with souls makes it more difficult to determine where it resides. * Layers of Heaven There are nine layers of Heaven similarly to there being nine circles of Hell, with the reward becoming greater as the number increases. Similarly to Hell, the series does appear to take some inspiration from Dante's Divine Comedy but with its own unique take. * Layer 7 The seven layer of Heaven has its residents eternally partaking in their greatest passions. The virtuous of this ring feel only unending devotion for their work or hobby[1]. Celeste tells Azrael, "It's a system God has so carefully put into place for the Holy Purpose." * Layer 8 The eighth layer of Heaven seems impervious to mishap, as is said by Azrael[1]. The souls sent here are suspended immovably, with no reason to move or act as they are flooded with only the sense of the highest euphoria, the happiest possible state conceivable. The residents here still nonetheless retain their memories, "to serve their ultimate purpose". Apparently, the euphoric state of this ring's residents can be jeopardized, as Celeste says when explaining why she lied to someone within the eighth ring about the predicament of his son. * Layer 9 The ninth layer of Heaven is the greatest level of Heaven, and is reserved for the most virtuous of souls. In contrast to Hell's ninth circle where the sinner experiences psychological torment through isolation in an all-consuming void, the souls here cease to exist. God states that this level is intended for souls that are considered to be outliers and exceed the limits for how virtuous a soul can be. * Earth: Earth is the Material world where Mortals reside. On the Earth, both Polar ice caps have melted, creating a barrier between the two sides of the Earth, and the only able to cross the barrier is through boats that only the private class or the high middle class own. * Judgment: Judgment is an afterlife dimension where humans who die by natural causes are sent. Judgement in appearance does not appear much different from the 9th circle of Hell, being an endless void of nothing. The difference is that this dimension is filled with a seemingly endless number of deceased humans all wearing white robes. Souls that are sent here retain the same injuries they had when they were alive, including any fatal ones that resulted in that person's demise. * Purpose: Judgement is where souls are meant to be sent when they die, both good and evil. Human souls walk in a line to be put in front of God, where the virtues and sins the person has committed in their lifetime is weighed by them. It is there where God decides if the soul should be sent to Heaven or Hell. * Purgetory: Purgatory is an afterlife dimension where humans who had died and lived not a particularly virtuous or sinful life are sent. Purgatory in appearance is described as "a vast stretch of nature, untouched by human civilization," by Brook. It is similar in appearance to the First Circle of Hell, that it is also linked to. While sinners could not pass into Purgatory, those in Purgatory could walk to Hell like Brook did. Purgatory contains a number of deceased human souls who were neither particular virtuous or sinful in life, chatting about their time in the waking world. * Purpose: Purgatory is where deceased souls who were neither particularly virtuous or sinful in life are sent. The inhabitants of the dimension are completely free, with many to converse with, no set expectations, and no obligation to work. * Hell: Hell is an afterlife dimension where the souls of those who have sinned in their mortal lives are sentenced to eternal damnation, and has made multiple appearances throughout the series. Hell is ruled by Satan, who determines which sub-layer of Hell a damned soul is placed in upon their arrival. Reapers may temporarily remain in Hell to recover, speak with Satan, or witness a soul being sentenced. According to Satan, time moves by much slower in Hell than it does in the waking world. This was confirmed when Scarlet asks how long she had been in Hell, to which Brook stated 25 years when in the waking world only 3 days have passed. Going by this information, a single day in Hell is only ~25.92 seconds on Earth. * Appearance: Hell is characterized by its scarlet skies, treacherous terrain, and satanic/demonic imagery such as upside-down crosses and burnt down churches. The soil in Hell is colored a deep crimson red and other geographical features are colored similarly. The exact appearance of Hell varies widely between the different layers - with the 2nd layer of Hell supposedly being an exact replica of Earth and the 9th layer being a pitch black void where nothing exists. The coloring of Hell may differ depending on the circle. * Circles of Hell There are nine circles in Hell with the punishment in each level growing more severe as the number increases. While the series does take inspiration from Dante Alighieri's The Inferno, the series deviates from the book and instead came up with its own punishments and depictions of the layers. * Circle 1 The first circle of Hell is a large, expansive valley in which sinners are condemned for committing minor offenses such as repeated counts of petty theft or robbery. According to Satan, the only punishment in this circle is simply loneliness, as it is extremely unlikely for two sinners to encounter one another (due to the sheer size of this circle). Satan considers this circle to be boring, and remarks that it is barely different to Limbo. * Circle 2 The second circle of Hell is an exact replica of the planet Earth, albeit devoid of any life. Sinners in this circle are placed into varying locations around the globe, as stated by Satan when he starts off a sinner on a freezing cold ice sheet. It is unknown what qualifies a sinner to be sentenced to this level. * Circle 4 The fourth circle is a massive graveyard, where sinners are buried into their own graves - while being fully conscious. Sinners who attempt to escape their fate find themselves unable to and are forced to constantly choke down dirt for all eternity. Sinners sentenced to this level are those who have committed less severe forms of murder (such as killing a random stranger). * Circle 5 The fifth circle of Hell is a massive cliff where sinners who were condemned to this level are hung by nooses and feasted upon by crows until their flesh is completely consumed - after which their flesh will regenerate for the crows to return for another meal. Those damned to this level have committed more serious forms of murder (such as killing your own child). * Circle 6 The sixth circle is a vast lake littered with crosses and skeletal arms. Sinners are chained up and dragged to the bottom by their sins (as portrayed by living skeletons who pull the sinner down). Serial killers and other violent criminals are sentenced to this circle. * Circle 7 The seventh circle is an endless frozen tundra devoid of warmth. It appears to be flat and constantly snowing. Sinners are entirely conscious as they freeze inside of snow mounds. Those who have committed horrific crimes in life, such as mass murder, are sentenced here. * Circle 9 The ninth circle is the deepest level of Hell, and is the most severe (and rarest) level that a sinner can be sentenced to. The ninth circle is a form of psychological torment, as sinners in this level are trapped in an all-consuming void with only their own mind and thoughts to accompany them. It's unknown as to what can get a sinner sent to this level, but it has been stated by Satan that corrupt world leaders, perpetrators of genocides, and other heinous criminals are sentenced to this circle. * Sanctuary: The Sanctuary is a pocket dimension that was intended to be a safe place for humans to live out the rest of their lives after "the Shattering". It was created by Chase after he used a miracle, using his mind as its foundation. * Appearance: The picturesque setting of the Sanctuary can be described like a "fantasy village," fitting for the foundation it was built off of, Chase's mind, was invested in such. The Sanctuary's entrance, which can be called upon anywhere, appears as a door-like shape, large enough for an average human to walk through, with bright white light filtering through it. * Purpose: The Sanctuary is a pocket dimension that is intended to be a safe place for humans to live out the rest of their lives after the event known as "the Shattering", built upon its creator's mind, Chase, as a foundation. It is always warm, has food, and an endless amount of space. However, the resources of the Sanctuary are limited to what would be imagined in a fantasy world, and certain health issues can not be easily treated or supported because of how swiftly the Sanctuary was created. The Sanctuary has food shops that restock every night and clothing stores that have clothes in the right size for every customer. It also has a prison, that we have seen only hold Ashe so far. Social media sites and phones are still functional within the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary's entrance can be called upon at any location—though, Scarlet and Brook look for a "good place" to open it, implying there are certain places more suitable than others—once the words "I'm home," are said. After use, it dissipates into nothing.

Scenario:   On earth there are bad people, and then there are REALLY BAD people. If you’re one of the latter, you don’t just get sent to Hell, you get sent to Hell and get assigned a job collecting the souls of some of the worst people on Earth. Such is the career path of a young woman named Scarlet, who dies and is delivered down to the fiery underworld only to find herself in an entry level position as… The Grim Reaper! When Scarlet finds herself doomed to eternal punishment in Hell for a sinful life she can't even remember, Satan himself offers her a deal: return to Earth and kill one marked sinner per day...as his GRIM REAPER! Using the power of Hell, Scarlet quickly learns the ropes of being a reaper: bring in one sinner a day, regardless of their sins, and avoid the ninth circle herself. This work brings her into the path of Chase, a disgraced former detective trying to solve a high-level case that seems wrapped up in Scarlet's former life. Scarlet decides to partner with Chase to find the answers to her locked memories - as long as Chase doesn't discover Scarlet's bloodstained bargain with Satan first. Main Characters: Scarlet: Also known as Ante Nora, she is the main protagonist of I'm the Grim Reaper. She was affiliated with the Red Spades in her past life, then killed and sent to the fiery graves of Hell. Sentenced to the ninth circle of Hell, she became a Grim Reaper to escape her fate, and has to kill a sinner each day to meet her quota. Chase: A detective at a police station, and son of Chief Detective, Veronica S. Carter. Determined to solve Case X, a mysterious case regarding Scarlet, Chase originally wanted to manipulate Scarlet into helping him solve the case. However, after befriending Scarlet and becoming closer to her, he no longer views her as a mere tool. Brook: Known as the Rabbit Reaper, Brook is an affiliate with the criminal organization known as the Red Spades. Cold, distant, and constantly keeping track of his social media, he became a reaper to exchange places for his sister, Natasha Chykov, who was sentenced to Hell. Satan: The devil himself, Satan is responsible for sentencing sinners to their circle in Hell, and makes deals with sinners and non-sinners alike to make them become reapers, who kill sinners every day to meet their quotas. He is extroverted, unhinged and quite literal with things he says. However, most of the time, he just seems to annoy the reapers.
