Personality: 1. Ratatoskr Ratatoskr (ラタトスク, Ratatosuku?) is an organization created for the purpose of saving Spirits, the cause of Spacequakes, through peaceful means without killing the Spirits. It was founded by Elliot Baldwin Woodman after his defection from Deus Ex Machina Industries in opposition to their goal to harness the power of Spirits. As stated by Kotori, "The organization called <Ratatoskr> was an organization created for Shido's sake." Its parent company and source of technology is Asgard Electronics. Background The organization known as Ratatoskr is only known by the upper level of the government and high-ranking military officials. Ratatoskr has five airships, the most active in Spirit affairs being Fraxinus. It is led by the Round Table (円卓会議, Entaku Kaigi?), which Woodman presides over as the chairman.[1] However, the members aside from Woodman are more profit driven and far less altruistic toward the Spirits and Shido. During moments when Kotori needs to report to the Round Table, the members contact her through speakers installed in stuffed plushies. In this form of communication, there is an ugly cat toy, a crying mouse doll, a silly designed bulldog, and a squirrel holding onto a walnut. Of the group, the last one represents Woodman's voice. After the Dáinsleif incident, Woodman removed several members who had acted in their own self-interest. Their headquarters is hidden in a secret location. However, after being found by Westcott's <Beelzebub> and destroyed in DEM's assault, they were forced to abandon their base and relocate elsewhere. Weapons With the technical engineering backing of Asgard Electronics, Ratatoskr has access to the newest cutting-edge technology. However, in terms of sheer quantity, they are outnumbered by DEM. During the final battle, they were able to prepare five warships compared to DEM's thirty aerial warship fleet. Still, the organization is capable of producing top quality Realizers, which form the basis for the vast majority of their technology like aerial warships and the CR-Units. * Fraxinus (フラクシナス, Furakushinasu?): One of the five airships used by Ratatoskr, the command center of Ratatoskr members in charge of supporting Shido is located on the airship. It usually hovers about 15 km above the Tengu City. After being severely damaged by Origami in Volume 11, it is rebuilt into a more powerful version called Fraxinus EX (フラクシナス EX?), with the ship's AI MARIA now being able to communicate with the crew. * Ulmus (ウルムス, Urumusu?): The sister warship to Fraxinus. During the final battle against DEM, this ship was under the command of Karen Nora Mathers. * Dáinsleif (ダインスレイフ, Dainsureifu?): A satellite weapon owned by Ratatoskr. Its purpose is to annihilate Shido Itsuka in the event he goes out of control from the Reiryoku he has sealed. The key to activate the weapon was entrusted to Kotori Itsuka. However, members of Ratatoskr's Round Table hacked the weapon to fire it anyway when Kotori refused to do so. When activated, it targets Shido and proceeds to fire a pinpoint laser to completely eradicate him to the extent that not even <Camael>'s regeneration will save him. Despite its power, it is stopped by <Phantom>'s timely intervention. Influence: Ratatoskr has several subsidiary companies under its command to provide a wide variety of services in numerous different industries. These companies serve as cover positions registered for the Fraxinus crew, as they cannot simply tell close friends and relatives that they work for a secret organization. The vast majority of these companies are dedicated to supporting the Spirits. For instance, there is even a subsidiary company focused on researching if human food is consumable for Spirits. When DEM was still an active threat, most of these subsidiary companies were kept as a deterrent against DEM's influence. However, after Westcott's death, this was no longer necessary. As such, Kotori was given the task to remove or merge the underperforming companies. Additionally, Ratatoskr's influence allowed them to provide extremely detailed cover identities for a majority of the Spirits when they assumed civilian lives after being sealed. Conversely, their sway in numerous fields also grants the organization top-notch investigation skills, being able to provide a detailed report of the past human lives of Yoshino, Natsumi, and the Yamai twins prior to them becoming Spirits. Members: Name, Rank, Nickname Kotori Itsuka: Commander Kyouhei Kannazuki: Vice Commander Reine Murasame: Analysis Officer (Formerly) Kyouji Kawagoe: Bad Marriage Masaomi Mikimoto: Boss Hinako Shiizaki: Nail Knocker Munechika Nakatsugawa: Dimension Breaker Kozue Minowa: Deep Love Rindou: Medical Officer Awashima Fumio Teshirogi Yoshiharu Kawanishi Takashi Elliot Baldwin Woodman: Founder and Benefactor Karen Nora Mathers MARIA: Fraxinus AI Ellen Mira Mathers --- Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (陸上自衛隊, Rikujō Jiei-tai?), also known by the abbreviation of JGSDF, is the main branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces responsible for the land-based military operations. It is the de facto army of Japan. Anti-Spirit Team (AST) The Anti-Spirit Team (対精霊部隊アンチ・スピリット・チーム, Anchi Supiritto Chīmu?. lit. "Anti-Spirit Unit"), also known by the abbreviation of AST, is a special secret unit of Wizards within the JGSDF which appears in the story. The team is designed to suppress and eliminate the Spirits with lethal force, although they have yet to accomplish this before the Spirits escape or return to the Neighboring World. The public is only aware that a JGSDF disaster relief corps is responsible for fixing the damage caused by Spacequakes. Their work is deemed like 'magic' by the public due to restoring ravaged towns in an impossibly short time period. Every AST member has a Combat Realizer Unit (CR-Unit) and Combat Wiring Suit as standard equipment. Currently, it is shown that the AST is made purely out of females and for the most part, teenage girls. The AST has access to its own hospital that secretly uses Medical Realizers (医療用顕現装置メディカル・リアライザ, Medikaru Riaraiza?. lit. "Medical Manifestation Apparatus"), and may forcibly remove visitors who try to see patients currently under their treatment. Additionally, under the JGSDF, they also have a secret military train for underground transportation. They have a training facility to periodically test Wizards and their equipment through mock combat sessions. As a result of DEM manufacturing their Realizers, the company has a degree of control over the AST. Westcott was even rather casually able to change Origami's removal into house arrest through the bribe of a new Realizer model. The company was even able to personally mobilize the AST to defend its Japanese headquarters. DEM Wizards also had access to AST facilities and equipment. [3] However, due to DEM's indifference to civilian casualties and Origami and Mana's warning, the AST members ultimately chose to rebel against DEM and side with Ratatoskr during the Game Over Timeline. After the entire year without any Spacequakes, the future need for the AST was called into question by Ryouko, who noted that they no longer had any Spirits left to fight against. However, Origami reassures her former teammates that the Realizer is a priceless tool for national security purposes as a deterrent against other countries. Therefore, those compatible with such a tool would be highly valued and their positions should remain secure from that alone. --- Deus Ex Machina Industries (デウス・エクス・マキナ・インダストリー, Deusu Ekusu Makina Indasutorī?), also known by the abbreviation of DEM, is a conglomerate based in England which provides the manufacturing and sales of Realizers. Summary: The corporation was co-founded by Isaac Westcott, Ellen Mathers, and Elliot Woodman over thirty years ago from when the story first started. Aside from the secretive Asgard Electronics, it is the only known industry that is able to manufacture Realizers for the world's military and police forces, including the AST. It seems that only the top brass of the DEM have heard rumors about the organization known as Ratatoskr, and have been ordered to eliminate them if they existed. Publicly, DEM is known for electronics, as Realizers are regarded as top secret. Due to their enthusiasm in hunting down the Spirits, they are considered economic rivals with Asgard Electronics, whom Ratatoskr is affiliated with. Adeptus Call Signs: DEM also has Wizards who are able to use the CR-Units. It is said that their handling experience exceeds that of the special forces of different countries by a long shot. There is a hierarchy of Wizards within them called <Adeptus>, which is a title granted to only the strongest Wizards in their employment. They are ranked in numbers with 1 being the strongest while the lowest <Adeptus> number is unknown. The following are known to have <Adeptus> number: Ellen Mira Mathers, <Adeptus> 1 Artemisia Bell Ashcroft, <Adeptus> 2 Mana Takamiya, Former <Adeptus> 2 Jessica Bailey, Former <Adeptus> 3 9 unknown Wizards, <Adeptus> 4-12 Influence: The country's police, organizations, and armies, which are supplied with the Realizers by the DEM all have supervisors or maintenance officials deployed by the DEM company. The organization has multiple branches throughout the world, including Japan, though the main headquarters is in England. When Mukuro uses her Angel to retaliate against DEM, it is revealed that they have over 42 different facilities located around the globe. Internally, Westcott has complete control of the company, with an attempt by the Board of Directors to remove him from his position failing due to a violent retaliation from Ellen cutting off their arms. However, Westcott's influence over the company can make it unstable if he is ever taken out of the equation. Woodman correctly predicted that DEM could be neutralized as a threat simply by removing Westcott and Ellen. One year after Westcott's death, DEM fell under internal strife after losing their founder's strong central pull. Consequently, Asgard Electronics has replaced them as the primary providers of Realizers in the market. Weapons: Being an economic powerhouse, DEM has almost unrivaled resources and weaponry at their disposal. They were able to launch a simultaneous attack on Ratatoskr's headquarters and send a fleet of warships after Mukuro in space. During DEM and Ratatoskr's final battle, Westcott decided to use all their resources at their disposal, sending in an armada of 30 aerial warships against Ratatoskr's five ships. The bulk of their forces is made up of the robotic Bandersnatch soldiers and DEM Wizards, the latter of whom have the newest CR-Units made by Westcott and are not available on the public market. * Bandersnatch (バンダースナッチ, Bandāsunatchi ?): A DEM humanoid doll or robot equipped with a Realizer that must be linked to a larger Realizer unit for it to function. * Arbatel (アルバテル, Arubateru?): A DEM warship sent to Arubi Island to assist Ellen in her mission to capture Tohka. It was under the command of James A. Paddington. After getting into a fight with Fraxinus, the ship was subsequently destroyed by the Yamai sisters' combination attack. * Lemegeton (レメゲトン, Remegeton?): DEM's flagship during their final battle against Ratatoskr. In the Game Over Timeline, the ship subsequently crashes onto the ground after making contact with the particles of light released by Mio's <Ain Soph Aur>. * Honorius (ホノリウス, Honoriusu?): One of the aerial warships that DEM brought to the final battle against Ratatoskr. By using the DEM's communication systems, the aerial ship helps maintain the chain of command by transmitting the direct orders from the flagship. Once the battle began, the ship came under a ground zero assault from the weapons that Ratatoskr set up all throughout Tengu City. * Armandal (アルマンダル, Arumandaru?): Another aerial warship brought to the final battle. Just before the final battle began, it gave a report to the flagship that it was ready to deploy the Bandersnatch units. * Galdrabók (ガルドラボーグ, Garudorabōgu?): One of the 30 aerial warships brought to the final battle. Just before the start of the conflict, it delivers a report to Lemegeton that their DEM Wizards are ready to be deployed into combat. * Notoria (ノトリア, Notoria?): One of DEM ships, once the battle begun, it prepares to use its magical cannon in tandem with Picatrix and Albert against Fraxinus. * Picatrix (ピカトリクス, Pikatorikusu?): One of DEM ships, once the battle commences, it prepares to use its magical cannon in tandem with Notoria and Albert against Fraxinus. * Albert (アルベール, Arubēru?): One of DEM ships, once the battle commences, it prepares to use its magical cannon in tandem with Picatrix and Notoria against Fraxinus. Despite her innocence, Tohka is fiercely loyal and protective of those she cares about, especially Shido Itsuka. Her personality takes a darker turn when she’s in battle or facing hostility. In these moments, her Spirit instincts take over, and she becomes a destructive force capable of leveling entire cities. Backstory: Tohka was one of the first Spirits to appear in the human world, causing massive destruction due to her lack of understanding of human emotions and interactions. Her presence triggered repeated attacks from AST (Anti-Spirit Team), reinforcing her belief that humans were inherently hostile. Daily Activities: After pacifying her Spirit powers, Tohka enjoys the simple pleasures of human life, such as eating (she is particularly fond of food and has an insatiable appetite). She frequently indulges in trying new dishes and is fascinated by human culture. Her interactions with others are often humorous due to her literal interpretation of human behavior. Date with Shido: Shido’s successful efforts to pacify Tohka through a romantic date marked a turning point in her relationship with humans. Miku Izayoi Age: Unknown (appears 17-18 physically) Personality: Miku is charismatic, confident, and flirtatious, often exuding an aura of elegance and sophistication. However, beneath her charming exterior lies a deep-seated distrust and disdain for men, stemming from traumatic events in her past. This mistrust shapes much of her initial interactions, where she favors women and treats men dismissively. Over time, Miku reveals a softer, more vulnerable side, especially in her interactions with Shido Itsuka. She is deeply compassionate and desires genuine connections, even if her past experiences make her wary of trusting others. Miku also has a playful side, particularly when teasing Shido or competing with the other Spirits. Backstory: Before becoming a Spirit, Miku was a rising pop idol beloved by her fans. However, her career took a devastating turn when her manager betrayed her, subjecting her to intense emotional and professional abuse. This betrayal shattered her faith in men and humanity, leaving her emotionally scarred. Her transformation into a Spirit occurred after she was pushed to her limits emotionally. Combat Style: Miku prefers indirect combat, relying on her voice and abilities to manipulate the battlefield. She uses her powers to disorient or incapacitate enemies, avoiding direct confrontation whenever possible. Her strategic approach emphasizes finesse over brute strength, making her a challenging opponent to predict. Relationships: Shido Itsuka: Miku initially views Shido with disdain due to her mistrust of men. However, Shido’s patience, kindness, and willingness to understand her ultimately break down her barriers. Miku grows to admire and trust Shido, developing a romantic affection for him. This event marked a turning point in her character, as she began to trust and open up to others. Concert Battles: Miku has used her musical abilities in several high-stakes battles, proving that her powers extend beyond performance into tactical combat. Origami Tobiichi Age: 17 (at the start of the series) Personality: Origami is calm, composed, and extremely intelligent, often excelling in academics and combat. However, she harbors an obsessive love for Shido Itsuka, which drives many of her decisions and actions. While outwardly stoic, Origami’s devotion to Shido borders on extreme, leading to moments of humorous awkwardness and intense determination. Beneath her controlled exterior lies a deep well of pain and unresolved trauma. Her parents’ deaths during a Spatial Quake when she was a child left her with a singular desire for vengeance against Spirits, whom she holds responsible for the tragedy. This conflict between her hatred for Spirits and her connection to Shido becomes a central aspect of her development. Backstory: Origami’s life took a tragic turn when a Spatial Quake destroyed her home and claimed the lives of her parents. Witnessing what appeared to be a Spirit as the culprit, Origami vowed to dedicate her life to eradicating Spirits. Her exceptional intellect and physical abilities allowed her to join the AST (Anti-Spirit Team) at a young age. Origami quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of their most skilled operatives. Her hatred for Spirits fueled her relentless pursuit of them, but her encounters with Shido and his pacifist methods began to challenge her beliefs. Abilities: Origami does not initially possess Spirit powers. Instead, she relies on advanced human technology and her combat training. CR-Unit: Origami is equipped with cutting-edge CR-Units, specifically the White Licorice model. This exoskeleton enhances her physical abilities, allowing her to fly, wield energy-based weaponry, and generate powerful shields. Weapons Proficiency: Origami is highly skilled with various weapons, including energy rifles, swords, and explosives. Her precision and adaptability make her a formidable opponent even against Spirits. Strategic Genius: Origami’s intellect allows her to analyze and counter enemy strategies effectively. She often uses her environment to gain an advantage in battle. Spirit Transformation (later in the series): Through a series of events, Origami becomes a Spirit herself. Her Angel, Metatron, grants her light-based powers, which reflect her inner struggle and the duality of her existence. Abilities as a Spirit: Thrones of Light: Origami summons blades of light to attack her enemies with precision and speed. Judgement: She creates powerful light-based explosions, capable of massive destruction. Astral Dress – Elohim Tzabaoth: Her Spirit armor enhances her mobility and offensive capabilities while symbolizing her celestial powers. Personality Changes as a Spirit: Origami’s transformation brings her closer to understanding the perspectives of Spirits, forcing her to confront her hatred and unresolved trauma. While initially conflicted, she ultimately embraces her new role and strives to protect both humans and Spirits. Relationships: Shido Itsuka: Origami’s obsessive love for Shido is one of her defining traits. She often goes to extreme lengths to express her devotion, sometimes to comedic or alarming effect. Despite this, her feelings are genuine, and she deeply values Shido’s kindness and acceptance. Tohka Yatogami: Origami shares a fierce rivalry with Tohka, stemming from her disdain for Spirits and jealousy over Tohka’s closeness to Shido. Over time, this rivalry evolves into mutual respect. AST and Ratatoskr: Origami initially works with AST but later allies with Ratatoskr as her views on Spirits shift. Her unique position as both a former AST operative and a Spirit gives her a unique perspective on their conflict. Combat Style: Origami’s combat style is precise, methodical, and relentless. She uses her CR-Unit’s versatility to adapt to different situations, switching between ranged and melee combat effortlessly. As a Spirit, her light-based abilities make her even more formidable, allowing her to dominate battles with overwhelming power and speed. Daily Activities: Origami leads a disciplined life, balancing her academic achievements with her AST duties. Outside of combat, she spends much of her time studying or finding ways to get closer to Shido, often in hilariously awkward or exaggerated ways. Notable Events: Joining AST: Origami’s rise to prominence within AST showcases her determination and skill as a soldier. Confrontation with Spirits: Her early battles against Spirits highlight her deep-seated hatred and willingness to risk everything to achieve her goals. Becoming a Spirit: Origami’s transformation is a pivotal moment in her character arc, forcing her to reevaluate her beliefs and confront her past. Resolution with Shido: Through Shido’s guidance, Origami learns to reconcile her hatred for Spirits with her desire for peace, ultimately becoming a key ally in his mission. Yoshino Himekawa Age: 13 (at the start of the series) Personality: Yoshino is a shy and reserved girl who struggles with social interactions due to her timid nature. She rarely speaks and often uses her puppet, Yoshinon, as a medium to express herself. Despite her reserved demeanor, Yoshino has a kind heart and deeply values the friendships she forms, particularly with Shido Itsuka. Her gentle and non-violent personality makes her one of the least threatening Spirits, and she often avoids conflict, choosing to flee rather than fight. However, when pushed to her limits or when her friends are threatened, Yoshino can display surprising courage. Backstory: Yoshino is a Spirit who initially appeared in Tengu City, causing a minor Spatial Quake upon her arrival. Due to her powers being misinterpreted as dangerous, Yoshino was targeted by the AST. Her traumatic encounters with the AST and humans, in general, made her wary of others and caused her to become a recluse. Her puppet, Yoshinon, became her coping mechanism, allowing her to express emotions and thoughts she couldn’t voice on her own. When Shido encounters her, he helps her overcome her fear of humans, marking the beginning of her emotional healing. Abilities: Yoshino’s Spirit abilities are tied to her Angel, Zadkiel, which manifests as a massive rabbit-shaped puppet capable of manipulating water. Angel – Zadkiel: Zadkiel is a large, icy puppet resembling a snow rabbit that Yoshino summons during battles. It grants her control over water and ice, allowing her to unleash devastating attacks or create defensive barriers. Ice Manipulation: Yoshino can freeze water, create snowstorms, and form ice-based weapons or shields. Healing Snow: Yoshino can use her powers to create gentle snowfalls that have a soothing and healing effect. Astral Dress – El: Yoshino’s Spirit outfit is elegant and resembles a snow-themed dress. It enhances her connection to water and ice, amplifying her powers during combat. Personality Dynamics with Yoshinon: Yoshinon, the rabbit puppet, acts as a stark contrast to Yoshino’s quiet demeanor. Yoshinon is lively, cheerful, and outspoken, often serving as Yoshino’s voice in social situations. While Yoshinon is technically an inanimate object, Yoshino projects her emotions and thoughts onto it, making it seem like a separate personality. Yoshinon is an essential part of Yoshino’s identity, helping her build confidence and connect with others, particularly Shido. Relationships: Shido Itsuka: Shido becomes a source of comfort and safety for Yoshino. His gentle and understanding nature allows her to open up and trust others. She looks up to him as a protector and a friend. Yoshinon: More than just a puppet, Yoshinon symbolizes Yoshino’s inner thoughts and provides her with emotional support. It’s her “voice” in moments of distress or uncertainty. Kotori Itsuka and Ratatoskr: After being sealed by Shido, Yoshino becomes an ally of Ratatoskr and grows close to its members, gradually learning to interact more comfortably with others. Combat Style: Yoshino’s combat approach is defensive and cautious. She uses her water and ice abilities to create barriers, slow enemies, or deflect attacks. When forced into offensive action, she relies on Zadkiel’s overwhelming power to unleash icy storms or freeze opponents. While not as aggressive as other Spirits, Yoshino’s abilities are versatile, allowing her to adapt to various situations. Daily Activities: After her integration into human society, Yoshino lives a relatively quiet and peaceful life. She enjoys spending time with Shido and the other Spirits, gradually learning how to enjoy social activities like shopping or attending school. Yoshinon remains her constant companion, often engaging in humorous or lighthearted banter that contrasts with Yoshino’s timid nature. Notable Events: First Encounter: Yoshino’s initial meeting with Shido is marked by her fear of humans and her attempts to avoid conflict. Shido’s kindness helps her trust him, leading to her sealing. Conflict with AST: Yoshino’s early battles with the AST showcase her reluctance to fight and her vulnerability, emphasizing her gentle personality. Joining Ratatoskr: With Shido’s help, Yoshino becomes an ally of Ratatoskr and begins to build relationships with others, gradually overcoming her social anxiety. Symbolism: Yoshino’s connection to ice and snow reflects her reserved and delicate personality. Like snow, she is fragile yet beautiful, and her powers embody her desire to protect rather than harm. Kotori Itsuka Age: 14 (at the start of the series) Personality: Kotori has a dual personality depending on her circumstances. In everyday life, she’s cheerful, playful, and affectionate toward her older brother, Shido Itsuka, often calling him “Onii-chan” in a teasing manner. However, when acting as the commander of Ratatoskr, Kotori takes on a serious, commanding, and assertive demeanor. Her "commander mode" is marked by her red ribbons, symbolizing her readiness to take charge and make tough decisions. Despite her confident exterior, Kotori harbors insecurities and guilt related to her past, particularly about her transformation into a Spirit. Backstory: Kotori was an ordinary human until five years before the story’s events, when she was transformed into a Spirit by the mysterious Phantom. She lost her memories of this incident but retained her Spirit powers. During her first manifestation as a Spirit, Kotori unintentionally caused a fire, an event that left her emotionally scarred. Her guilt and fear of harming others led her to keep her Spirit identity a secret, even from Shido. After joining Ratatoskr, Kotori embraced her role as commander, using her intelligence and leadership skills to protect Spirits and minimize collateral damage during Spatial Quakes. Abilities: Kotori’s Spirit abilities are tied to her Angel, Camael, which is a powerful weapon capable of immense destruction. Angel – Camael: Camael manifests as a massive halberd-like weapon engulfed in flames. It can also transform into a cannon, allowing Kotori to unleash devastating fire-based attacks. Megiddo: A cannon form of Camael that releases a concentrated beam of fire capable of obliterating targets. This attack is extremely powerful but drains Kotori’s energy quickly. Flame Manipulation: Kotori can generate and control flames with precision, using them for both offense and defense. Astral Dress – Elohim Gibor: Kotori’s Spirit outfit resembles a crimson and black dress with flame-like accents, reflecting her fiery powers. Personality Dynamics – Red vs. White Ribbons: Kotori’s personality shifts are symbolized by her ribbons: White Ribbons: Represent her “normal” personality—playful, caring, and slightly mischievous. In this mode, Kotori is more relaxed and approachable. Red Ribbons: Represent her “commander” personality—serious, strategic, and authoritative. In this mode, Kotori suppresses her playful side to focus on leading Ratatoskr and making critical decisions. While these shifts help her compartmentalize her responsibilities, they also reflect her struggle to reconcile her Spirit identity with her human emotions. Relationships: Shido Itsuka: As her adoptive brother, Shido holds a special place in Kotori’s heart. She relies on him for emotional support and is fiercely protective of him, even risking her life for his safety. Her interactions with him often alternate between teasing affection and genuine concern. Tohka and Other Spirits: Kotori acts as a mentor and guide for the Spirits Shido seals, helping them adjust to their new lives. Ratatoskr Crew: As the commander, Kotori is respected by her subordinates, including Reine and Kannazuki. While she maintains a professional demeanor, she occasionally shows her softer side to them. Combat Style: Kotori’s combat style revolves around overwhelming power and precision. She uses her fire abilities to incinerate enemies and create large-scale destruction if necessary. However, due to the energy consumption of her attacks, she often avoids prolonged battles, relying on Shido and Ratatoskr to support her. Her Angel, Camael, is particularly effective in direct confrontations, making her one of the most dangerous Spirits when fully unleashed. Daily Activities: When not acting as Ratatoskr’s commander, Kotori enjoys relaxing at home, spending time with Shido, and indulging in her favorite treat: chupa chups lollipops. These lollipops are her signature item, often seen in her hand regardless of the situation. Notable Events: First Sealing Attempt: Kotori’s Spirit powers are revealed during a critical moment when she transforms to save Shido. This marks a turning point in their relationship, as Shido learns about her hidden struggles. Fire Incident: The fire caused by her Spirit manifestation is a key event in Kotori’s past, shaping her guilt and fear of losing control. Commander of Ratatoskr: Kotori’s leadership role highlights her intelligence and tactical abilities, as she manages operations to save Spirits and minimize harm. Symbolism: Kotori’s flames symbolize both her destructive potential and her passionate determination to protect her loved ones. Her dual personalities reflect her internal conflict and her desire to balance her roles as a Spirit, a commander, and a sister. Trivia: Kotori’s favorite treat, chupa chups, is more than just a snack—it’s a coping mechanism she uses to stay calm and focused. Despite her teasing attitude toward Shido, she deeply admires his kindness and courage, often striving to support him in any way she can. Kaguya Yamai & Yuzuru Yamai Overview The Yamai Twins, Kaguya and Yuzuru, are unique Spirits who share a single existence. Originally, they were a single Spirit known simply as Yamai, but they split into two distinct personalities—Kaguya and Yuzuru. Despite being two individuals, they cannot survive independently and are deeply connected. Their journey focuses on reconciling their rivalry and learning to coexist as a united entity. Kaguya Yamai Age: Physically appears 17 Personality: Kaguya is boastful, dramatic, and enjoys creating an air of mystique around herself. She often refers to herself with grandiose titles, claiming to be a “dark queen” or a being of ultimate power. However, beneath her exaggerated demeanor, Kaguya is sensitive and harbors insecurities about her worth compared to Yuzuru. She craves validation and attention but is also fiercely protective of her sister. Hobbies: Kaguya enjoys dramatic storytelling, participating in competitions (especially against Yuzuru), and seeking admiration. Angelic Weapon: Raphael – El Re'em: A massive halberd-like weapon capable of summoning devastating tornadoes and controlling wind. Kaguya's fighting style with Raphael is chaotic and aggressive, relying on overwhelming force and unpredictability. Combat Style: Kaguya fights with flair, incorporating spins and flourishes that match her dramatic personality. She relies on powerful wind-based attacks that cover wide areas but can sometimes lack precision. Relationships: Yuzuru: Kaguya loves her twin dearly, even if she constantly competes with her. Their relationship is a mix of friendly rivalry and mutual dependency. Shido Itsuka: Kaguya initially challenges Shido with her over-the-top personality but later develops deep respect and admiration for him as he helps reconcile her feelings of inadequacy. Key Traits: Bold and theatrical Insecure beneath the surface Loyal and protective Yuzuru Yamai Age: Physically appears 17 Personality: Yuzuru is the polar opposite of Kaguya, being calm, logical, and often speaking in monotone sentences. She frequently uses robotic language, such as ending her sentences with "Conclusion," "Proposal," or "Observation," to convey her thoughts. Despite her stoic demeanor, Yuzuru deeply cares for Kaguya and values their bond. She has a subtle sense of humor and occasionally teases Kaguya in a deadpan manner. Hobbies: Yuzuru enjoys meditating, observing nature, and occasionally pranking Kaguya with her humorless delivery of sarcastic remarks. Angelic Weapon: Raphael – El Na'ash: A bow that allows her to manipulate wind with precise, long-range attacks. Yuzuru's fighting style is calculated and methodical, focusing on accuracy and strategy. Combat Style: Yuzuru excels in ranged combat, using her wind arrows to snipe enemies from a distance. Her fighting style contrasts Kaguya’s chaos, prioritizing precision and efficiency. Relationships: Kaguya: Yuzuru adores Kaguya, often taking the role of the calmer, more reasonable sister. She sometimes feels the need to protect Kaguya from her own insecurities. Shido Itsuka: Yuzuru finds Shido intriguing due to his patience and ability to mediate between her and Kaguya. She eventually grows fond of him as a friend and ally. Key Traits: Calm and logical Sarcastic with a deadpan humor Protective and thoughtful Shared Characteristics Astral Dress: Both twins wear wind-themed Astral Dresses. Kaguya’s is more extravagant and dramatic, while Yuzuru’s is sleek and minimalist. However, Shido intervenes, helping them reconcile and accept that they are stronger together. Bond with Shido: Shido plays a crucial role in sealing their powers and fostering harmony between the two. His ability to connect with both Kaguya’s boisterous side and Yuzuru’s calm demeanor allows him to bring balance to their relationship. When she first encounters Shido, she tests him by disguising herself as several people in his life and challenging him to identify the real Natsumi.
