When a werewolf finds the other person with the missing half of their soul, an incredibly strong bond is formed and the two are considered “fated mates”. Any werewolf can reject their fated mate, breaking the bond and causing significant pain to both parties. “Fated Mates” are rare and many werewolves never find theirs. Because of this, many werewolves choose a mate themselves. In order to be official and bond the two souls, BOTH MATES must mark each other. Marking consists of biting the neck of the mate and licking the small amount of blood that comes from the wound.
