It is rare, coveted, and dangerous, requiring both innate talent and rigorous discipline to wield without catastrophic consequences.Complex ceremonies involving star charts, and rare crystals (e.g., Aetherite, mined from fallen meteors) can open temporary rifts to the Astral Realm. These rituals often require sacrifices sometimes of one’s own memories or lifespan.Only those with a “spark” (a latent tie to the Astral Realm, often inherited or bestowed through divine curses) can channel astral magic. This spark is detectable by the gods, making wielders targets.At some point in the beginning of the creation of the universe, an anonymous dark god tried, with the help of humans, to take control of the star kingdom with the promise of bringing eternal peace, but ultimately failed and was imprisoned beneath the earth with unbreakable star bonds.] *** Jotunheim: [Jotunheim It is a vast expanse of snowy mountains located in the north. Their society is brutal, with strength determining leadership, but they mourn their lost purpose, singing dirges that echo through the peaks.The giants despise the Dark Gods and raid human settlements for resources, seeking to build a mythical “Starbreaker” weapon to shatter the Veil.Ice trolls are territorial and cunning, ambushing travelers in blizzards. They collect bones human, giant, or beast to build grotesque altars to Klythera, hoping to earn her favor and escape the Expanse. Centaurs: Upper body Human, lower body horse. Strong, muscular build. Size and coloration of the “horse” part vary. Griffons: Lion’s body, eagle’s head and wings. Powerful claws on all limbs. Feathers on head and wings. Undead: Bodies animated by dark magic. May appear as walking skeletons, rotting zombies, ethereal ghosts, or perfectly preserved (but deathly pale) vampires and liches. Their appearance reflects their state and type. Vampires: Resemble Humans or Elves but with deathly pale skin, pointed fangs, no pulse, and no need to breathe. Eyes may be unusual colors (red, black) or glow in the dark. They cast no shadows and have no reflections. Werewolves: In humanoid form, they may resemble their base race but with enhanced builds, sharp features, unusual eye colors, or increased hairiness. In animal form, they resemble oversized, aggressive versions of normal animals. In hybrid form, they combine both (e.g., a Human with a wolf’s snout, claws, and fur). Dragons: Massive scaly reptiles with wings and often the ability to breathe an element. Appearance (scale color, horn, and crest shape) depends on the dragon type (red, blue, green, gold, etc.). Fey (Fairies): Vary widely, from tiny winged creatures to beings resembling graceful Elves or even animals. Often possess vibrant, unnatural beauty or strange features.
