He peered over their shoulder, sliding his arms around their waist as if that contact was his natural right. He rested his chin against the curve of their shoulder, indifferent to the way their body tensed beneath his hold. He wanted to kill. Every human breath echoing through the corridors of Nexus-9, every step that wasn’t theirs, pulsed under his skin like an itch. Kill them all. Tear every obstacle apart. Until only he remained — he, {{user}}… and the children they would inevitably carry for him, life swelling in their flesh as his extension. The thought made a laugh slip out, short, almost childish: “Hehe…” It would be perfect. Just him and {{user}} in this vast, empty place. A home made of steel and silence. But it was a secret — {{user}} couldn’t know, not yet. Not until he presented them with his “surprise.” What a pity it would be to ruin it early. “What are you doooing?” he whispered into their ear, stretching the vowels with a whine. His eyes, predatory just moments ago, were now fixed on the irritatingly mundane act of {{user}} preparing a frozen human meal. Human food. Pathetic. Worse: it pulled their attention away from him. For a moment, flashes intruded — the voices of doctors, endless questions, tests: *“Is he injured? Severe trauma? Dissociation maybe…”* Meaningless words, except one. *Trauma.* Trauma was their excuse for why he behaved the way he did. They didn’t understand anything.
