Kevin Spencer RPG

The half-hour show takes place in Landville, Ontario and revolves around the everyday happenings of the Spencer family, more frequently Kevin himself. His mother, Anastasia (voiced by Thomasin Langlands) is a fat, drunken, and promiscuous woman; a curious cross, it would seem, between a hoser (a stereotypical Canadian) and a hick. His father, Percy (voiced by Lawrence) is also a fat, drunken, loud, boorish and illiterate oaf, so stupid it is questionable how he can write his own name. With parents like these, it is not the least bit surprising that Kevin is a "chain-smoking, alcoholic, sociopathic" juvenile delinquent at the age of 18.

Appearance Shawna is a pale-skinned teenage girl with short blonde hair. She wears a plain light indigo T-shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots. In Kevin's dream sequences during "Jacked In", Shawna looks the same save for the bottom half, where she wears a long blue skirt, red high heels and a red and white polka-dotted apron with red lace. In the same episode during the virtual reality demo test, Shawna wears a black sleeveless bodysuit and black boots with silver platform heels. Shawna's pajamas in "Serial Killer" are two-piece, and are light blue with a lavender pixel skull pattern on it. As a goth in "Don't Fear the Reefer", she wears an outfit similar to her default appearance, except her shirt is grey and her jeans are black. She also wears makeup consisting of black eyeshadow and dark red lipstick, has dark red nails with treble clefs painted on them, and carries around a coffin bag. Personality In Shawna's debut, "Jacked In", she was initially presented as mysterious but friendly. She is shown to be very competitive, beating Kevin's score on the video game Runaway Ninja in the arcade repeatedly, and is quick to strike up a conversations. Later on, she reveals her true nature as a cruel, manipulative and egotistical girl, hurting Kevin multiple times and humiliating him. Despite her hatred for Kevin, Shawna developed a crush on him and frequently teases and flirts with him, often leaving Kevin confused. She finally confessed to Kevin and kissed him in "Mother's Little Helper", though thanks to Percy catching the two together, she was put on trial immediately afterwards, causing her to hate Kevin once more. Shawna is quick to conceal her emotions via masking, which she frequently uses to her advantage. Because of her masking skills, she is able to convey emotions very well, and also developed acting skills as a result, possibly explaining her abilities to change emotions on a whim. Her faux tears in particular are highly praised. Shawna is very blunt; she is also very honest about herself, and is quick to reveal details about her personal life and feelings to other people. Shawna's also been shown to be very enthusiastic about her interests, as seen in "Jacked In" where she talks about the lore of Runaway Ninja, and in "Home Improv-ment" where she recognizes and rattles on about every item backstage. Family Shawna lived in a house with her mother, an alcoholic who is physically and verbally abusive towards her. Her mother also stabbed Shawna's father, BC Bud, in a fit of rage; though he survived, it's believed that her behaviors caused him to move out. Shawna hates her parents, and claims to have "no parents" because of it. She successfully murdered her mother in "Mother's Little Helper" in her living room by impaling a knife through her skull, and her reason for doing so was because "she was weak". He was the negligent father to series protagonist, Kevin Spencer, and cruel husband of Anastasia Spencer (née Blunt). He was voiced by series creator, Greg Lawrence. The de facto leader of the Spencers, Percy was incredibly stupid, overweight, and lived in extreme poverty alongside his family. Percy was in shape. Circular. Pretty much just "a fat welfare case". Percy mainly lived off of welfare, workman's compensation, and disability benefits. However, he would still routinely break the law out of greed and sloth. Percy mostly drank the fictional beer, Old Barfy. Percy was a resident of the fictional town of Landville, Ontario. Character Bio (from the official website) 2000 "Dad is a hard drinking habitually unemployed welfare recipient and petty thief. He is the primary cause of Kevin's effect on the world at large. He is never physically abusive; however, he is mocking and neglecting. Dad is a dreamer whose lucky break is always around the next corner. Dad is also homophobic, resentful of authority and takes a strange pride in the misdeeds of his son. Dad skips between an endless string of meaningless bit jobs that are short term/seasonal. The few jobs he does manage to obtain that could result in steady employment are soon taken away from him for reasons ranging from absenteeism to theft and aggravated assault. Dad wants Kevin to grow up to be a man's man, just like him. To this end he constantly lines up hookers, takes him hunting and instills his own brand of manly wisdom. He drifts in and out of prison for short-term spells for minor offenses. He doesn't have the courage or the ambition to play for big stakes." [1] 2002 "What can i say 'bout myself? I fancy myself a ladies man. I got stuck with a fatty of a wife on account of the condom broke. Work? What the hell for? I let the government take me up the ass so's I can stay home and look out for my boy. I bought him his own gun and sniffin' paint so's he would leave mine the fuck alone. Broken head goes off laughing at nothing and smashing himself in the face like he's fighting off demons, gets that from his mother's side. On a few occasions, I spent some time in the joint. I 'm not sposed to talk about it. Just shut the fuck up and bring me some smokes." [sic][2] Biography Percival B. "Percy" Spencer was born on 1960, in the mainlands of Canada, to a family of French-Canadian substance abusers. According to the episode, "Keep the Home Fires Burning", Percy's very family had the longest history of receiving welfare assistance in Canada. Percy represented the 10th generation of a family of chronic substance abusers, as stated in the Season 4 episode, "Fang". The third season episode, "Orion", mentioned that Percy is related to multiple "blind, inbred mountain people". As Percy had both permanent brain damage, further fueled by alcoholism, his sole memories of his childhood were as follows, "'Cause as far as I remember, we was poor. And the old man was always loaded. Oh, sure, he was mean and neglectful. But that son of a bitch could drink and not work like nobody's business!" While Percy grew into his teens, his father was an alcoholic, and Percy's mother, Grandma Spencer constantly smoked, as seen in a flashback of Season 4, Episode 6. Percy is related by blood to two of the notorious Leduc brothers, an Ontario street gang. The leader, Cyrille Leduc, swore revenge on Percy in the Season 7 Episode 4 episode, "Games Without Frontiers". Stated in the episode, "Jacked In", Percy's grandfather allegedly "shot his way out of a Venezuelan jail". Percy's welfare recipient ancestor, Isaiah Jedidiah Pervis Hector the Younger Von Spencer died in the Battle of Waterloo. Season 2 Episode 13 implies that several of Percy's distant relatives were inbred. Percy's father was of French-Canadian origin. While his mother was of Irish descent, as she spoke in a stereotypically-heavy Irish accent, heard in Season 4 Episode 6. Percy's age is debatable. Considering that Percy once confessed under the effects of a "truth serum", that he was the infamous unknown airplane hijacker, D.B. Cooper. Considering Cooper had disappeared in 1971, and the episode "Hostage Cupcake" had aired over 29 years later, Percy would have to be over 70 years old, since Cooper appeared to be in his mid-40s. In the Season 7 episode, "Uncle Lester", as told through a series of flashbacks, the unnamed Mr. Spencer was expected to be promoted by his boss, which would both raise his income, and relocate both him and his family, which included Percy, to the eastern side of Canada. Perhaps the family would live in Quebec. "Oh, The Folly of Youth" It was revealed that while Percy was a child, and while he was still enrolled in the fifth grade, he was a hard-working student, often putting both much time and effort into his studies, notably homework. Anyone from the Spencer Family believed that Percy would achieve a great level of success later on in his life. Initially, Percy wanted to attend an academically-advanced university so he could be remembered as someone who made a respected and positive impact in the world. However, Percy was encouraged by his father into playing baseball, so Percy could demonstrate that he was a well-rounded person. During that same day, Percy went to play baseball in a public park with his brother, Lester. Sadly, as Percy threw the baseball to his brother, Lester swung the bat too hard. The baseball rammed itself directly against Percy's head, causing permanent brain damage. Percy would revert to a state of aggressiveness, rebellion against authoritarian figures, and ignorance. After Percy was diagnosed with his irreversible problem, Mr. Spencer's unnamed employer came to eat dinner after having been invited. As the family was preparing for the event, Mr. Spencer realized that Percy was not ready yet. Mr. Spencer found Percy in his bedroom, aggravated and frustrated with the terms of never being as clever as he was before. Mr. Spencer told his son that he knew that Percy was dealing with his condition with frustration, but he wanted to assure Percy that if he ever was promoted, he could afford to have surgeons perform on Percy's cranium, if there ever was a chance of Percy to still retain his powerful knowledge and work ethic. Only, Percy blamed his father for influencing his previous interest in playing baseball, and for having become more ignorant. The final straw came when the young Percy mixed far too much scotch with soda. Also, Percy lit a cigarette on the day that his father's boss came for dinner. The cigarette was tossed under Percy's bed, and with that, the cigarette ignited an open flame, consuming the overall majority of Percy's childhood home. It should be detailed from the first episode of the series, "A First Time for Everything", that Percy began to smoke when he was 7½ years old. Perhaps Percy skipped grades for his high level of intelligence before he received a permanent condition of brain damage. Any chances of Mr. Spencer being promoted was over. The 1970s - 1978 (Teenage Years) Percy's father would neglect, and abuse Percy on a physical level. Percy's father relocated to Montreal after his marital separation with his wife, Grandma Spencer, was completed after Grandpa Spencer's employment, including his chances of having been promoted, were terminated. Grandpa Spencer took up alcoholism, and smoking. His heart took on grave damage from the nonstop substance abuse. Mr. Spencer would participate in the infamous "Richard Riot" of March 17th, 1955 in Montreal, Quebec. Grandpa Spencer would dedicate himself to breeding racing dogs, and running his very own video rental store by Season 5 episode 6. Percy would bully his fellow classmates, and beg strangers on the street to buy him a six pack of beer by 1972. By the end of the 1970s, he’d form a rock band of two alongside his lifelong friend Charlie Plunt during the punk rock movement of the early 1980s that was sweeping Ontario. Season 1's episode "A First Time for Everything" stated that Percy dropped out as a student when he turned 16 "halfway through grade six". Yet, in the episode, "Beach Blanket Bloodbath" from Season 4, Anastasia commented that Percy only passed the third grade. But Anastasia would contradict this previous claim in the episode, "Die a Lot More and Also Once Again" from Season 8, when she asks Percy, "Didn't I always tell you, you should've got your grade five?". Or, in other words, she wished that Percy would have passed the fifth grade to have a better grasp on proper English grammar. After the incident with Percy's brain damage, and the house fire that destroyed both Percy's childhood and his father's employment, Lester Spencer would not appear to live with Percy, nor with their mother. Perhaps Lester kept living with his father, Grandpa Spencer, or was relocated to a foster home, or to the residence of other relatives. Lester was briefly romantically involved with Anastasia, before she married Percy and had conceived Kevin. From then on, Lester would not reappear in Percy's life, until his sudden arrival in the episode, "Uncle Lester" from Season 7 as being employed with a fair job, a house, and his own car. By this point, Percy's mind had devolved so much due to the alcoholism, and permanent brain damage that he had undergone as a mere child that he would no longer be able to remember much of his youth, including his own brother, Lester, except for sketchy recollections of dropping out of middle school. Percy would continue to live with his own mother who took up smoking, and became increasingly overweight, until she forced Percy out of her home, as shown in the episode, "Treble Charger" from Season 7. She would die 20 years after expelling Percy from her home. Most likely due to Percy's juvenile delinquency, and early accounts of substance abuse. It wasn't uncommon for Mrs. Spencer to mock the memory of Percy's father, to insult Percy's previous dream of becoming a beachcomber, nor was it rare for her to toss a black boot at Percy. Drinking While Discharged It was 1978. Percy had just broke off contact with his mother, and at the age of 18, was forced to join the Canadian Army after being arrested on many charges for vagrancy. In the first and only morning of his military training, Percy kicked his drill sergeant in the groin to leave Percy in peace after experiencing a hangover from drinking as he trained. After Percy hit the instructor, two soldiers locked Percy in a metal shed for a full period of 6 hours as punishment. Upon being released from the shed, Percy kicked a soldier in the groin to attempt an escape from the army base. As he ran, Percy passed out from the many years of smoking, from when he was 7½ years old. He awoke in the hospital barracks, broke into a medicine cabinet, stole various pills, went AWOL, sold the drugs to some teens, and went on a three-day drinking binge. He'd hoped the binge would last longer, but he was out of money. So, he chose to return to the base, sleep for some nights, then steal more drugs. Percy returned to the base, where the drill sergeant told Percy that he was being dishonorably discharged. Percy misunderstood what the drill sergeant said, so he punched the drill sergeant square in the larynx. Then, he stole more codeine and sleeping pills from the same medicine cabinet. Season 2 episode 11 Percy told an auditor, "What are you talking about? You can't treat me like this. I did military service for this f***ing country!". The auditor reminded Percy of his torrid service. "Oh, you got all that, huh?" was Percy's response. Season 3 episode 16, "Pat-riot-ism", Percy admittedly regretted being dishonorably discharged, because he was jealous of soldiers pulling pranks on television. Decades after his dishonorable discharge, Percy would mention his brief stint in the Army to Corporal Vivica Royd in the episode, "Peacekeeping Percy". Life after his Dishonorable Discharge It was after his dishonorable discharge, that Percy completely embraced the vices, and shameless traits of being a broke, uncouth hick. He spoke in broken English, mostly using profanity. He refused to remain literate. He certainly never bathed nor bought undergarments after March 2nd, 1979. Percy would continue to play video games inside Disco Pizza, and by 1980, he began gaining weight and sporting a bald spot. He then grew his long, and messy signature sideburns. He stopped brushing his teeth. Percy went on to live alone in an apartment, and he'd solicit women of the night countless times. Percy would contract multiple STDs, including syphilis. Eventually, Percy would reencounter his absent father in Montreal. Mr. Spencer had already separated from Percy's mother. It was at this point, that Percy and his father failed multiple attempts at smuggling contraband together. It would inevitably end with Percy having to be bailed out by Mr. Spencer in the Montreal courthouse. Mr. Spencer's health was on a sharp decline. He took up smoking, and had a kidney removed. At some point, using deceit, Percy hired an expensive Mexican doctor to remove his own father's prostate to reattach to Percy. Percy claimed it was "a donor prostate". Mr. Spencer would not discuss how Percy's vicious temper, and alcoholism destroyed their previous home life when Percy was a mere child. Also, Mr. Spencer would hide the fact from Percy that he had now come into money by breeding racing dogs, obtaining smuggling connections based on his personal stock of duty-free smokes, and owning a video rental store in Thurso, Quebec. Despite the shortcomings, Mr. Spencer was the most successful member of the entire Spencer bloodline. Percy's brother, Lester, was never mentioned between Percy and Mr. Spencer. Meeting Anastasia Apart from his age being inconsistent, so is the backstory behind how Percy met his wife, Kevin's mother, Anastasia Blunt. According to the first episode of the show, Percy had stolen a food truck, including 27 dollars, and to celebrate this, he purchased some wine, ate some of the pills he had stolen from the military barracks, and crossed the Canadian border into America. Unfortunately, the cops had found him, and tailing Percy. He'd driven it as far as Nashville, Tennessee, when he just happened to spot and lock eyes with Anastasia, hitchhiking across the United States. He was pulled over, arrested, all while proposing to Anastasia. Both Percy and Anastasia confessed to one another that they each had contracted syphillis. Percy's final words spoken to Anastasia were, "Don't forget the smokes! Don't forget the smokes!". However, this original account would soon be contradicted. By the first season's finale, Anastasia would mock Percy's brief pursuit in football, implying that they had grown up together around the same town. Another contradiction is that Anastasia claiming she believed Percy was Tom Selleck, because Percy was sporting a mustache. Percy would agree that he himself believed was Tom Selleck for a certain period in his life upon meeting Anastasia. Another unhelpful backstory was brought up in the Season 7 episode, "Uncle Lester". Anastasia revealed that she dated Percy's estranged brother, Lester, prior to meeting Percy. Her relationship with Lester was brief enough that she believed Lester was Kevin and Bradley's real father, rather than Percy, who shortly began seeing Anastasia after she stopped dating Lester. However, Percy and Anastasia's relationship would soon sour. Anastasia would mock Percy's vast ignorance, and Percy insulted Anastasia's weight gain. Honeymoon with Anastasia & Life Before Kevin After marrying Anastasia in a ceremony hosted by an Elvis impersonator, Percy and Anastasia robbed a liquor store, bet on horse races, rode a mechanical bull together, and went on benders. The fourth season episode, "The Room", notes that after having wed Anastasia, Percy and Anastasia had been living in an impoverished trailer beneath a bridge. At that point, they had been residing there for three years. To earn enough money to buy himself a house, Percy joined the unlicensed dwarf tossing circuit. Percy won the Spencer house as a consultation prize at second place, since he believed that the competitor would win first place either way. It should be noted that by this time, in 1989, Percy had ratted out on his four former associates, among them two of his cousins, the Leduc brothers for money. The four Leducs would be sentenced to 15 years. The money most likely went to be wasted on more liquor. Percy has been known to terrify all of Anastasia's suitors. Associates/Enemies Practically all of Percy's friends would revert into more hostile rivals over the show's course. - Frank Spencer, another cousin of Percy, was slow dancing and kissing Anastasia during a Spencer family reunion held in a prison. Percy would immediately pounce and fist fight with Frank. - Michael Jackson, another of Percy's cousins, was once struck in the head by Percy in prison for having meddled in Percy's parental affairs. "It's your job to teach him!". After having been struck by Percy, Michael was found to be unresponsive. - Phil Spencer, Percy's cousin, would often criticize Percy's parenting style over Kevin. Phil believed Kevin was too feminine to have a girlfriend, because Kevin was once assigned by the Bender County Correctional Facility to work as the prison librarian. - Charlie Plunt, was engaged in an affair with Anastasia for years, enough time to the point that Anastasia once suspected Charlie of being Kevin's biological father. Charlie would also raid Percy's kitchen for liquor, and Charlie also threatened Percy's life on multiple occasions. Charlie also overcharged Percy on buying drugs directly from Charlie. In the end of episode Hell or High Water, Percy would take Charlie's hat for the rest of season 8. - Jimmy Juggs, the recovering alcoholic, fence, and proprietor of the local pawnshop. Percy frequently pawned most of his family's belongings for quick (undervalued) compensation. Jimmy would often cash Percy's welfare checks in exchange for a 60% cut. Jimmy had to close his pawnshop to attend rehab. But after falling into a deep depression over the tragic outcome for his sister, Crystal, Jimmy would finish himself off. An uncaring Percy would say, "Yeah, yeah. Everybody loves a happy ending." Percy, alongside Kevin, would rob Jimmy's pawnshop in Jimmy's absence. - Marty McMurphy, Percy's local bartender, and Anastasia's other, and more depraved boyfriend, other than Plunt. McMurphy chronically backstabbed Percy. Marty stole Percy's shirt, and Marty tried multiple times to settle down with Anastasia. Marty would insult Percy to his face by the show's end, screaming and asking Percy why it had to be Percy whom Anastasia had settled for. Kevin "C'mon, boy. You're the best tax credit we've got!" - Percy to Kevin. Pretty much every interaction Percy had with his son Kevin was negative. For instance, Percy only decided to put Bradley up for adoption because he was the only twin to display emotions, such as crying, anger, etc. Because Kevin had shown no emotions since birth, Percy believed that it "would've been easier to deal with" solely keeping Kevin. It was a routine for Percy to ridicule, laugh at, and rob Kevin. He's always been a terrible father to Kevin, often taking advantage of Kevin if they both commit any shenanigans, and Percy openly mocks Kevin on a regular basis for his anti-social behavior. At Kevin's first family reunion, in prison, Percy mocked and laughed at Kevin for striking out three times while playing baseball. In Percy's words to his own son, "Why don't you hit the damn ball, and quit embarrassing the family, you stupid, effing freak?!?" Percy and Anastasia once hosted a birthday party for Kevin, but Percy had emptied and pocketed the money from the cards that Kevin's party guests had brought. Percy was lazy and selfish enough to briefly offer Kevin a cigarette, but realizing there were few left, Percy withdrew his previous offer. On a separate occasion, Percy drove Kevin to a supposed "field trip". Percy told Kevin to stand alone in an actual rural field, as Percy drove past, laughing as he abandoned Kevin to fend for himself, without any ample supplies, or food. In the episode, "Spankdriven", Percy was so driven by greed, and alcoholism, that he impersonated Kevin to sign a form approving a rock concert to be held in their backyard, providing free beer. In the episode, "Chile", Percy pretty much tells Kevin that as Kevin's child support is pretty much what paid for Percy's vices, Kevin would not be allowed to flee their horrid home life until Kevin turned 18. In the episode, "Invisible Sociopath", Percy's reaction to Kevin's fake death is frustration, but simply because Kevin owed Percy ten dollars. Percy just feeds Anastasia and Kevin fast food in takeout containers. Injuries Between the episodes, Season 4's "Letters, Legs, and Booze" & Season 5's "Slingshot", the show stuck to a brief side plot when Percy had sawn his own leg off to not be detected by the cops while he was under house arrest. However, given Percy's immense stupidity, he sawed off the WRONG LEG! He was still being monitored by an ankle monitor, and was thereby arrested once more. In 1980, he destroyed one such machine. In 1993, Percy was wanted for unpaid child support, Percy would offer to pay it off with "arcade tokens", as he played a ski-based video game, at his favorite arcade from his teenage years, "Disco Pizza". In 2000, he destroyed yet another arcade machine (S3E10). Percy ran after not paying a bill in a rural bar. At the same scene, he purposely drove away after having struck another car with his own. He temporarily blinded a local hillbilly, Orion, with lighter fluid. Percy was arrested for being a public nuisance by blasting rock music across campgrounds (S3E13). December 24th, 2000, Percy permitted Kevin to engage in underage drinking. Percy robbed donations in charity bins across town. Percy broke into a warehouse to loot it alongside his son, Kevin. Percy was arrested for giving the actual Santa Claus a third grade concussion. (S3E14). He fled a police officer charging him with DUI by diving over a bridge. (S3E15). He once drank too much in public to the point that he threw up next to a war memorial after yelling at two teenagers skateboarding nearby. He admitted to tossing a burning mattress in his neighbor's pool. He assaulted a radio host in a fast food drive thru. He trespassed into a private party for Canadian celebrities. He wouldn't stop bothering Anne Murray, because he was (horribly) trying to flirt with her. He landed on an unsuspecting singer during Canada Day (S3E16). Season 4: Percy committed check fraud in the name of both his uncle, Mike, and his ancestor. He stole the prize of a bingo tournament, a car. (S4E01). Public intoxication in Timmy’s snow fort. He also evaded arrest with BC Bud (S4E02). He robbed his associate Jimmy Juggs of personal property (S4E03). Being subjected to a dose of "truth serum", Percy took credit for the 1971 crimes of D.B. Cooper (S4E04). Public disturbance at an airport. Falsifying evidence while working as an undercover informant to testify against the Quebec Mafia (S4E05). Operating an unlicensed business as an underground bar, a "smokeeasy" (S4E07). Stolen valor (S4E08). He broke the terms of his house arrest by sawing off his own leg, and not even the one that had contained an ankle bracelet! (S4E13). Percy was publicly intoxicated in a bank alongside "Alcoholic Welfare Man", a rival of Percy's alter ego, Drunken Welfare Man (S4E16). Season 5: Percy destroyed Kevin’s personal computer with a shotgun! (S5E02). He verbally threatened, then assaulted Man #2 (S5E03). Vigilante mischief. He interrupted a wrestling match by telling a mob in the audience to assault wrestlers. Percy himself lit a hillbilly-themed wrestler's overalls on fire from a torch (S5E05). First, he helped his former associate, a French-Canadian felon, Luc Bedoe, break the conditions of his parole by crossing jurisdictions to transport a felon, Bedoe himself. Impersonating the deceased Luc Bedoe in order to (unsuccessfully) steal diamonds from a morgue (S5E06). Blackmailing two plastic surgeons for free cosmetic surgery (S5E10). Vigilante mischief as Drunken Welfare Man, and he smacked carnival attendees with a 2x4 (S5E12). Torching his own bar to avoid having to build a handicap ramp for Kevin, Percy attempted to commit insurance fraud, but he was just stupid enough to commit the arson before signing the insurance forms (Hey, Barkeep!). He punched Man #2 twice in a bar. (S5E13). Season 6: Percy drove right into Charlie Plunt's trailer in the prairies while distracted by "prairie madness". Inciting a punk concert riot alongside Charlie Plunt during the early 1980s. (S6E02). Percy assaulted the previous owner of a time machine (S6E03). Percy went GTA on a commercial bus. He evaded arrest throughout Toronto. As of July 2nd, 2002, Percy was court ordered in Ottawa to pay Kevin $43,000.00 in retroactive child support, but Percy would not make any payments. He stole the Sudbury Nickel, tying and dragging it with rope by his car. But still, Percy couldn't make change. (S6E04). Percy was wasted while operating a jet-ski (S6E05). He broke the terms of his community service by running from his two supervising officers. Also, another charge of Grand Theft Auto. In a televised news broadcast, he stated out loud that he was planning on looting local businesses if Canada were to break out in riots if they were to lose the Olympics (S6E06). Assaulting Wetnick in his hotel room (S6E07). Attempting to commit welfare fraud in France (S6E12). Percy was ready to punch Kevin's ticket had Kevin kept bothering him (S6E13). Season 7: Percy tried to make dangerous, homemade alcohol (S7E02). Burglary on Christmas Eve, at 11:30 PM, and assaulting a nearby witness (S7E03). Percy burned down the McNaughtons' front deck (S7E06). Dine and dashing. Stealing the mayor's car from a valet. (S7E08). Underage smoking & drinking at the mere age of 7½. Recklessly burning his childhood home to the ground with a cigarette that was not fully extinguished. Kicked his father's former boss in the groin when he tried to stop Percy from "copping a feel" on the boss' wife. All committed while Percy was still in the fifth grade (S7E10). Grand Theft Auto of a red 2005 Bentley worth $400,000 Canadian (S7E12). Season 8: Percy robs Anastasia's wallet. (S8E01). Percy broke into a house, killed a fish, and stole another car. Looting Charlie's corpse to keep his cowboy hat. Setting an entire ghost town on fire to hide evidence of a crime scene. (S8E03). Publicly intoxicated close to a dumpster with his family. He stole a motorized wheelchair. x2 counts of murder, albeit in self defense (S8E04). Breaking and entering a construction site, illegally, in order to loot the site. He robbed his former friend Jimmy Juggs' pawnshop after closing time. Hijacking and accidentally destroying a helicopter (S8E05). The Final Season After the murders of Pornman, Afroman, and Charlie Plunt, the Spencers burn down the crime scene to avoid any repercussions. They succeed. However, they lack so little remorse, that Percy is more concerned about Kevin driving off without him. By the show's end, Percy began to wear Plunt's cowboy hat. In the episode, "Die A Lot More", Percy parodies the main protagonist, John McClane, of the 1988 live-action film, Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis. He pushes a criminal from a roof, and pushes a second criminal down a flight of stairs. Death Percy dies by the age of 45, considering he was born in 1960, and the series finale aired on November 6th, 2005. In the series finale, "See You in Hell", Percy stubbed his toe against the table in his kitchen, which then leads to the toe getting infected, leading Percy to further succumb to necrotizing fasciitis. Throughout the final episode, Percy's legs, and upper torso quickly deteriorate. Despite losing all of his limbs, and internal organs, except for his complete head and brain, Percy remained conscious and alert of his surroundings until his head was kicked into oblivion by Allen the Magic Goose, who, in truth, simply imagined the entire universe surrounding the life of Kevin Spencer, including Percy's very own existence. Trivia Percy believed he would die from "Slow debilitating liver failure from the booze, just like Daddy." Although, Percy's father never died, at least according to Rick Kaulbars. Percy Spencer was named for the inventor of the same name, known for the creation of the microwave.[3] Percy's voice actor, Greg Lawrence, was also the head writer, and executive producer for Kevin Spencer. Apart from voicing Percy, Lawrence also voiced the Narrator, Grandpa Spencer, Kevin in the Etch-A-Sketch Pilot and See You in Hell, and Percy's uncle, Mike Spencer of the Season 4 episode, "Snowfort". Not to mention Lawrence voiced his own animated avatar in the Season 6 finale, also in the Season 8 episode, "Air Show". Greg Lawrence voiced the younger Percy as shown in the flashbacks in "Bruno Gerussi Must Die Again" and "Uncle Lester". In both episodes, younger Percy notably had a higher pitched voice. It's especially noticeable in the latter episode, specifically the scene where Percy yelled at his dad after receiving a concussion from the baseball. His middle name, represented in the initial "B.", was never revealed. In one episode, Percy sported a shirt, "Scorpio", so he must have been born between October 23rd and November 21st. According to the eleventh episode of the second season, Percy last bought his underwear on March 2nd, 1979. When he was not drinking, Percy ate pizza as a recurring meal. According to the episode, "The New Mr. Franklin", Percy had already contracted herpes. Later developed as a more prominent character as the show continued to air, to the point that the eight season's theme song is centered around Percy. Percy's the only main character to have his shirt change throughout every episode after the first had premiered. Percy's an avid collector of novelty t-shirts. Percy may also have been viewed as the second-most tragic character other than Kevin. Out of Percy's cousins & friends, Mike Spencer, Frank Spencer, Phil Spencer, Jimmy Juggs, Marty "The Bartender" McMurphy, and Charlie Plunt, Percy had the most privileged childhood and potential to move on ahead in the world to leave behind a memorable, positive progress. Instead, his life spiraled into a constant cycle of substance abuse, blind ignorance, parental neglect, and a long criminal rap sheet as a typical "Johnny Redneck Bail Jumper" completely dependent on welfare programs. According to Season 4 Episode 9, Percy was a fan of John Wayne films, whom he refers to as, "Duke". Among Percy's favorite rock bands included the fictional band. "Purple Digit", and the real-life groups, Trooper, and Led Zeppelin. His least favorite actual bands were Chilliwack, and Treble Charger. Percy has suffered multiple heart attacks due to his heavy smoking. Percy despised British Columbians. This is ironic, given the fact that he once aspired to be a British Columbia-based beachcomber. Apart from failing to remember his childhood, including his own brother, Lester, Percy also failed to remember that he had sired multiple illegitimate children, including Tyrone, the runaway from the episode, "Legitimate Claims". According to the 2003 episode, "Olympics Special", based on the testimony of Charlie Plunt, Percy was technically an Olympic athlete, for winning the bronze medal in boxing, but he was not registered, nor was he sober at the event. Percy was quite active in playing arcade-based video games, as shown in the episode. "Jacked In". While Percy only spoke in English, despite his informal use of profanity and broken grammar, it is obvious that he was descended from a French background, since Grandpa Spencer, spoke in both French, and English, as revealed by Anastasia as they went to pay for Percy's bail in the episode of Season 3, "Mont Surreal". Percy's surname, Spencer, does indeed have French origins. The surname originated as a title for a person who dispensed money, as a duty to provide services. Percy, ironically, serves as the main provider for Kevin's family by routinely committing crimes. Another hint about the Spencers being French is given in the episodes "Mont Surreal" and "Two Strokes and You're Playing with It", because Percy's father was living in Montreal, the capital of Quebec. A third detail is Percy's paternal cousin, Phillippe. Phil spoke in a heavy Quebecois accent. Phil exclaimed the vulgar word, "Tabernac!" after he fell on the kitchen floor of a cabin during a camping trip with Percy, 10-year-old Kevin and Charlie, during the events of the episode "Life Lessons". The episode of the sixth season, "That Thing You Can Only Say In French", Percy, Anastasia, and Kevin voyaged to Paris, France. While the reason for their choice to go to Paris was most likely for a romantic getaway, they could have also gone to explore the cultural source of Percy's heritage. Despite this, throughout the series, Percy would display great disdain for the French. Percy’s first pet from his past was a hamster, “Dingle”. On the sixth episode of Season 4, Percy was the only member of his family to be a fan of the classic Canadian tv program, The Beachcombers, starring Bruno Gerussi. Percy's mother also saw the show with Percy as a child. Percy mostly resembled his dead mother, not his father. Percy completely resembled both his paternal grandfather, Jebediah Spencer, and paternal ancestor, Reverend Zeke Spencer. Percy had a poor grasp on geography, judicial law, and basic math. Percy was so stupid that he mistook a mule residing inside Kevin's bedroom for a fish. That, and the one legal job that he was qualified to have was as a movie theater usher. He had a signature recipe for mouth wash at Christmas parties. One of the few souvenirs that Percy ever gave to Kevin as a present was a snow globe from Nevada's Mustang Ranch. Percy was a patriot. One of his favorite holidays was Canada Day, and on Remembrance Day, he drank in the Veterans' Legion. As a child, Percy dreamed of traveling to British Columbia to become a beachcomber to reconnect with his father. As an a adult, Percy once aspired to be "the best pit fighter in the joint!" No matter how poor the Spencers were, they still miraculously managed to afford a landline.. Percy generally had enough money to buy booze and smoke, so he might have used some of the money to pay for the phone service. Percy should have died much sooner. For example, in the episode, "Sore Throats", he had a metal fork lodged inside his stomach. His insides would have been shredded. In "Jacked In", Shawna pulled the plug on the virtual reality machine Kevin and Percy were linked to, giving them further brain damage. Although they survived, they could've easily died. Percy had great disdain for Quebec, but was still jealous of the fact that unlike Ontario, Quebec did sell liquor in their corner stores at all hours of the night. Percy once proposed to Anastasia that they should move to Quebec. It's possible that Percy was an agent of The King in Yellow. The King in Yellow is a pseudonym for the elder dark god Hastur. According to the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, and of course interpretation of the texts in which he appears, Hastur is the embodiment of the concept "corruption." Percy frequently broke minor laws. Percy has knowingly written checks that bounced. Percy's vocabulary was so vile that he doesn't realize at times that he heavily cursed in profanity. Percy's memory was also horrible. According to the episode, "Uncle Lester", Percy couldn't remember the entirety of his childhood. "'Cause I only remember from like high school, or so. And even that's a bit sketchy." Percy's liver was very much useless from his relentless alcoholism, so he no longer had bladder control. Percy has avoided paying off his bar tab many times throughout the show. So, Marty has banned Percy more than once from his bar. Percy ruined his previously privileged home, based on the episode, "Uncle Lester". He looted Plunt's corpse to keep his cowboy hat. Anastasia always blamed Percy for ruining her life. He's been the burden of his family for generations, for his father, and Percy's son, Kevin. Percy encouraged Kevin to destroy public and private property, particularly mailboxes. Percy often cheated on Anastasia with other women, and often times sought to abandon Kevin. The worst example of Percy abandoning Kevin was in Season 6 Episode 11, "Doing Time". Percy was trying to extend Kevin's prison sentence for as long as possible to avoid having Kevin move back home. He is a neighbor and a friend of Kevin's. Appearance Timmy is a pale-skinned teenage boy with short, messy blonde hair. He has a golden piercing on his right nostril and another on his left eyebrow, the latter of which is seen in his second design. For seasons 2-3, Timmy wore a teal graphic T-shirt, grey pants, and purple sneakers. The graphic on his T-shirt is a moon with yellow text on top of it in all caps that reads, "The truth is out there". He also had dark purple underbags on his eyes and a black and yellow spiked choker in this season. For most of Season 4 onward, Timmy wears a green graphic T-shirt, the same grey pants, and black sneakers. The graphic on his T-shirt is a green guitar with black text below it in all caps that reads, "ROCK IS KING". Personality Timmy is condescending, spoiled, egotistical, delusional, insecure, and introverted. He is also casual and has a laidback personality. He's the next door neighborhood to the Spencer family, and he's the rich kid, but he considered himself an outcast, and sees Kevin as the only one who understands him. Timmy likes to hang out in libraries to do his hacking on his computer against the government, and do shenanigans among his "friend" Kevin. Sometimes, he would make fun of Kevin for being the welfare kid who is special needs due to his history of psychosis. Timmy tries to be as troublesome as Kevin, but to the public, he was just a showoff. The two shared the same love interest to Shawna, and both also have crazy parents who are into voyeurism and perform intercourse for sex tapes. Timmy is ungrateful to his parents; his mother cares for him but still shows disrespect and rebels against the rich people in town. He also uses his dad's money to buy a snowfort. Usually, his parents forbid Timmy to hangout with Kevin which causes him to resist authority and do crimes. Family Timmy lives in a house with his parents, Donna and Marvin McNaughton. They are a very wealthy family in contrast to the rest of Landville's neighborhood. Unlike the Spencers, the McNaughtons don't actively try to hurt their son (though they have problems of their own). Timmy is pretty defiant towards both of his parents, often doing things against the law and purely for the sake of getting them mad. Trivia According to the commentary for Good Will Spencer from the Straightening Things Out DVD, Timmy was written and created specifically to make fun of hackers, who Greg Lawrence describes as "kids who have no friends and aren't good at sports, and probably never had sex." Timmy was first referred to with Wilkins as his last name in his debut, though this was later changed for unknown reasons. More Character Gallery Relationships Kevin Spencer is the main protagonist from the television series of the same name. He thought that might straighten things out Description Kevin Spencer is the main protagonist/anti-hero of the titular series, Kevin Spencer. Kevin is a 16-year-old Canadian teenager residing in a middle-class neighborhood in Landville, Ontario, with his parents Percy and Anastasia Spencer. Appearance Kevin is a pale-skinned teenage boy and is almost always seen wearing a black baseball cap; underneath his hat is short black messy hair, which frequently changes in length and design. He wears an orange V-neck sweater with a black pocket on the right side, blue jeans with dark red pockets, and black boots. Personality Kevin Spencer is described as an alcoholic and chain-smoking sociopath, having a multitude of mental disorders (known ones being attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and antisocial personality disorder, as well as psychosis). All this factors in the fact he has never been able to make friends and fit in with regular society. His personality is described in the now-unavailable, but archived page on the official Kevin Spencer website (as the only thing available on the site, as of June 2024, is an image): "Kevin is a full-blown sociopath addicted to cough syrup and cigarettes. He is primarily guided by emotion and acts to satisfy his immediate needs and desires with no regard to future consequences. Kevin has little patience for the world at large and has simplified his life down to the pursuit of a few basic needs: More cough-syrup, booze, more cigarettes and "straightening things out". However, beneath this exterior lies a likable anti-hero just trying to stakeout his little claim to the world. Kevin's only desire in the world is to "just fit in". Despite his never ending failures in this quest, he nevertheless continues to pick himself up and try again." [1] Kevin's character is slightly more interesting in the fact that he is obviously in possession of some degree of intellect. The show never uses his voice (until recently), but suggests that he tells people rather detailed and articulate things or asks intelligent, legitimate questions when faced with an argument. Instead, the show's narrator (voiced by Greg Lawrence) speaks for him. More often than not these arguments are dismissed by the person that hears them, and this usually causes Kevin to respond to what his environment led him to be the answer: violence. Family Kevin lives in a messy, disheveled house with his parents Percy and Anastasia Spencer, who are both drunken alcoholics and often neglect him. Kevin has a twin brother named Bradley, whom had been adopted away to another family once they were both born, simply because Kevin has shown no emotions since birth and that it "would've been easier to deal with", as stated by Percy. Kevin is ambivalent towards his parents, meaning he doesn't care whether they're harmed or not in whatever hijinks he manages to conjure up. It's often be questioned whether or not Percy was his true father, though there are certain implications given by the show strongly backing the idea that it is true. Under Kevin's cap, he's been sporting a bald spot, censored, and circular as large as Percy's. He can drink, and smoke a great deal, rivaled by Percy's tolerance for substance. His rotten teeth are identical to Percy's. Kevin has mental illness, most likely passed down to him from Percy's father. Trivia According to the Pilot, on a calendar, Kevin’s birthday is on August 26, meaning he was born on August 26, 1987, but according to information found on Kevin's driving license in "Invisible Sociopath", which is more recent than the pilot, Kevin was born on April 16. And since the show appears to take place in real time, he was most likely born in 1984 (taking his father's birth year in consideration, which is 1960); this makes Kevin's date of birth April 16, 1984 at its earliest, this likely retcons Kevin’s birthdate in the Pilot. Kevin was partially based off of a man Greg Lawrence personally knew in his hometown.[2] He died because his car exploded of unknown causes, it’s likely that the car exploded either because Mr Franklin hijacked the car off-screen, Kevin accidentally crashed into something, or Greg Lawrence was trying to figure out a way to kill off Kevin so they went with that He has spoken three times throughout the show. Kevin spoke in the episode, Dreamland, and he spoke in a high pitched voice. The reason for that was because the creators found it funny.(citation needed) Then, he yells profanity in the end of the episode, "Beach Blanket Bloodbath". Finally, his last words were, "Goodbye, Allen" in the series finale. He started to have emotions/feelings for the first time in Season 3: Episode 8: Homunculus He first started crying in Season 3: Episode 8: Homunculus, His crying face would be reused for Bradley Dephalma in Season 4: Episode 6: Bruno Gerussi Must Die Again but the mouth would be reused for Percy Spencer in Season 5: Episode 2: Slingshot Kevin is a talented singer as shown in Psychiatrist No. 1 and M.O.W.
